My favorite sewing tip is to sew for the joy of sewing and creating. I broke my arm in October and have been laid up for 2 months. Boy have I missed sewing! It will be a couple more weeks before I get back to it. I am dying to make a Marry Poppins Returns outfit for my doll.
Since I do a lot of embroidery I always keep some small pieces of tear away stabilizer nearby my sewing machine to put between the fabric and the sewing foot for stability. Keeps the project right where I want it.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is.your iron is your friend. Press everything and between each step for a cleaner more professional look.
My favorite sewing tip is to use the right size needle for your fabric.
Mon truc ou astuce de couture préféré est la patience.
My favorite tip is to smile and have fun while you are sewing.
My favorite sewing trick or tip is a French seam
My favorite sewing tip or trick is using coffee filters when either starting a seam or the complete seam on lightweight fabric that would normally get pulled down into the feed dogs.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to place a coffee filter beneath small fabric pieces to keep them from getting caught in the needle.
….share your love of sewing with others!
My newest favorite tip is to copy patterns onto plastic sheet protectors for fussy cutting projects.
My favorite sewing tip is using the 1/4 " pressure foot, It makes such a difference.
My sewing tip is to always read the instructions before starting and lay out all pattern pieces according to item, for example, if the pattern is for jeans and a top, lay the jeans pattern together with it’s fabric and the shirt patterns with it’s fabric. Make sure your pins are nice and sharp. I also try to shut the phone off, if I feel I can, so as not to get a hundred interruptions while sewing.I hate to leave a project and have to go back to it.
My favorite sewing tip is to have a good comfortable chair adjusted to the right height. Decreases back stress.
Favorite Tip: Save your back! I place 2 rubber door stops underneath my machine in the back to slant my machine a bit to take the bend out of my back while sewing. The slightly angled view allows me to sit straighter and more comfortably.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to get the projects you HAVE to do done and out of the way, so you can enjoy the projects you WANT to do.
My favorite sewing tip is to repurpose material from outgrown or discarded clothing. My granddaughter loves it when she gets a doll outfit made from a shirt or dress or jeans that comes back to life to become part of her doll’s wardrobe.
My tip is come here to get your tips, lots of good advice. I can’t think of one that’s not already covered.
My favorite current sewing tip, I picked up a new way to tie a knot in thread for hand sewing from Cinnamon.
My favorite sewing tip is use your imagination when finishing a project- don’t be afraid to select materials with an unusual design or to embellish items for a unique final product, Even dolls like to standout from the crowd. It.s a girl thing.
My tip is one I learned Sewing with Cinnamon—-use a coffee filter underneath when sewing knits seams or even just a small piece of a pattern to keep the fabric from getting pulled into the needle hole. It tears off really easily and gives you better control on your seam line
Keep your scissors pins and needles sharp!
My sewing tip is to use metal disks I purchased at a home improvement store as pattern weights instead of pinning the material to the pattern. It is so much faster.
My favorite sewing tip is to always have the iron close by. I can’t sew without an iron.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to keep all of the sewing supplies that I need where I can get it easy if I need it.
My favorite sewing tip is have patience, press as you go and snip threads as you go.
My favorite sewing tip is to be organized. I like to have my project and all the pieces (including thread, bobbin, pins, scissors etc.) in a box or basket before I begin.
My favorite sewing trick is about adding sleeves to any garment, doll size or people size. Sewing the sleeves onto the bodice while it’s still flat is so much easier than trying to insert them later.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to change your machine needle frequently!
My favorite sewing tip is to make sure I have everything I need before I start. Then I can just enjoy what I’m working on.

