“I shop for [insert sewing or doll supply online often and sometimes need to run to Joann’s or Walmart if it’s an emergency. You never know with fabric or sewing emergencies. I love browsing fabric web sites, Only complaint I usually have is that there is not always something in the picture to give scale so I can see if the fabric print is the correct scale.
I shop for 1/4" double stick adhesive, which makes sewing little pieces so much easier, at Amazon.com, sewing machine supplies at Brother online, and fabric from local stores and Fabric Fairy.com. I’m really pleased with stock and service.
I shop for fabrics and notions in fabric stores but especially antique and thrift stores
I shop for most of my immediate sewing needs at Hobby Lobby as they are close by. I sometimes make the 30 mile (one way) trip to JoAnn’s or buy on line when I am not in a hurry. The WalMart in town has fabric, too. However, it sometimes is difficult to find someone to cut it.
I shop for mechanical sewing needs at Sewing Machines Plus and have for many years because they have a wide selection and prompt shipping. But most importantly, I shop for 18" doll patterns and classes at Pixie Faire. What? It’s true. You can get fabrics and notions at Joanns, my nearest one is 30 miles away so I often shop onlilne instead, but I am a longarm quilter full time in my home and I have a full stash closet, so when I have a second to sew and want a new pattern, I want it NOW. I am always pleased to have that immediate gratification, instant download, and reliable product and if there is a video class to go with the pattern OH JOY!!
I shop for fabrics, notions everywhere thrift stores especially
I shop for sewing supplies at Joann because they have a great selection and are close to my home.
I shop for doll supplies online at home sew . I was pleased with the quality, selection and value.
I shop for fabric at Joanns. I like that I can see the fabric in person and decide what I like versus shopping online. Plus I’ve been pleased with their customer service.
I do find many items on Etsy. But do a lot of web searching.
I shop for all of my craft and sewing supplies at Joanne’s. I am always pleased with their selection, the coupons offered, and the ease of checking out.

When I shop in person, I enjoy the coupons but also that I can see and touch the items prior to purchasing.

I shop locally for fabric and acessories. I like to see what I am getting. Until recently, I could shop at one of the few Ben Franklin stores that are left. Unfortunately, it closed at the end of September. Now, I must shop for my sewing and craft needs at the next closest, Joannes.

I shop mostly for fabric for quilt.
“I shop for small trim and lace online at Lace Place. I was pleased with how quickly they ship out but more importantly how they ship the lace and trim, they carefully wrap each selection onto a cardboard “bolt/card” so it stays neat and tidy until ready for use. I also love our local quilt shop Stitchin Heaven in Quitman TX for browsing and online shopping. I try to support the small quilt shops as much as possible for fabric. They are slowing dying out all around us and find with doll clothes the fabric amount needed is so small the extra $1-2 a yard well worth supporting a family/families in my area.
I shop for fabric, trims, etc. at Excelsior Fabrics. It is a locally owned Mennonite store. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
I mostly shop for fabric locally at Asheville Cotton Co. where they sell quilting fabric and sewing machines. Now with pandemic I am doing more on line. If I could find small scale sewing items like buckles and tiny patterns online I would buy them and sew more for my dolls.
I shop for serger thread and some supplies at wawak. Great prices and customer service.
I shop for small buttons on Etsy.
I shop for my sewing supplies on Amazon, Quiltsmart for patterns, Pineapple fabrics for quilt backing fabrics, and sewing machine parts online. I also have shopped at Ryco and Tumbleweeds quilt shop (both are local quilt shops also Pixie for doll clothes patterns (their patterns styles are more current than any other site.)
I have also tried to shop my fabric stash for mask fabrics and doll clothes fabrics.
I shop at Zipper That Doll for thin doll Velcro, small buttons and snaps. I shop on line and they are very quick with shipping. For fabric, I shop locally at Fabricland and for craft supplies locally at Michael’s. I am looking forward to reading the list of where other folks are finding supplies and grateful for Pixie Faire daily list of supplies with this event.
