I shop for fabrics from the local thrift shops, especially knits which are very difficult to find here. I find other nice things that can be used for the dolls there too.
I shop for doll notions in many places, Pixie Faire, Joann’s, etsy, etc.
I look for doll size notions at my fabricland but also source them from our annual Ujamaa grandmas fabric and yarn sale where people donate all kinds of fabric, yarn, patterns, notions etc.
I shop Wal Mart and Hobby Lobby mostly but have a big stash of zippers from estates.
I shop for doll size printed fabric at the local quilt shop. Good quality, right size prints.
I shop for my doll supplies at Pixie Faire because you have everything!
I have the hardest time finding any notions. When you live in a small town it is a major ordeal to get to a big city just for the things we need to “play”. This was a great idea to get us the info we need to buy online. Thanks a bunch.
I usually shop at Jo-Ann or Hobby Lobby for fabric and notions.
I have the hardest time finding clear Velcro.
I shop for doll supplies at my local Hobby Lobby or get things out of my stash.
I have the hardest time finding printed material for 18" doll clothes. Most prints are too large.
I find doll size zippers in the Home Sew Catalog, but they don’t always have what I need. Having the perfect size notion can make or break the look of an outfit. Pixie Faire is a great resource, for sure.
I shop for doll supplies wherever I can find them. I use the thrift stores in our small town. I also have ordered from Home Sew for years.
I have the hardest time finding doll sized buckles. I sometimes get lucky online, but once I find a place, and I get ready to buy, they are either sold out or discontinued.
I mostly shop for supplies on Etsy. I like to support small businesses. If I want to just kind of browse I usually go to JoAnns, because there is no independent business around me that I know off selling small notions.
I always try to shop my stash (I’ve accumulated things for many years as well as having things from my mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother) before shopping anywhere else.
I shop for doll supplies at zipper that doll and Pixie Faire. I have the hardest time finding laces and trims that are narrow enough for dolls. It is frustrating to have a vision and be unable to find supplies. I have used several of your pixie packs, and it is very convenient to have everything you need when you start a project! Thanks so much for all you do!
Being the spendthrift I am, I shop for small buttons in my grandmother’s old button box, on clothes at Goodwill, and when absolutely necessary, I go to Joann’s.
I love to embellish the doll clothes with buttons of every size. Living in a small town Joann’s is my main source, so I watch for their BOGO’s for buttons, I also make purses resembling Chanel bags and have been known to use the chains from real gold bracelets from my daughter and myself for the straps.
I shop for doll supplies at Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, Goodwill, and thrift stores. I love to shop for fabric and supplies but my favorite fabrics are the retro ones that I have recycled from left over fabrics from other projects or saved fabric from my grandmother.
I have a hard time finding anything doll-sized for sewing. Usually I improvise. Now of course, I may need to order online.
I shop for my doll clothes supplies everywhere. Joannes, michaels, hobby lobby, pixie faire, walmart, etc. I have even repurposed old clothing of mine and my childrens into doll clothes!
I have the hardest time finding small notions to complement the doll clothes.
I do my shopping at Joann’s. Old baby clothes is a good source. For the loop and hook tape I cut it in half.
I have a hard time finding buttons, trims that are small enough. I usually just order everything online. I use Pixie Faire, Home Sew from Cinnamon’s list, Martha’s fabrics in Ohio has really nice fabric, Two Bee’s Sewing in Texas has period fabric, Burnley & Towbridge in Willamsburg has so much period fabric and notions.
My best source for doll trims has been household auctions. I’ve gotten boxes of stuff from those!
I have the hardest time finding doll size buttons. The ones I find are not good quality and do not add anything to the garment
I shop for cute printed knit fabric in the clearance section of stores. Usually in the children’s section which gives me the correct scale for dolls!
I shop for my sewing supplies at Joann’s, Michaels, Walmart and even find things at Goodwill!
I have a hard tie finding the notions needed to compliment the patterns.
I shop for buttons and lace at our local Jo ann’s store but pretty much anything else I have to go on line. Zippers and the small soft velcro is not possible in my area so I get them on line. Small yarn is also an issue unless you want sock yarn, that seems to be plentiful but I don’t use it in case a child is allergic to wool.
I shop for fabric, trims, thread etc monstly at Joann’s but I always shop for doll patterns on PixieFaire.
I shop for tiny zippers at zipperthatdoll.com
I have the hardest time finding trims in the size/color required for certain patterns and up having to “make do” with what my local store carries.
I shop for all doll sized notions at Home Sew, CR Crafts or Joanne’s. Thank you Cinnamon for this awesome opportunity.
I have the hardest time finding small scale prints especially in knits.

