I am limited to shopping at Joann’s, Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. I can’t always find what I am looking for but I do get good customer service at Joann’s. I have even looked for fabric at our local Goodwill. I bought a pretty taffeta dress that I took apart to make a party dress.
“I shop for sewing supplies for doll patterns at our local Joann Fabrics.. I am pleased with thw quality of their fabrics. An added note I shop for doll acessories at the dollar stores to find the little miniature items needed.
Hi Where can I find A List of The Winners from the 12 Days of Christmas.
I shop for fabric at my local fabric chain, Fabricland. I am pleased with the quality and prices, but I wish there was a better selection of small-scale prints.
“I shop for fabric and notions at Joann’s normally.I was pleased with their variety of quilter’s material, how pleasant they all are, and their knowledge."
I like to shop at Quilts & Lace in Viera,FL. the shop is small but mighty with a great selection of fabrics, wonderful people who are always so helpful. I also like to shop local estate sales for all sorts of items to upcycle.
“I shop for everything at Joann’s I was pleased with their coupons.
I shop for doll material and supplies at the Treadle in Bloomington, Ill. I am pleased with Vicki’s knowledge and helpfulness.
I shop for fabric and thread at Hobby Lobby. II was pleased with customer service and convenience
I shop for fabric, buttons, Velcro, and other doll sewing necessities at Joans, Walmart, Dollar Tree, and Alliexpress. I was pleased with the price most of all!
I like to shop for bargains at the thrift stores that I can upcycle for doll clothes. Doll fastenings to scale are a challenge to find anywhere but HomeSew.com. I would still like to find a wider selection of functional buckles to use for shoe, belt, and jacket details.
I shopped for sewing supplies/fabric at JoAnn Fabric, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Etsy, and Spoonflower last year. Even though Spoonflower is expensive, I like that I can find just about any print I want.
I shop for 1/2" Velcro at Homesew.com. I’m really impressed with these quality, how soft and pliable it is, and how easy it is to sew. I enjoy using it because it lies smoother on the fabric than other hook and loop products.
I check my supplies first and can often find something similar to what I need.
I like to shop at JoAnns’s when they are not overrun by the big socialist scare and cannot go into their store. Their coupons help keep the cost down.
But I also shop at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, rummage sales, thrift stores and any store I may be at and see craft/sewing ideas I can use. There is also a lot of free resources on the internet – one of my favorites is YouTube presenter that makes doll “everything” from Dollar Tree items
When we go to our cabin for vacation in Maine there is a general warehouse store (Mardens) that has clearance prices on all kinds of things.
I am a hands-on person. I like to actually see a product in person – online I will search with hesitation as they will use wording that is deceiving and many times will not get what I thought. I made doll clothes by hand since the 70s with no pattern. I have many doll clothes books and patterns from the mentioned places that I have collected since the 80s
My last awesome find was at Menards – they had dog leash and collar set on clearance for small dogs – the clips, hooks, metal rings and the narrow leash/collar will make accessories for all kinds of dolls at a fraction of the regular price of these items separately.
Pixie Fare has a huge selection of patterns and ideas, and their service is exceptional.
I shop for doll trim, zippers, lace, and other notions at Home Sew. I’ve been happy with their prices, their quality, and their mail service.
I shop for doll clothing patterns at Pixel Faire, love the designers. I was pleased with the designs, they so awesome! My fabrics I purchase mostly from JoAnn’s, but other places too.
I shop for sewing supplies from my stash. I jest!!! Although I have a sores’ worth of supplies, I never seem to have the right color of button, lengt/color of zipper, etc., etc., SO, JOANN’s it (usually) is!
I shop for patterns at Pixie Faire! It’s the only place that when I order I know ALL the patterns will be great quality, always pleased with that!
I shop for little zippers and elastic at Liberty Jane because I know they will be the right size for my dolls.
“I shop for fabrics or anything I need for sewing, at Joanns. I have never been disappointed with the customer service. They are always willing to help and give advice which makes my trip there simple and fast.
I shop for fabric at thrift stores and other sewers selling their stash. I was pleased with a very large lot we were given for free due to the lady not sewing but collecting from a fabric store she worked at.
I shop for fabric and notions at Joann’s, but I also like ordering specialty sewing notions from Etsy.