Since I mostly quilt, I shop quilts stores for most items. I will search online for a particular item. I shop the Singer cite for machine accessories. I also shop at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn’s.
I usually buy my fabric at Hobby Lobby. I buy zippers, trim, foe etc… online because at times it is hard to find these locally. I love that Hobby Lobby is a Christian based store and their employees are wonderful!
I shop for fabric at JoAnns. I love to visit their remnant bin.
I shop for fabric and notions at JoAnn’s. I was pleased with the selection.
I shop locally at JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby for fabric and Etsy for Velcro, elastic and separating zippers for my sewing supplies. For my sewing machine accessories, I’ve shopped at Madamsew website.
I have never had customer service problem s at any of these vendors.
I shop at JoAnn’s on line because they have curbside pickup! I shop for patterns at pixie faire.com because most of what I sew is historical doll clothing!
I shop at quilt shops for fabric. Quality is better than a Joanne’s and it lasts so much longer. I buy my machines at Nashua Sew and Vac they are like family.
I shop for my patterns online and had just began purchasing fabric when it went on sale on Blueprint before they switched to Craftsy and they no longer offer fabric. I have also bought both fabric and notions from thrift stores.
I shop for most of my patterns on pixie fairy. And I’ve been very happy with the results. Whenever I have had a question or concerns I know that they will help me immediately.

I was pleased with everything … quality, personal attention (very helpful), good variety, extremely reasonable prices & special discounts, and instant gratification ( I don’t have to get in my car and drive anywhere and I don’t have to wait in line:) I can view my patterns and print them any time, day or night. Thank you for making this possible!
I shop for fabric and other notions every source I can find. I like french lace and order it from overseas as it is more affordable. Fabric is usually from Joanns.

I try to use my stash at home for my sewing, but when I need something special I shop Hobby Lobby or JoAnn’s.
I mostly shop at JoAnn for fabrics and trims and Amazon and Etsy for notions. I love being able to get great remnants at JoAnn for such great prices and shipping from Amazon and Etsy are usually really fast with reasonable prices.
Recently though I have been shopping in Facebook Marketplace. I love that I can filter to places close to me and give some support to people in my community.
I shop for fabric at Knitpop.com. I love the quality and price! They have an app too, so that helps to catch cheap deals.
I shop at Home Sew for speciality items. Customer service is great and the order goes out quickly. I browse a lot of stores on line just to see what is available.
I purchase my patterns from Pixie Faire and my fabrics from Hobby Lobby and quilt stores. I miss going to Goodwill because I always found wonderful fabric there. I have had good luck ordering from Amazon. I rely on all the reviews. The customer service at Pixie Faire is amazing. I am always needing their help!
I have to shop for most of my sewing supplies online (ebay, etsy, walmart, amazon) as there are no local sewing stores. I’ve also found a lot of supplies by going to yard sales.
I shop for sewing supplies in person at Joann Fabrics or Walmart. Right now, they are the only option locally. On line I have bought from Pixie Faire and Nancy’s Notions (loved Nancy Z). I am happy to be seeing some other online options as I look through others’ comments. Thanks for doing this, Cinnamon and pixies! Not just for the chance to win but to hear from others who share our passion.
I shop at Pixie Faire for my patterns and Amazon for elastic. I find my buttons and lace at Hobby Lobby and JoAnns. I have been able to continue sewing and haven’t had a problem with supplies.
“I shop for fabric and trims at farmhousefabric.com and ETSY. I am always pleased with my purchases at Farmhouse, and can telephone them for help with my needs. I bought my Janome machine from Moye’s in Savannah, GA years ago, I take it in every year for service and am very pleased with both my machine and the service.
I shop at every store that carries fabric usually. During this past year, I can’t go out to stores as I used to so I have been shopping in my own stash and have even raided my husband’s old work shirts instead of donating them. I can’t say much about customer service but as an st risk person, it is better safe than sorry.
I shop for specialty fabric at Goodwill. I was pleased with the great finds by using upcycled clothing to create doll outfits.
