My biggest sewing challenge is altering patterns. Often I wish to change a waist, sleeve or dart and make a big mess of things!
My biggest sewing challenge – finding the correct size of fabric for the patterns I chose to make! I have found the choice fabric only for it to be 2" too short to use and then I need to find a different pattern to make.
Biggest sewing challenge is to find the time to complete all the sewing projects I have planned.
Life keeps getting in the way. Hopefully 2022 will be more organized.
Same as Frances and William: I get everything ready and then don’t follow through lol
My biggest sewing challenge is fibromyalgia. Having to space task and energy for my project, and not loosing my concentration on the instructions.
My biggest sewing challenge is organization. It seems like everything gets “dumped” into my sewing/craft room to the point that I can’t find ANYTHING when I need it. I just don’t have a good system to organize items into sections. HELP!!! I have a cabinet for fabrics that I sorted by color, and a small dresser for larger pieces. I also have a bookcase for my books and card making supplies, but it is never enough space. I’m constantly moving stuff around so I can even work in there. Even my sewing machines get moved to other rooms. UGH!!! I hope I’m not the only one with this problem.
My biggest sewing challenge right now finding time for all the projects that I want to do.
My biggest sewing challenge is using the embroidery machine and attachments.
My biggest sewing challenge is following the directions since I’m a beginner.
My biggest challenge in sewing is projects that get started with good intentions bur get delayed because orders or life and then I lose interest in finishing that project. Thanks!
My biggest challenge is adding detail. It’s either too big or too small!
Time and space seems to be my biggest challenge. I want to do so many things, but finding the time to finish them seems to be a problem.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with a toddler in the house!
My biggest sewing challenge is time…I’m a slow sewer :)
My biggest sewing challenge is hemming sheer and slippery fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is learning to make doll shoes to go with doll outfit that I make
My biggest challenge is lack of time and space.
I just need to dedicate/set an appointment with myself for a day and time to do what makes me happy and fulfills my need for creativity.
The lack of oraginazation of sewing room and contents is a constant challenge!
My biggest challenge is zippers. I have tried and tried and just cannot get a zipper put in.
My biggest sewing challenge is knowing how to up-size or downsize a pattern (like if I wanted to use an 18in size doll patterns for a welliewisher.)
My biggest challenge is sewing zippers in doll clothing
My biggest sewing challenge is learning to use a serger to work on the small patterns.
My biggest sewing challenge is time management. Sometimes it takes me a lot longer to do something that I think it should. I am an experienced dressmaker, but I feel like I’m slow after all of these years. ;)
My biggest sewing challenge is inertia. I want to sew, but I don’t want to get my machine out, and then put it away at the end of the day. At least I don’t have to put it away before supper, like I used to when the kitchen table was the only table in the house.
My biggest sewing challenge is learning my serger and how to alter patterns.
My biggest sewing challenge is working with sheer material or any material that slips and slides as you try to cut and/or sew it. Unlike other challenges where I would just work with it and continue to practice until I learn it (practice makes perfect) the sheer/slippery material is a challenge I shy away from. Unfortunately, it prevents me from choosing any pattern that needs to be made with that type of material.
My biggest problem is lack of time, even days I think are free something always turns up to spoil the day
Being organized
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to do it!!!!
My biggest sewing challenge is finding enough time to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing one project before I move to the next one. So many wonderful ideas and never enough time !
My biggest sewing challenge is setting in sleeves.
My biggest sewing challenge is trying to accomplish all the sewing and craft ideas I have in my head and still accomplish all the responsibilities of daily life.
My biggest sewing challenge is taking the time to finish projects. I do not enjoy adding closures such as snaps or Velcro.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with stretchy material (like swimming suit material).
My biggest sewing challenge is slippery fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenges are SMALL buttonholes for 1/4" buttons and lining up and
hand-sewing on tiny snaps.
My biggest sewing challenge is just getting started. Once I start a sewing project I’m focused on finishing it. But until I get it started other things I have to do keep jumping in front of it.
My biggest sewing challenge is using the serger to finish some seams of the outfits.
My biggest sewing challenge is using the serger to finish some seams of the outfits.
My biggest challenge is that my machine is not a freearm, makes it harder to sew.
My biggest challenge is that my machine is not a freearm, makes it harder to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is deciding what to make next. There are so many wonderful patterns and fabrics it is very hard to decide what is next.
My biggest sewing challenge is losing interest if a project starts to drag on and on. Hard to be motivated to finish.
My biggest sewing challenge is patience. I want it to be done quickly, then I have to rip stuff out or start over. Then I get frustrated. I have to work on being patient.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time.
My biggest sewing challenge is space.
My biggest sewing challenge is gathers on narrow seam allowances!
I have problems with fraying fabric. I also have some of the same problems as others. Too many ideas, too little time and many interruptions
My biggest challenge is getting over the fear of sewing on knits. Give me any other fabric and I’m fine but hand me a remnant of knit and I’m no thanks.
My biggest challenges are time and the cat. Time to sew and keeping the cat off the cutting board and ironing board. Evain {sissy butt} the most beautiful cat, just loves a warmed up sleeping spot and can freakishly sense a newly cut piece of fabric. Guess I need a true sewing room——— maybe in my next life.
Too many projects I want to do and not enough time to do them would be my greatest sewing challenge…
My biggest sewing challenge is to gather all materials I needed for a garment (buttons, fabric, any matching accessories etc.) And of course, time to start and finish in the same day :)
My biggest sewing challenge is too many ideas and not enough time or skills (yet) to make them!
My biggest problem with sewing is finding enought time to sew all of patterns.