After shopping in my craft room (black hole) I then use JoAnn Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and occasionally Walmart for what I don’t have, which isn’t much. I have been in every store in a 50 mile radius that carries sewing machines, fabrics, patterns and/or notions. I also like to create things from repurposed clothing and bed linens. I like Violet Field Threads and Pixie Faire for pdf patterns, although I find PF has a much wider, diverse and impressive selection. I am pleased with the service of the PF team. They’re very helpful.
I shop for historical replica fabric at Colonial Williamsburg. I was pleased with the amazing products and the customer service is some of the best you can find!
I shop for elastic at hair bow center’s website. They ship fast and have great prices. They are an excellent resource for elastic. I also love that they don’t charge a lot for shipping.
I shop for fabric at Michael’s. I was pleased with cute buttons meant for scrapbooking that look great on my doll creations.
I shop at 2 locally owned stores, supporting these specialty stores is important to me. The quality of fabric is excellent and the staff is knowledgeable.
I shop for material locally, an out of home business for all my sewing and she has the best customer service!
I shop for thread at Wawak.com. I was pleased with the extensive supply of threads in the variety of brands, colors and type. I find their prices really great and their shipping is ultra fast even throughout the pandemic and the Holidays as well. I am so happy to support this business!
I shop at Joanna & Hobby Lobby because they are close to me.
I check out fabric online at Spoonflower. There are so many designs available, and quite a few come in doll-sized prints.
I shop online Hobby Lobby, Joann’s, and Walmart.com I like that I can still get necessities online and yet use up my stash. I also like the specials and coupons.
I try to purchase fabric and notions from small businesses because I want to support them. I have discovered several Esty sellers and I have been pleased with all of products I have bought as well as customer service.
I shop for children’s clothing at Goodwill because the prints are smaller scale to use the fabric for doll clothes. I was pleased with treasure hunt and the price!
I shopped for hangers, shoes and accessories like eye glasses, at Dori’s Doll Boutique. The quality and price are great and customer service is top notch.
I mostly shop at Joann’s and am pleased with the service. I also “shop” thrift stores and my closet for items that I can upcycle.
I found a fabric store called Feline Drive online that sells cat themed fabrics. I also found a store in my city called Cool Cottons that provided contact-free pick-uo for fabrics ordered online. Both were exceptional.
I shop for my sewing supplies at Wawak, and for doll size trims I’ve started using Home Sew. I have also bought on Amazon.
I’ve shopped online at Home sew for zippers and buttons and Zipper that Doll for zippers and Velcro . Both good customer service . Anything is kind of expensive shipped to Canada unfortunately. Our local independent store Sew Easy has been great and stayed open throughout offering delivery and I could email an order for pick up. They were great
I shop for fabric in remnant bins and trims and other notions on Etsy.
I bought thread and other things at Wawack and they were very helpful trying to match colors by my description. Everyone has been friendly and takes their time answering questions.
I shop JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby for most of my sewing supplies. I have always been pleased with the fabrics, notions, and customer service at either place.
I shop for zippers, trims and overall closures for dolls at Home Sew. I was pleased with all their choices when I discovered them years ago when I started sewing for dolls. Their quality is wonderful and their service is excellent. When I noticed they were located in Bethlehem, PA, where I grew up, I read their story and realized that many years ago, shortly after they opened, my mother shopped there for her sewing trims. She loved their store and went back often. I am pleased to follow in her footsteps. I love the store too.
I shop for sewing at Joann, stonemountain & daughter fabrics, Berkeley, also Piedmont Fabrics. Sawyer Brook, Fabric Place at [insert where]. I was pleased with [ tell us – quaility, customer service, or something else]"
I shop mostly at JoAnn’s. Since the pandemic I shop online and then pick up my order. I also shop other online stores.

I shop for sewing supplies at a dozen places, at least! I like Fabric.com, Fat quarter shop, Connecting Threads, Missouri Star Quilts, JoAnns( in store and online), Amazon, Mood, and some Etsy stores. I shop for Children and doll patterns at Violette Field Threads and Pixie Faire. Most of these shops have pretty fast shipping except Connecting Threads took a good 2 weeks. During the pandemic I shop online mainly.
I used to shop at JoAnn’s fabrics till I relocated. Now, with COVID restrictions, I shop mainly online for my notions at Home Sew. And I have purchased fabric online at Fabric.com. I have always been pleased with the quality and service from all places I have purchased goods.

