My biggest sewing challenge is not having a dedicated sewing area set up.”
My biggest sewing challenge is prompting myself to sew, sometimes the hardest part is getting things started !
My biggest sewing challenge is resisting buying pretty fabrics when I have 4 medium totes of fabrics. Alson finishing my projects that I start.
As many said, my biggest sewing challenge is working with very small pieces. Now that I have a Blythe doll to dress, I feel that sewing for the AG dolls was a breeze by comparison! The Neo Blythe body is like a Barbie/Skipper sort of mix. Few patterns exist for these dolls. But Pixie has some and I have started, but the pieces are very small so I need some tricks to this particular trade!
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing a project before I start a new one.
My biggest challenge is getting motivated since COVID
I guess my biggest challenge for sewing doll clothes is getting small notions. I am able to sew zippers or what ever, but a jacket sized zipper is either really expensive or just can’t find anything like that.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting started, finding all the supplies that I need and setting up my sewing area. I do not have a dedicated sewing area or room to work in as we now live in a very small home so I set up on the kitchen table which is not working out well for me.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing projects. I have a bad habit of abandoning projects to start new ones
My biggest sewing challenge is organization. I can never seem to find what I need in my sewing area.
My biggest sewing challenge is trying to find 1/4 inch buttons in Canada shipping and import duties are prohibitive. .In the 70’s it was easy to find wonderful " Viyella "and fine cotton with delicate prints for doll and children’s dresses as well as tiny trims. We live in rural Ontario so seldom get to Toronto.
My biggest challenge in sewing is choosing white fabric to use. Finding some time.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the right fabric for my projects! Currently, there is ONE fabric shop in this city (yes, I said city). A quilting shop just opened, but that’s rarely suited to clothing. sigh…
I have had to totally change the way my brain looks at fabric; I can’t go in with a specific fabric in mind, rather, I have to browse and hunt for a lovely fabric, then decide what I could use it for. NOT a safe way to shop these days!
As for online shopping…huh! I need to assess the ‘hand’….I need to touch the fabric. See? Challenges all ’round.

My biggest sewing challenge is gathering. For some reason I don’t like doing it and I always end up sewing patterns that have a lot of it! When I did the Pretty Pilgrim, I just about died when I realized how much gathering there was on that outfit. But the more I do it, the less flustered about it I get about it. My other challenge is time- there never seems to be enough of it!
My biggest sewing challenge: “making the first step to get started.”. I tend to overthink the project, do research, change my mind about fabrics etc. however once I start cutting out the pattern- away I go.
My biggest sewing challenge is using up my fabric stash before I go buy other fabrics! I am especially challenged when I see quilting fabrics I like when I have a whole bunch of quilt projects on the go! Same goes for making doll clothes. Too many patterns I have material to use to make, then I go and buy more patterns and material!
My biggest sewing challenge: it’s a toss up between buttonholes and sewing on stretchy fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is zippers and buttonholes! I feel I could be unstoppable if I mastered these skills.
My biggest sewing challenge at the moment is organizing my embroidery designs in a way that I can quickly find them.As a senior I have not developed as many computer skills as sewing skills
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing what I start
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing lightweight fabric without wrecking it.
My biggest challenge is time to see right now my see room in chaos mood due yesterday we set up tv for Roku yes it was unexpected Christmas gift so now I can watch while I am thank you Swc team for this upgrade
My biggest sewing challenge is organizing my sewing room so that I can find all the fabulous supplies I have purchased! Some days it’s like being lost in the forest.
My biggest sewing challenge is putting in zippers. Never happy with
How they look.
My biggest sewing challenge is understanding the different types of fabrics and which designs the fabrics will work best with.
My biggest sewing challenge is time…to sew all the things I have in my mind~
My problem is finding the time to sew when I have so many other things that occupy my time. I will have to make time for it somehow in this new year!
My problem is finding the time to sew when I have so many other things that occupy my time. I will have to make time for it somehow in this new year!
My biggest sewing challenge is light fabric with spandex.
My biggest challenge is trying to teach my granddaughter how to sew the gathered sleeves in such a small semi circle. It takes a lot of precision and stopping and starting adjusting the fabric.
My biggest problem is organization to the space available.
“My biggest sewing challenge is zippers. The tutorials make the process look so easy but my zippers never come out even and straight the first time. I always have to unpick and redo some section of the zipper.
Probably sewing slippery/gauzy fabrics and zippers
My biggest challenge is finishing what I make. I have several unfinished projects waiting for hemming and button holes.
My biggest sewing challenge is affording all the fabrics I want and then trusting myself to work out the details of the things I’ve designed in my head. Trusting my own knowledge and experience enough to try the things I want to. Also time to complete things.
My biggest sewing challenge is zippers, which I used to do full size many decades ago. I plan to study the zipper tutorial and get my skill back. I find the tutorials either teach me something new or refresh my old skills…I use them on making children’s clothing also.
My biggest sewing challenge is just doing it
My biggest sewing challenge is closures on the doll clothes. Everything is so small.
My biggest challenge is working on just one project at a time. I always end up beginning another project before I fihish the previous.
My biggest sewing challenge is doing hand stitching with “trigger fingers” (fingers that lock up at times).
My biggest challenge is making my design ideas a reality.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with any fabric that stretches Ora is sheer. I can never get a smooth look to my seams and hems.
Biggest challenge is having enough time . . .
