My favorite sewing tip or trick is using the double tube loop turner (wooden dowel in plastic tube) to turn small items such as straps.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to pin. Pin it all! Time-consuming, but worth it not to have pieces shift by even a little.
My biggest tip is to be organized. Have everything you need for your project ready to avoid delays and the frustration of having to stop and look for something. What is even worse is having to go to the fabric store before you can complete your work of art.
My favorite sewing tip, Go slow however after reading all the messages there are certainly a lot more to learn. Thanks everyone for posting, got some real great tips from quite a few. Thanks for your inspirational ideas.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to use blue painters tape to mark seam allowance on sewing machine. Much easier to see
My favorite sewing tip is to sew in a chain line.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to always sew when you aren’t too tired. Being tired creates mistakes and unnecessary stress.

Make things bigger rather than smaller than they need to be
I prewash all my fabric and iron my fabric before I cut a pattern.
My favourite sewing tip is to cut 2 outfits at the same time. Saves time on my least favorite part of sewing projects.
That you give a list of items you will need to complete each project
My best sewing tip is to have a tomato pin cushion divided into sections and mark for needle size. I have a large hat pin the I place in the section indicating which size needle is in my machine. And if I use a needle slightly I have a place to put it indicating it’s not new but has life left.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is when using a seam ripper the little red ball goes down to separate the seam and prevent unwanted cuts.
My favourite tip is when sewing patterns the little tabs you cut into the seam allowances, cut them out of the seam allowances in case you need a little extra room you have the full seam allowance to work with but still have your tabs as a guide
Wonder tape! It makes putting in zippers a breeze. I also use it for seams and facings that don’t want to hold still to be sewn. It washes right out afterwards.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to read through directions first/
My favorite sewing tip or trick is press as you go. Pressing between sections makes everything go smoother.
Ask my mother who was a seamstress for help or my daughter who has inherited the sewing gene
My favourite sewing tip is to correct an error as soon as you see it, even if it delays the project.
A few tips that I’ve used for years: keep a balloon (deflated) in your sewing box. When hand sewing onto thick fabric you can pull the needle through much easier by using the balloon. Also, for gathering long ruffles… I zig-zag over crochet thread and pull that instead of the bobbin thread. No breaking!
My favourite sewing trick/tip is to sew in a chain line as much as possible. I’ll sew multiple outfits at the same time and that saves on short threads that need to snipped
My favorite sewing tip or trick is…to use coffee filters when sewing knits.
My favorite sewing tip is YOU TUBE! It doesn’t matter if you are experienced or a total beginner, if you are having a problem, there is a fantastic community of You Tuber’s out there who are generous with their tips and tricks to sewing the perfect item and you can find a solution to almost all of your sewing nightmares.

My favorite sewing tip or trick is to use fusible hem tape to help hold blouse pleats in place while sewing them down.
My favorite sewing tip is to use liquid stitches or fabric glue to keep fabric edges from fraying.
My favorite tip deals with the modern stretch fabric that seems to stretch uncontrollably in 10 directions. Make a liquid paste from 4 tablespoons of multipurpose flour and 1/4 cup cool water. Dip really cheap tissue paper in, and lay evenly over fabric, as squared as you can make it. Let dry. This “sizing” can be cut and sewn. Then put finished product in sink of very warm water, soaking and swishing often. The “glue” and tissue paper dissolve and peel away, Wash again till clear. All gathering and easing and seam matches are as good as if you were sewing cotton. Great for bathing suits, lingerie and dresses.
My favorite tip is to store your printed patterns flat in an art portfolio. Plus use a binder clip to keep the pieces together.
My favourite sewing tip is to enjoy the process even if things aren’t going well. You are going to learn from mistakes and hopefully not do whatever you did wrong again.
Always read the directions and have everything you need ready to go.
My favorite sewing tip is to tape a small bag to my table to use for my trash. It helps to keep my work area clean.

My favourite sewing tip is to follow the pattern instructions
My favorite sewing tip is to check and double check before sewing.
Use a hemostat to grab your fabric when turning items like bodices inside out. If you can’t find a hemostat in the sewing supply section of a store check the fishing department of a sporting goods store!