Stock is always changing and it is full to the ceiling with fabric. They carry craft supplies and costumes as well. The clothing design students from the local college shop there for all their supplies. It is like a huge warehouse of treasures.
I shop for fabrics at Heddy’s Fabrics in Las Vegas. I was pleased with selection and helpful staff members, they have many wonderful items.
“I shop for sewing fabric and supplies at Hobby Lobby and Walmart, because that is all I have locally. Whenever I am near one, I visit JoAnn’s. I do not like purchasing fabric without being able to “feel” it. I am more pleased with the wider selections of fabric at JoAnn’s, but I always get good service at Hobby Lobby!
I shop mostly Joann fabrics in Carbondale or hobby Lobby C’dale being small area we have few choices My daughter lives in St. Louis and she shops when I get desperate
I shop at many places depending on what I need. I love to support my local Quality Sewing & Vac store. I appreciate their knowledge and customer service. I recently shopped for specialty vinyl on-line, very time-consuming but eventually found what I needed. There are so many options available on-line!
I buy fabric from seweird.com. Evelyn has all kinds of fabric and notions.
I like to shop at Joannes lately because they have free shipping offers sometimes and Amazon for things I can get on there with Prime since I do not go out.

I shop for notions and fabrics at the thrift store in our area and am excited when I find little treasures. Making projects out of repurposed materials or kids clothing that the kids have outgrown is rewarding
I buy my patterns at Pixie faire because they are adorable stylish and fit well. They also have wonderful instruction and tips.
I buy my patterns at Pixie faire because they are adorable stylish and fit well. They also have wonderful instruction and tips.
I buy my patterns at Pixie faire because they are adorable stylish and fit well. They also have wonderful instruction and tips.
I shop for sewing supplies at Jo-Anns because they have a Husqvarna store inside the store and I can get advice and supplies for my Husqvarna sewing machine.
I shop at Joann’s for notions and occasionally fabric. Their prices are good if I have the right coupons. I also use Amazon for a few things and they normally come within a couple of days.
I shop for sewing supplies at JoAnn fabrics, because it’s the only place in my small town that sells sewing items, and I need to feel fabric before buying.
I try to shop locally at our 2 small quilt shops but they have limited selection so I prefer to do most of my shopping online. I have shopped and bought online at many shops for lots of different items ranging from fabric, notions, supplies, sewing machine parts and accessories. I search various shops’ websites, both national and international, and then if possible contact the seller by calling direct or by email to find out if a product is available in the quantity that I want. With direct contact, I have always had terrific customer service when ordering – The dialogue/interaction is an opportunity to have any questions about the product answered along with explanations about any special features or particular instructions on how to use and what some of the options might be. Direct contact gives me increased insight as to whether the item is what I need for my project and I am able to find out a fair estimate of total cost with shipping. I have appreciated the vendors’ efforts to make the transactions easy, accommodating and comfortable. I have always been happy with the results of my online purchases.
Home Sew has a great selection of doll sized notions, zippers, buttons, overall buckles etc.
I try to use the sewing and doll supplies in my stash. When I need something we have several great Quilt shops around Tulsa where I can find great suppliies!
I shop at my local quilt shop for cottons. Used to shop online at Mary Jo’s in Gaffney SC until they closed😞. Used to have a Hobby Lobby in town but they closed. Closest is 1 hour away. Closest JoAnn’s is 2.5 hours away. Some disadvantages to living in a small town
Living in rural America, I shop at the available local quilt/fabric stores. If I can’t find it there, the internet has everything and anything I want.
I have been mostly shopping in my stash due to years of purchasing what I “might“ need at local fabric stores. I also like using thrifted clothing for my dolls clothes…yielding unique fabriccs and notions. I am not immune from shopping at Joannes or Hobby Lobby but not for their customer service.
The beautiful thing about sewing doll clothes is that I can use my personal stash of a lifetime of fabric scraps. I first go to my stash, but when wanting to embellish my project I most often buy at Joann fabric store for unique buttons or trims.
I shop for large yardages of fabric for human sewing projects at Joann’s (only with coupons stacked) about 20 min away or Fabric.com online. I was pleased with Farmhouse Fabrics for their heirloom sewing and hand sewing/smocking items – they have online sales and clearance which is great for doll projects. I also like HomeSew for small doll items and they have both a printed catalog and an online shop. For antique lace and embellishments, I browse ebay.