I have a hard time finding the notions used to accent the doll patterns.
I have the hardest time finding tiny buttons. They seem to be poor quality or very limited styles and color choices.
I usually shop for doll sized notions everywhere I go. I use the fabric store like Jo Ann’s and the Mom & Pop places, even on vacation with my husband. He brings hi Sudoku and waits for me while I shop. I will also check Walmart, Michael’s, thiift stores, yard sales, scrapbooking departments, toy stores, etc. I am not too proud if there is a possibility of finding affordable notions and accessories. My husbands rule with my “business”/ hobby is “break even” Of course I purchased my separating zippers from Pixie Faire.
I shop for doll supplies at Goodwills, thrift stores, and Hobby Lobby and Joann. I am always on the lookout for shirts with tiny buttons, and have been known to raid my family’s closets for notions :) I was having a hard time finding doll sized buckles, then found notions that worked on narrow adjustable purse handles, and some on lanyards.
My granddaughter is a quilter and has supplied me with unused fat quarters. They have come in so handy now that I am making things for a younger granddaughter’ s 18" doll. I usually can find what I don’t have at Joann’ s.
Good Morning!
I shop for doll size zippers online at places recommended by Cinnamon. This weekend I plan to order 3" zippers and another Pixie Faire pattern:)
I think finding any doll-scale items is challenging so I’m always on the lookout, anywhere and everywhere. My daughter jokes that I think in doll-scale. So if I see something doll-sized that’s affordable, I add it to my stash. Sometimes I’ll check clearance racks of children’s clothes for cheap apparel to take apart and remake in doll items.
I also spend a lot of time evaluating fabrics for the right thickness, drape, pattern scale, etc. The right fabric can make or break a doll sewing project.
The only fabric store we have is a quilting store, they do not handle many notions. The closest fabric store is about an hour away in a big city. I have not had any luck with ordering on line. Our thrift store has some fabric and notions, mostly for larger sewing projects.
I have the hardest time finding fabric with prints on scale and a fine and soft velcro.

I shop for notions at Lobby, JoAnn’s and Wal-Mart. I also recycle old clothes for trim, buttons and lace.
I shop for doll making supplies anywhere I can find a good deal on material. I purchased
cute material at a small independent fabric shop for making doll purses. I haven’’t used a zipper for anything doll sized yet, so I haven’t had to try to find those.
I always start at my local craft/sewing stores but would like more variety. Pixie Faire is my next stop and then I’m all over the internet looking for more!
I shop for my doll supplies at home sew and zipper that doll. They have most of what I need. I love home sew because like Pixie Faire they are American/ christian based. I love the service and shipping is always quick.
i have the hardest time finding middy braid. I shop at Joann’s as it is the closest but am often disappointed in the selection of sewing notions etc.

I shop for my supplies on Amazon or Walmart. I also recycle my old clothes that don’t fit or have rips into new doll clothes.

I shop foe.most of my small doll notions from Home Sew. They carry a lot of doll supplies.
I usually start here at PixieFaire in hopes of finding a link. Another good place is your local, Goodwill, Salvation Army or used goods store., I often find a child’s sweater that can be cut to make a doll sweater, leather purses that can be cut to doll jackets etc. And it’s usually cheap! Also buy the largest ladies underwear at the dollar store. You can usually make several dolly pairs complete with elastic already in the right places.
I shop for doll thing at my Joann store in Woodridge. Have never one anything.
I cut velcro strips in half, too. I usually shop at Joann or Hobby Lobby.
I have the hardest time finding the doll size buckles, in fact I have never seen any. I do shop the local thrift store for new or slightly used baby clothes. The prints and stripes are small and the trim is perfectly coordinated.

I shop for all my supplies at Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, Micheal’s, my local quilt store and the internet. I have so many resources. lol But the hardest thing for me to find is a good variety of lace trims in sizes and colors.
I shop for the supplies mostly at Joann’s or Hobby Lobby but occasionally online
I have to order most of my doll size zippers as well as hangers from the States. We don’t seem to stock the smaller shorter items up here in Canada. I use Nancy’s Notions quite a bit.
I did have the hardest time finding zippers, until today. I’ll be looking at the two places you listed above—thank you! I think I don’t utilize the internet to find doll items like I should. Like many, I go to thrift shops and repurpose, shop at Hobby Lobby and quilt shops, look for trim at sewing places like JoAnn’s. Thanks again for this great opportunity to win something!
I buy most all my doll making supplies at JoAnns. I have some tiny zippers, but I haven’t made anything that needs them, yet!!
…anywhere I can find a good deal, Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, garage and estate sales and even flea markets!
I have shopped for my doll supplies various places – Joann’s, Home Sew, Nancy’s Notions and of course, Pixie.

I shop for fabric at Joann and Hobby Lobby. I have never put in a zipper for a doll.
I shop for dollmaking supplies at http://Dollmakersjourney.com. I used to run this business with my partner, Mary Ann Kaahanui. We spent years searching all over the world for the perfect tools, notions, and patterns. We have since retired and sold the business to our good friend, Paul Phalen. I noticed several days ago that many of you wanted to know how to resize patters to fit other dolls. At this website they sell a tool called the Proportional Scale. If you click on tools, then on the drop down click on proportional scale, I wrote an explanation on how to resize patterns to fit any doll and find the perfect sized accessory for any size doll. They also sell tiny grommets for doll shoes, and many other things you might find useful. Good luck in this contest, and thank you Cinnamon for making this interaction possible.
I have the hardest time finding doll size separating zippers. Thank you for offering these gifts. I enjoy looking at all the patterns and appreciate the time that the creators have put into them. Thank you!