My favorite sewing tip is buy from someone who sews! :)
My favorite sewing tip is to be joyous when you get to sew ! If my mood isn’t positive, my results aren’t much, either. And a good mood makes the inevitable errors more tolerable, too.
My favorite tip Is to use a smal rotary cutter and mat to cut out the small doll patterns!
My favorite tip or trick is using my seam ripper for mulitple uses such as helping to guide the ends of seams through so they don’t fold over on itself.

my favorite tip is relax and enjoy making your one of a kind item!
My favorite, newly found sewing tip, is always make sure you have the right size and type of needle to match your fabric, especially when sewing with light-weight, stretchy knits.
My favorite tip is to make a thorough re-review of the pattern and instructions before actually starting.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is keep trying different ways until you get the look you want.
My favorite sewing trick is to remember to be patient and not hurry my design. Remember that this is my hobby and sometimes an outfit isn’t built in a day.
My favorite sewing tip is to ALWAYS quit sewing after the third mistake.
Is to have everything you need to complete the item ready before you start
My favorite sewing tip is to just go for it! I am not a very experienced seamstress, but I find when I just start and dive into it, I can figure it out as I go along. It also helps to have a more experienced helper for when you snap the needle, get the fabric stuck, etc ;)
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to use different stiches on my sewing machine to add detail
My favorite sewing trick/tip is to make your own own ironing board. Mine is 4 × 8 and is perfect for an 18 × 24 cutting mat when needed and a still have half the table ironing board space for ironing. When the cutting board is not in use, I have the full 4 × 8 to use for pressing/ironing.
My favorite sewing tip when making doll clothes is to cut out the pieces and put them into a big baggie and add the thread, buttons, snaps etc. whatever I need to complete the outfit. Then I’m more likely to complete my project.
My favorit sewing tip is to follow the pattern and iron as you go along and I like to serge all the seems .
My favorite sewing tip or trick is…take your time, son.
My favorite tip is to place a piece of painters tape down the edge of my 1/4” mark. This extends my sewing mark in front of the feed dogs and makes it easier to keep a true 1/4” seam.
My favorite sewing tip is to send the kids OUT with Dad before I start!
My tip would be, don’t sew when you are really tired, or you’ll make mistakes.
My favorite sewing tip/trick is when needing to gather a lot of fabric, instead of two lines of gathering stitches, use a length of heavier thread and zigzag over it in the seam allowance area and then all you have to do is gather on the length of thread/cording and you have an easy, evenly gathered piece of fabric.
My tip is keep your machine clean.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to press as you go and cut all loose threads as you go.
My tip is keep your machine clean.
My favorite sewing tip is to remember that your iron is as important as your sewing machine! Use it often while sewing.
My favorite this is to quit seeing when you get tired. That’s when I make mistakes. Also follow directions.
My favourite sewing tip is to surround yourself with a beautiful space. It doesn’t have to be grand or spacious but I love having everything needed close at hand and well organized. My sewing area has IKEA drawers repurposed into a tall unit that looks like an antique library card catalogue. It stores all kinds of thread, needles, bobbins etc within arm’s reach and it takes up very little room. I always spend more time sewing when comfortable and can find what I’m looking for quickly. Enjoy making all your lovely creations and thank you Pixie Faire for giving us all the tools to enable all of us to create,

My favorite sewing tip is like several of the others. Always have iron ready and press, press, press.
When preparing to sew on a gathered skirt to sew a gathering stitch along the waist edge above and below the 1/4 inch permanent sewing line. Helps make the gathering to be more even and aids in the ease of permanent sewing.
My favorite sewing tip is to sew a line of stitches along a fold line before pressing the fold into place. It’s particularly helpful with 1/4" folds since it ensures accuracy of depth for better fit and avoids finger burns. If your machine has a basting stitch, that can be used and then easily removed after pressing.
I have no favorite sewing tips I like them all. I can learn from every tip.
My favorite tip is to shop the thrift stores and resale shops. I get some of the most beautiful fabric for .50-$1.00 a yard. I can enjoy my hobby without feeling like I’m breaking my budget. I also shop for leather purses to deconstruct into shoes, boot, purses, and vests. Infant and children’s clothing can also be repurposed into really unique doll clothes. I look for ones in like new condition with embroidery and embellishments that will enhance my pattern and make the dolls clothes a one of a kind original.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is… To always have my iorn ready to press down seams.