I shop for sewing supplies at JoAnn’s and sometimes Walmart and Hobby Lobby. I don’t like shopping for fabric online because it is so difficult to judge the size of the print and the colors can very from the pics. Also I don’t like the wait time to get the items. But sometimes if I can’t find what I am looking for I will try eBay
I shop for fabric and trim through some trusted ebay sellers. I always find good deals, plus I feel like I’m doing my part to help the planet by using unwanted sewing supplies.
I shop for sewing and doll supply at Joann’s. I was pleased with quality and service I received,
I shop for sewing supplies in my own stash and it’s great because I don’t have to spend anymore money! I’ve banned myself from purchasing more fabric until I’ve used up some of my stash.
I shop for my sewing supplies at thrift stores and Marden’s (ME). I don’t always know what I’ll find, but love the element of surprise and the treasures one finds. Also shop at JoAnns, but the nearest one is 3 hours away and don’t care for the shipping prices & not being able to stack coupons when not in person. Luckily, I have a pretty good stash that I’ve definitely been dipping into these past several months. Have been shopping on Etsy more due to not getting out and about.
“I shop for fabric and notions mostly online at this point due to Covid. I especially love shopping at Missouri Star Quilt Co. I have been pleased with the selection and the customer service"
I’ve found limited places to shop for my sewing online—but will use the references that some people gave in these comments and also check out the companies represented in your giveaway. It’s difficult to be able to trust what you see online as being the right color, quality and what you need without being able to actually see & feel things in person—at least for me at age 70. All our local fabric stores have closed now, permanently, except for what you can get at Hobby Lobby or Walmart, so I’ve been trying to shop online for them and learn where best to shop. I have found a few sellers on eBay whose cameras seem to be pretty accurate and who sell good quality items/fabric. It’s tough and I hope to discover more quality places to shop online here. I do make use of local thrift shops too as much can be salvaged to use in doll clothes sewing and it does my heart good to recycle.
I shop for supplies at JoAnn fabrics but am open to try other places for a variety of supplies.
I shop mostly at JoAnn’s with visits to Michael’s and Walmart. Walmart has a nice variety and great prices on fabrics and notions. The prices are even better at Walmart online.
I shop for sewing and doll items at Joanns (due to convenience) or Amazon. I was pleased with convenience, due to a disability, running our for an item is difficult.
“I shop for sewing supplies] at [Joann’s]. I was pleased with [ the price of the fabric sales]"
I shop for embroidery patterns at Urban Threads. I was pleased with the huge range of more modern designs that make fantastic embellishments for my doll clothes!
I usually shop at Joann’s and M and L fabrics in their stores but because of COVID-19 some stores were closed and the lines to get into the stores that were open were ridiculous, so I shopped online at Joann’s and Michael’s and a few other online fabric stores. I shop for doll patterns at Pixie Fairy.
I shop at various stores, JoAnn’s and Michael’s for chain stores. There is a charming indy shop in my town, “Stitch Adventure” and another about 15 miles away, “Sew Jersey.” I belong to American Sewing Guild, and several years ago the guild bought an American Girl doll, and we all made clothes for her, and then we held a raffle (after obtaining the proper state raffle license) and the winner got the doll and an outstanding wardrobe!
I shop at Hobby Lobby and Joann’s for me sewing and doll notions. I do fine that they are limited at times for doll scale notions but am generally happy wit their fabrics.
I shop everywhere including thrift shops to find fabric and notions for doll clothes sewing. I’m always pleased when I find just the right item for doll trousseaus.
I shop at JoAnn’s and Michael’s because I like to touch and feel what I buy.
Both stores are limited what they offer for doll sized notions.
I will have to explore what is offered online.
I shop for fabric for doll clothes and more at Fabric.com when I can’t get to a store and am very happy with the quality and speed of shipment.
I shop for sewing supplies at local stores such as Michaels and Fabricland. I was pleased with the location & selection of supplies.
I shop for ribbon, thread and fabric at Micheal’s. I was very pleased with the different selections they had. I used to go to Joann’s Fabric but it was very expensive. I also would go to a place called Elegant Stitches but they sadly closed down. For yarn and sometimes fabric I’d also go to Downtwon Knits. Thank you, Pixie Faire!!!!

I love to sew most every thing except repairs.
