I don’t have a serger and have difficulty sewing sheer fabrics connecting gathered skirts to the tops of a dress—especially the ones that have a lot of sizing on them
I don’t have a serger and have a lot of difficulty sewing sheer fabrics , especially the ones with a lot of sizing on them
Buttonholes, they’re too much so basically I just avoid them!
My biggest sewing challenge is using slippery fabrics.
Buttonholes! I love the look, especially with historic dresses. Unfortunately, my buttonhole make is impossible to use. Multi-steps, many pages, useless photos and no U-tube site to watch. It truly was an afterthought. The 2 things I would insist upon in a new machine would be “retaining a tension” and “making buttonholes.” Is there another why to make button holes with a machine?
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with knits, and zippers. Hoping to do a couple courses this year sewing with cinnamon.
My biggest sewing challenge is my own disorganization. I can barely get into my sewing/junk room, and I can never find the fabric I am looking for (stashed all over the house/storage locker). Sigh.
My biggest sewing challenge is often finding the right fabric for doll clothes especially!
My biggest sewing challenge is to strive for perfection and that isn’t going to happen since life isn’t perfect. We are our own worst enemy and need to be happy that a project was finished and looks great. Others that don’t sew can’t find the flaws that bother us sewers and are happy with the results.
I my biggest challenge for sewing doll clothes is getting small notions. Also getting the right fabric.
My biggest sewing challenge right now is floaty sheers like chiffon. I can sew them, but it’s always a challenge, and it’s not enjoyable, so I tend to avoid them like the plague. Give me knits, give me faux fur, I just don’t want anything to do with chiffon.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing off seams since I no longer have a Serger.
My biggest sewing challenge is cleaning off my cutting table so I can use it for its intended purpose!
My biggest sewing challenge(s) is time and space.
I still work full time for a not-for-profit and I am very involved with my younger grandchildren. As for space, I live in a small 2 bedroom home. I use one of the bedrooms as my sewing/storage room, but I often cut all my material out on my kitchen island.
Finding time to sew
My biggest sewing challenge is everything about buttonholes
My biggest sewing challenge is thin knits.
My biggest sewing challenge is no time
My biggest challenge is to decide which sewing/embroidery/quilting project to work on as there are so many techniques available on my machines.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing on stretchy fabrics. I have trouble with the bottom layer of fabric stretching and leaving my pieces uneven. It is also hard to find a place to sew where my 3 grandchildren, all 4 y.o. and under, can’t get into things, like needles, pins, scissors, etc.
My biggest sewing problem is which American Girl project to make next. So many I want to do and not enough time to do them.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing knits. Often my machine skips stitches while trying to sew on knits. I never feel that I know exactly what I should be doing with knits.
My biggest sewing challenge is Spandex! or any knit that stretches two ways. At the moment I avoid that kind of fabric!
My huge challenge is limiting my purchase of new and interesting fabrics though I already have enough to last till I am 238; my husband is currently doing a curbside pick-up at Joanns and I have 2 loaded carts just waiting for me to click on the PURCHASE NOW button online. Having been the manager of a So-Fro Fabrics store (1980-1994), I also find it difficult to gauge the appropriate size of the motifs seeing a photo of fabrics online.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting my sewing area organized so I can find what I already know I have bought. I keep trying to make it better and I am determined to get it really organized this year so I can be more productive and finish projects.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting time to work on all the projects I want to work on. Sewing is therapeutic for me and I need to make a plan and stick to it!

My biggest sewing challenge these days is keeping my hands steady while cutting and sewing. Parkinson’s is no fun.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to start a project.
My biggest sewing challenge is Getting Organized
Marion
My biggest sewing challenge is adjusting the tension on my sewing machine.
My biggest sewing challenge is making fabric choices.
My biggest sewing challenge is choosing what I want to make first!
My biggest sewing challenge is just getting started. There are so many things to do throughout the day that just finding the time to set down in front of my sewing machine is a challenge.
finding time to sew
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing tiny barbie doll clothes, especially knits, with their tiny seams.
My biggest sewing challenge was invisible zippers. Now I can sew them. Now to get me back in the mood to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is tailoring a jacket.
My biggest sewing challenge is deciding what to make – so many ideas and so much fabric!
My biggest problem is time & getting my sewing room cleaned up as my grandkids love to sew & we go from one project to another & it’s hard to keep up to the organization!
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing edges and making gathers. I usually look for patterns and fabrics that don’t need it or don’t have it.
My biggest problem is getting started. I need to be more organized.
My biggest sewing challenge is time. I also have trouble with the top stitching..
My biggest challenge is usually starting something. Once I cut out my idea, I have a hard time putting the project down until it is completed. But that initial fear that the idea won’t work… !!