I shop the local thrift stores for fabrics to repurpose and Amazon for notions. I love Pixie Faire for their patterns!

I shop at joanns. They have the best sales and great coupons to get what I need for all sewing projects.
i have a fabric stash that is huge, so i only shop for specialty fabrics mostly online. I look for notions at Amazon.
I shop at our local JoAnns for fabric and notions, and Pixie Faire for doll patterns.
Will also shop Hobby Lobby and on-line for some items.
I shop for cute, adorable patterns for my dolls at Pixie Faire. The patterns are easy to follow, and they fit my dolls so well.
I shop for doll clothes patterns at Pixie Faire because they have a bit of everything for almost any doll you can think of. I shop for sewing and knitting supplies at Hobby Lobby and JoAn Fabric’s. Their selections of what I need are extensive and the workers are very helpful and knowledgeable.
I have found some good buys at Wawak Sewing Supplies online. Their shipping is also very quick.
I really like the selection that HomeSew has for webbing straps for the Sew Powerful purses.
In Ontario fabric stores are becoming more rare. I have one local shop I support, but as a snowbird, I’m always at Joanns and Hobby Lobby. I always check the remnants first.
I shop for my sewing supplies on line. I like to buy from small businesses like Spun Honey, Lovies Fabric, Wanderlust Designs Custom Fabric,Kammie Lou Lou’s fabric shop to name a few. I think it is very important especially now in this hard time to support the small businesses. Not to mention they have the best fabrics and customer service is superior. My go to place for my machines and I bought a few in the last year from them is Sewing Machines Plus. Right now I am waiting for a special order Juki that only 2000 released to the United States from them. Their customer service is superior and the only place I would buy my machines from. They call me to go over my orders. Additionally I buy all my thread and Scissors from them so they’re not just machines I get all my notions and supplies there too. I highly recommend them.
I have such a hoard of fabric and supplies, I can normally find what I need at home. :-) If I need a notion replaced I check with Joann’s online and wait for free shipping to be available whenever I can.
My go to store for anything sewing is JoAnns. My daughter told me about Wawak. They have a large selection of materials. Great price on cone thread for my serger and needles. Found a variety of twin needle sizes that I’ve added to my supplies. The smallest is great for doing double row stitching on doll clothes. I’ve been very happy with their service and delivery.
I online shop at JoAnn’s, Michaels and Cricut. All sent what I ordered but the delivery was very slow. Due to our own health issues we do not shop in stores right noe. Everything is delivered.
I live in a very rural area where fabric shopping is limited to Wal Mart and a local quilt shop. Recently I have been buying fabric from Etsy shops that sell smaller cuts at acceptable prices. I always go to Joann’s and/or Hobby Lobby when we travel the 100+ miles to the nearest city. I recycle many things for fabric, trims and buttons, mostly purchased from yard sales or thrift shops
I shop for 100 per cent cotton at my local quilt shop. They have small 1930 prints. I order my thread, elastic etc for curbside pick up at a major fabric chain. Although during Covd I have been ordering on line with good results. Dianne
I shop locally at Joanns and Hobby Lobby. I source some items at Amazon and I buy “next level” fabrics online. I get doll patterns from Pixie Faire.
I shop for fabric at Material Girl in Mineral City, Oh. The owner, Wendy, is very helpful.
Most of my doll sewing shopping is through JoAnns and Etsy. JoAnns has good sales and coupons. When I can’t find what I’m looking for at JoAnns, Etsy is my go to source.
I shop for Velcro at Pinkismart on Etsy. I was pleased with the color selection and the quality of the product.
I shop at Joann’s in the clearance - it’s a busy store and I don’t need much fabric since doll clothes are small. If it’s something special (like Notre Dame fabric) then I go to ETSY.
Joann’s is my go to for ribbons and trims.