My grandaughters 18" dolls will have an awesome wardrobe when they are old enough!
My biggest sewing challenge is zippers and buttonholes! They are something I’ve always struggled with and avoided rather than learning how to apply them. I’d love a chance to learn!
I can do a basic garment, but my biggest challenge is the detailed ones, matching up pieces and ensuring that the finish is good on my sewing.
My biggest sewing challenge is that I have so many ideas for projects and then so many works in progress, and then not enough time to finish everything! I guess my problem is time and attention management :-)
My biggest challenge is making up my mind what to sew.. What do I want to work on next?
i have trouble getting started
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing whatever projects I start! I end up with a bunch of cut and/or half-sewn projects that I forget about for months because I get so busy with kids/work/life.
My biggest challenge is time management, seems there is never enough time in the day.
My biggest challenge is time. Not only do I work full-time, but I direct a handbell choir, play in another handbell choir, and sing in the church choir, so my evenings are busy!
My biggest sewing challenge is altering things to fit. Maybe because I don’t understand the relation ship of what a change is one part of the garment has on the rest of it.
My biggest sewing challenge is… getting my craft room clean enough to be able to actually start and finish a project there! This put aside, I’d say that my biggest challenge is working with specialty fabric that is hard to sew because it frays and isn’t very stable under the needle like sheer fabric.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with leathers and faux leathers. They either don’t feed properly or they stick to the foot.
My biggest sewing challenge is grading seams on doll-sized clothes.
My biggest challenge is creating my own project. The majority of my projects are made with donated material so you work with what you have to create something. When I think of doing something for myself I am overwhelmed when trying to select material.
My biggest sewing challenge is hem edge finishing on slippery/silky fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is working with knit fabric. It likes to slide or ball up at the beginning of a seam.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding doll-sized zippers and such at REASONABLE prices.
My biggest sewing challenge is selecting material for a project. The majority of the projects I do are made from donated material so you work with what you have to create a scrape quilt. When I look at doing my own project and buying material I can’t make a decision on color, pattern or print.
My biggest sewing challenge is being able to create my own patterns for my dolls. This has always been a dream of mine to make my own patterns for any kind of outfit whether it is Renaissance or modern day. It would be a dream come true to be able to do this for myself.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the best way to finish seams and hemming.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing. I get to doubting my skills and get to a tough place and set aside the project.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time! I still work fulltime and when I’m not working I am helping to care for my elderly parents. But I plan to retire in a year and I have plans! Hope that my only challenge then will be what’s the next project!
My biggest sewing challenge is being able to see! I’m getting older and even after cataract surgery I find it difficult the tiny details, especially when making doll clothes!
My biggest challenge is getting the skills to match the visions in my head. I’m currently having problems sewing bridesmaid dresses for Cinderella Barbie’s wedding to Elf on the Shelf. Yeah – the Elf is sticking around past Christmas until we can get the ceremony done
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping track of the tiny pieces cut out to make garments for Barbie or Ken dolls. Invariably, I end up losing one piece before it gets attached to the main garment, and have to re-cut the missing piece.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting thin tubes turned right side out without seam splits or troubles.
My biggest sewing challenge is time! If only I didn’t have to eat or keep up my human relationships …
My biggest sewing challenge is lack of time to sew everything I want to sew.
My biggest challenge is to find time to sew all the cute patterns I have been getting from Pixie Faire!
My biggest sewing challenge is to persevere with one project until it is completed. There are so many projects I would like to sew and the temptation to hop from one project to another, and thereby not completing anything, is huge!!!!
My biggest sewing challenge is the same as William’s! I too pile it on higher and deeper, so I have to clear a lot to get started. A lot of what I have to clear is the supplies (fabrics and threads and fastenings and trimmings galore) and equipment (machine feet and hand-sewing needles, cutting mat and scissors) and patterns already printed and cut out and bagged and labelled! I am ridiculously well prepared – but not, it seems, so prepared to dive in! It’s tragic…
My biggest sewing challenge is finding lightweight fabrics with tiny prints. I would love to learn how to do tiny embroidered details on little doll dresses.
My biggest sewing challenge is hems not lying flat and pieces not exactly matching up to each other, especially in sewing sleeves.
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping small pieces of fabric from getting stuck inside of my sewing machine, especially knit fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew all the wonderful patterns I’m collecting.
My biggest sewing challenge is putting in zippers perfectly.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with knit fabrics.
“My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew!!! Life always seems to get in the way of the fun stuff. If I had my way, I would sew several hours every day.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time to do all the projects I want to do.
My biggest sewing challenge is : 🤭 sewing my WIP’s…organization of sewing room/and making my sewing area more relaxing, so more production !!! Ya think???
Finishing off doll clothes hems neatly. No matter how hard I try they just don’t look that great.
It is nice to know I am not the only one. I also have trouble getting started and am often overwhelmed. Especially if it is something I have never done before. I thought I was pretty well versed in my sewing knowledge but when reading your blog and trying the patterns from you ,I find I am in need of more knowledge. I have learned from your lessons and know I will be able to learn much more. Thank you so much!
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing elastic into stretchy fabric when making say… swimsuits.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing tiny pieces of stretchy fabric for the doll patterns and keeping them straight.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding enough room to store everything and still have room to cut out and sew projects. Hubby says I have too much stuff. Lol. I have a few other challenges. Sewing with knit fabric. My machine wants to eat the fabric. I have downloaded the sewing with knits course but have made the time to watch it. My other challenge is I get bored with a project and then tend to procrastinate. As you can see I am challenged.