My favourite tip/s have been mentioned over and over here but I’ve learned quite a few new ones. Thanks. So my new tip: never think you know it all; there’s always something new which makes sewing a little better. Thank goodness for the Internet.
My favourite sewing trip is to MEASURE before you sew!
My favorite sewing tip or trick is twofold: measure before cutting and iron/press as you go.
When making garments, whether for dolls or others, make sure you measure the body to ensure a good fit. Not all dolls are created the same size. It’s easy to follow pattern pieces but tough to only guess they will fit.
Pressing as you go saves time in the long run. When you iron, you make it easier to fit the pieces of your project together. Pattern pieces look better when seamed together smoothly.
My favorite tip is to take your time and enjoy your work. It’ll make your work better and you’ll feel great about it when you’re done.
My favourite tip is to be PATIENT! Sewing can get frustrating at the beginning but if you are patient you will reward yourself with a cute outfit made by YOU
My favorite trick is to go through a box my Mother left me me with bits of ribbon and lace and buttons. Then I incorporate them in to the design for the doll garments. It honors her and brings her close to her great grandchildren.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is don’t skip the pressing – ironing keeps everything neat and more accurate
My favourite sewing tip is to press before sewing on doll clothes. It saves a lot of time
My favorite sewing tip is always cut thread tails off and line bodices for a more finished look. If that’s not possible I use my serger
My favorite tip is to press and press all through the project.
My favorite tip is to press each seam as you go.
Invest in a loop turner. Great for turning small tubes and pulling thru elastic
Use empty airborne tubes (or tums or similar items) to store sewing machine needles… keeps them neat and handy rather that falling out of packages.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is..to use the ruler guards for rotary cutting (ask me how I know)
My favourite sewing tip is to use newsprint paper for tracing patterns onto. This saves the patterns and allows them to be used a lot longer than they normally would… especially if you sew that pattern a lot :)
my best tip is to press everything before starting. Fabric, laces, interlining etc.
I love to use African porcupine quills. One end is really thin, sharp, and flat and great for arranging gathers as you sew, it slides right under the presser foot. The other end is rounded and great for turning sleeves, etc right side out. The porcupines release the quills naturally. These can be found on etsy.
My favorite tip is to use Command picture hanging strips as seam guides.
My favorite sewing tip is to be curious & keep on trying. Mistakes may happen but dont give up.
My favorite sewing tip is to snip threads after every seam. Keeps everything neater as I sew and no big snipping session when I am done.
My favorite sewing tip is to use clips instead of pins, whenever possible.
My favorite sewing tip is to use zigzag over a loose thread to gather dresses or sleeves.
My favorite sewing tip is to never stop learning. No matter how long you’ve been sewing, there’s always something else you can learn.
My favorite tip is to make sure to use the right needle for the job.
My best tip is pressing and sewing to give the doll clothes a professional look.
My favorite tip is check out a thrift/“Goodwill” store and looking thru the baby/small child clothes (for tiny prints or embellishments). I have found several 2nd hand garments to re-purpose that make really cute outfits for cheaper than buying new material.
My best tip is pressing and sewing to give the doll clothes a professional look.
My favorite sewing tip is get organized for the project before you cut it out, making sure you have everything to complete the outfit! Nothing more frustrating than realizing you can’t finish without a shopping trip!
My favorite sewing tip or trick is lining the bidice whenever possible. Makes it look nice and tidy.
My favorite sewing tip is to use finger tip moistener used for counting things like money when turning from wrong side to right to get the sewn edges all the way out. Or, you can just moisten your fingertip with your tongue. 😜
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to use my hair straightening iron to iron small seams and doll clothes.
My favorite tip is to use freezer paper to make pattern pieces for slippery and hard to cut fabric. A warm iron will lightly stick the pieces to the fabric and make them easier to cut, then peel off.
My favorite sewing tip is measure twice and cut once and always use your iron for crisp seams
Let the fabric guide your design.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is using a metal hem gauge to quickly and easily press hems before stitching.
My favorite tip is: using spray starch on the fabric to keep it from fraying and stretching as much.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is the one Janet F mentioned about using dental floss to gather ruffles.
My favorite sewing tip when sewing doll clothes is to use a quarter inch presser foot as most doll patterns use 1/4" seam allowance. You obtain a better fitting garment this way.
My favorite sewing is for my doll. She is the best dressed .
Rekao and enjoy the quiet time.
To enjoy it!
Don’t rush. Take your time and enjoy the process!

My favorite sewing tip or trick is using the little clips instead of pins whenever I can. It has saved many pricks to my fingers and are easy to use.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is using sew-in interfacing to make “templates” of my most used patterns. I use pellon #40 mostly…it is light and flexible. I use it like tracing paper over the pattern; draw all of the needed marks and lines and pattern info onto it, and most of the time, I don’t even need to pin it on the fabric. But if I do, it doesn’t get worn out like tissue paper!
Cute outfits. Always oil your machine.
My favorite sewing tip is this is for fun — so enjoy it
My sewing tip, don’t sew in a hurry, take your time, do everything accurately
Sew with love
My favorite tip would be to be in a good mood when you sew. Yes, read the directions. Yes, have your iron ready. Yes, fix your mistakes immediately. But never, never never see when you’re msd or in a rotten mood. I can’t see anything but lots of mistakes in your future!!
Using creativity
My favorite sewing tip or trick is zig zag stitching over dental floss for super easy gathering!
My favorite sewing tip is to read the pattern through before you start your project. Make sure you have everything before you begin so you don’t have to run to the fabric and lose valuable time!
My favorite sewing tip is to follow the pattern layout of the pattern pieces on my fabric by reading very carefully.
My favorite sewing trick is listening to the radio or similar as I hand stitch. Extra enjoyment!
My favorite sewing tip is the simplest: slower sewing=faster results (to avoid ripping out seams and redoing). Thank you to all the experts who have included these wonderful tips for me to try – love reading them and will definitely follow many.

My comment is i enjoy reading the comments and getting good information
One of my favorite sewing tips: When you need to fold a seam on the seam line as in a facing or such— first iron the seam open, it turns much easier on the seam line.

My favorite sewing tip or trick is to iron as you sew. My seamstress aunt once said when sewing you should think of your iron the same as you do your sewing machine. Essential to your finished product.