My biggest challenge is making the vent on the back of a blazer. I just can’t seem to get the correct angle to capture the fabric for a clean finished look inside and out.
Still having trouble with fancy fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping my sewing room ( fabric, patterns, tools) organized so that my sewing time is efficient.
Would love to win. I have grand-nieces I can sew doll clothes for and love doing so.
My biggest challenge is finding small print fabrics and tiny notions. Normal fabric and hobby stores often don’t have small enough things.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing projects.
My biggest sewing challenge is making button holes!
My biggest sewing problem is thinking I can do more than I can when it comes to purchasing fabric and sewing it up.
My biggest sewing challenge is the fabric. I have the tools, but I need more practice with the silky and stretchy types.
My biggest sewing challenge is my old fingers and eyes working with little pieces
Like Mary my biggest challenge is alterations. I love the classes available and the patterns on Pixie Faire!
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the fabrics I need. Joann rarely has what I need and buying online I rarely actually get what I think I ordered. Especially KNITS! Always to thin or too thick…. Can’t find what I want.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing knits. Difficult to keep them from stretching and rippling!
My biggest challenge is perfect, even gathers on set-in sleeves.
One of my current sewing challenges is finding fabric that my granddaughters like to match doll clothes patterns that they like.
My biggest sewing challenge is having time to make everything I want. I always walk through the fabric stores and get inspired, but don’t have the time to make everything I would like.
My biggest sewing challenge is gathering tulle for ballerina outfits
My biggest challenge is to make time for sewing.
Doing smaller things my hands don’t work so well any more and tiny hems are a problem
My biggest challenge is alterations. Making clothes smaller in one place and larger in another seems to boggle my mind.
My biggest sewing challenge is machine buttonholes. For some reason I can never get them straight or evenly spaced or properly aligned. I’m better at hand sewn or bound buttonholes but I find myself using snaps or Velcro instead. I’d like to learn how to sew them right!
Like Shar, my biggest sewing problem is my machine. I paid a lot of $$ and it makes me crazy sometimes. It is fine on regular 5/8" seams but no so friendly with the 1/4 ". Ugh!!
I have loved the patterns purchased through Pixie Faire. I’ve made quite a few for my granddaughters and for a doll that was donated to a silent auction. I love seeing what’s new!
My biggest sewing challenge is easing curves to fit each other to sew the seam, clipping the seam allowance, etc. I “seems” like one side or another just has sooooo much more fabric that supposed to fit.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew. I enjoy it, but have so many other hobbies I enjoy also. I don’t know how I managed it when I worked full time, now that I’m retired I seem to be more busy.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with fabrics that slide around, like satin. No matter how many pins I use, the fabric always seems to move while I am sewing.
My biggest sewing challenge is doing something right the first time and not have to pull out stitches.
My biggest sewing challenge is turning little tubes of fabric right-side out after sewing. I’ve tried many methods, but nothing seems to work every time.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing tight corners and angles. I honestly don’t know how other sewers can do 14 inch dolls and barbie doll sizes.
My biggest challenge is button holes! I could do them on my old machine..no problem!
My best challenge is finding space to set up my sewing machine and finding time to finish the projects once started. Ideas continuously flood my head keeping me jumping from one thing to an other.
My biggest sewing challenge is making time to sew. I used to spend one day a week with my sewing buddy, but since her death, I haven’t set aside a sewing time. It’s time to get back to it.
My biggest sewing challenge is making sewing a priority.
My biggest sewing challenge is doing the finishing touches on a garment such as sewing on buttons, buttonholes, sewing on snaps. It isn’t hard, I just don’t like doing it. The other thing is getting things to fit me correctly.
My biggest sewing challenge is knit fabric. It still intimidates me more than any other fabric.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the space to work.
My biggest challenge is committing time each day to sewing!!
My biggest challenge was when I decided to go pro, it has been hard to make the time necessary to complete the sewing process. I have ADD, In trying to run my icon art business and corsetry business is hard to juggle.
My biggest sewing challenge is spandex & skip stitches or my machine eating the fabric.
My biggest challenge is finding items I need to finish my sewing projects.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time.
My biggest challenge is having enough confidence in my abilities to get a pattern started. I have many of them but have only started a couple. I’m always worried about them not coming out the way they should.
My biggest sewing challenge is not enough time to do all the different things I want to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is completing projects.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting my machine to work. Most of the time it is nesting, or the pedal pauses, or needles break. I have a new bobbin case on back order and hope it helps some of the problems. I wish I still had my better quality machines!!!
Currently my machine needing repair. Normally time and room.
My biggest sewing challenge is working with various materials-knits, silks, taffeta, wool, and those thin slippery ones.
My biggest sewing challenge is buttonholes- I would like each one to have the end bar tacks to consistently span the entire width.
My biggest sewing challenge is light spandex, or slippery fabric. No matter how I try, my machine eats it.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting the elastic sewn correctly when making panties, just can’t get the placement right.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the fabric that I would like. I also wish I had more time to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is first keeping my sewing room in enough order to sew and find things. Then finishing projects before I start another; then finishing projects rather than being called to new ones. Technique wise, sewing slinky and sequin fabrics is my biggest challenge.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding uninterrupted time to sew.
Having enough time to sew is my challenge!
My biggest sewing challenge besides finding enough time to work on what I love but finding tiny embroidery designs to compliment dresses. I’d like to edge a Christmas skirt but can’t seem to find the right scallop