Almost all of the fabrics I use for quilting and sewing come from two of my favorite shops: Fabrics Etcetera in Webster, TX and The Fabric Shop in Ruston, LA. The owners and staff members in both places are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and they go out of their way to help me with whatever I’m working on. I try to keep up with what’s on sale, and I usually buy more than I need — just in case. I have ordered very successfully from Missouri Star Quilt Company in Missouri and Jordan Fabrics in Oregon. They, too, have been very helpful. Occasionally I will get things from JoAnn or Hobby Lobby, but I do think it’s very important to keep local businesses and shops in mind whenever I can.
I shop at the dollar store for items I can repurpose into doll clothes- hats, socks, etc. I shop JoAnn’s for fabric because it’s affordable and convenient. I shop PixieFaire and Violette Fields Threads for patterns because they both have such a good selection and great sales.
I shop for doll shoes at Dors dollbouquiet
I was very happy with their prices
I shop for most sewing supplies at Joann I was pleased with their customer service and prices. I also do a lot of fabric shopping on line at fabric.com.
I shop for my notions mostly from locally owned small businesses. Sometimes they don’t ha e what I’m looking for, so Fabricland is my next go to, then on line is amazon or Ali express or wish. I’d rather shop local, but finding what you need is lost impossible
I shop Joann’s for glitzy metallics and sheers. Customer service has always been good.
I shop for sewing and knitting supplies at Atlantic Fabric or Fabricville. Local business. Occasionally I shop online for knitting supplies at Knitpicks.com or Briggsandlittle.com for wool. This is a Maritime company that has the loveliest wool.
I shop for fabric at JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby. However, I love to search for items to “repurpose” into the doll clothes I make. Sometimes it is difficult to find the right small scale print – so I look at crib sheets, cotton curtains, tablecloths at thrift stores. I repurposed a soft fleecy robe into 5 robes for AG dolls!
I shop for doll sized zippers, buttons, doll velcro and buckles at Zipper That Doll. I was pleased with the quality and speed of shipping. The prices were competitive.
I find a lot of my doll sized fabrics in presewn garments and in remnant bins. I can get a smaller cut of fabric at a good price, since I am only making one doll sized outfit.
Thanks for the opportunity. Happy stitching!
I shop for 18 inch doll clothes on Pixie Faire. I have been very pleased with all the patterns that I have gotten. They are all very easy to follow.
I shop for a most of my fabrics and notions at JoAnn Fabrics. The rest is the online when I can’t find what I’m looking for.
I shop for fabric and notions at Joanns because of the convenience and coupons they offer. Also, customers can buy as little as a quarter of a yard in-person as opposed to on-line minimums.
My biggest problem was finding zippers and buttons and other notions in a scale suitable for doll clothes. I have been very happy with Homesew and Zipperthatdoll. I have found no suppliers in Canada.
I shopped at the dollar store and Amazon and found fold-over elastic for a swimsuit pattern so my daughter could take a properly-outfitted doll on vacation in early winter :) The swimsuit fabric was one of her old suits. With so few places to shop locally, I need to get creative!
Joann fabrics Is my go to for my notions. I go to Verna’s in Mifflintown and Mary Lees in Allensville for all my fabrics. Nice quality fabrics.
Joann fabrics Is my go to for my notions. I go to Verna’s in Mifflintown and Mary Lees in Allensville for all my fabrics. Nice quality fabrics.
I shop for sewing and machine embroidery supplies mostly at Joann, Hobby Lobby or Amazon depending on what I am needing. I generally find what I need. Also I scour the remnant bins for small cuts of fabric for doll clothes!
… basic sewing notions & fabric
… Walmart Super Center
… price
My only local place to shop for sewing supplies is Walmart In the past year, our WM was reduced to 1/4 size, our Joann’s closed and my local sewing machine service/parts shop closed. I improvise a lot… using what is available, but having to make many adjustments. New Year, new ways of “making do” with what’s available.
I like to shop at several stores, both online and in person. I like Home Sew for my zippers, notions, and doll sized hangers. Whenever I travel I like to shop the local independent fabric stores. They have great selections of regional inspired prints that make my clothe unique. That’s true of my local quilt/fabric stores. And I love Snap Source for their wide selection of small snaps. (I hate to hand sew and that includes buttons. Snaps give my clothes that something special.)