My biggest challenge is finding to time to sew
My biggest problem is making the time to start a project. I always feel like there will be too many interruptions so I don’t begin most of the time.
Time….then finding supplies online and hoping I have the right size…lastly storage for the little bits.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing zippers. I have just watched your class and am ready to spend the next week practicing what I’ve learnt.
My challenge is sleeves on 18” doll dresses
I am very intimated by button holes. I always have shyed away from them so I probably need more practice. I just joined SWC so I’m hoping to get some tips. Very excited about what I will learn this year.
My biggest challenge is not starting too many projects at a time. Finish what I have started..

My biggest sewing challenge is collars. It is difficult for me to get the curves, points and/or topstitching to be perfect!
My biggest sewing challenge is buttonholes.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time with watching 6 of my 8 grandkids and staying organized.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting the energy to sew. I have a chronic illness that prevents me from being able to do a lot of things I want to do. The biggest challenge specifically related to sewing is sewing through bulky fabrics with many layers. The needle just doesn’t want to go through and doesn’t like keeping the fabric laying flat.
Which needle to use for which fabric weight and type.
“My biggest sewing challenge is remembering that I have a lot of fabric at home and deciding to purchase more anyway. I think I have enough fabric to sew for 25 years!!!
My biggest sewing challenge is I hate cutting out the pattern! Actually, it’s cutting into my fabric hoard!
My biggest sewing challenge is specialty fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is having one area for all the supplies that I need.
Guess what my New Year’s resolution is!
Thank you for all the freebies and tutorials!
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to create what’s in my head
Cleaning up the mess that I make.
Finding time to do projects plus learn my new machine
My biggest sewing obstacle is organization, or lack thereof
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with sheer fabrics, controlling slipping and hemming.
My biggest sewing challenge is figuring out how much tulle fabric to cut when using a ruffler foot for ballet tutus for dolls.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew.
my biggest sewing challenge is finding the supplies that I need locally. We don’t have a lot of options here in my area, so I often have to purchase things online, which ends up costing a lot to get it shipped here.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the space and time to sew!
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing for 12” and smaller dolls. I’m not knowledgeable about sewing by hand and machine sewing for these size dolls is very challenging!
My biggest challenge is using my serger. I need to learn how to adjust the tension & to use my serger more effectively.
My biggest sewing challenge is deciding WHAT to start first.
Thanks for the tutorials to help us with our projects.
I tend to avoid sheer or slippery fabrics are they are very difficult to sew with. Multiple layers can also be a challenge but workable.
My biggest sewing challenge is sustaining motivation! I have a lot of projects I want to do but since I’m a beginner, even the easy steps take a while. And once I have to take care of something else or go to bed, restarting is rough.
My biggest challenge is making time to sew.
Don’t laugh! Although I try hard to clean up before I leave my sewing/craft room at the end of the day… My biggest problem is that when I walk in to start a project I always find something that I NEED to organize/reorganize! Its not that I actually have OCD, its just that I HAVE to have things organized to be able to work efficiently. I constantly seem to have a new idea of how to make that happen. Maybe someday every little thing will have its perfect place!
My biggest challenge is getting motivated to start sewing again.
My biggest sewing challenge is using fabric before I buy more lol!! There’s so much possibility in fabric but not enough time to make all I want to out of it.
My biggest challenge is sewing knits and sheer fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping an organized workspace, it would be so nice to have a designated area that doesn’t have to be put away all the time.
My biggest sewing chanllenge is finishing what I start.
my biggest sewing challenge is finding space to sew
My biggest sewing challenge is stretchy fabrics and narrow hemming. I just cannot get it right, the more time I put in the worse it looks.
My biggest challenge is finding the space to work – I am a pile it higher and deeper kind of guy, so I have to clean a lot to get started.
My biggest sewing challenge is Keeping my small space organized enough to be able to keep creating more and more!
My biggest sewing challenge is working with material to make a bathing suit and making it look nice _______
My biggest sewing challenge is lack of confidence and wanting perfection.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing on zippers. Even using tricks I end up sewing crooked and it doesn’t look need. I’ve only managed to get a zipper looking good once, but never managed to do it again.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing stretch fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to do as much as I’d like to do!
My biggest sewing challenge is making sure I make the correct sizes for my grandchildren who live out of state and I can’t measure them every time I want to make them something. They grow too fast!
My biggest sewing challenge is sheer fabrics. they shift while sewing_______.
My biggest sewing challenge is making the time to do what I love! I have many 18 inch doll items cut out, just need to get the time!
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge beside finding enough time to sew, is delicate fabrics that fray easily.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting a project started and then finish it once I finally get started. I have a lot of supplies so sometimes it’s hard to get focused on one idea. Then I see another pattern and then I say, " Oh, I want to make that." until I get overwhelmed.
