My biggest sewing challenge is tiny seams, especially on 9" doll clothes.
My biggest sewing challenge is top stitching. I have difficulty keeping it straight.
My biggest sewing challenge is top stitching. I have difficulty keeping it straight.
My biggest sewing challenge is just getting started — choose a pattern, choose fabric, cut it out, sew it up! That’s pretty simple once you get started. My sewing room and fabric is in the only upstairs room in the house, so it’s really easy to get sidetracked downstairs and never venture up!
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew. I love sewing but I constantly get interrupted. I have especially enjoyed your patterns. Thank you!
SEWING WITH KNITS!
My biggest sewing challenge is learning to use my narrow hemming foot.
My biggest challenge is finding time to do the projects that I would like to do.
my biggest sewing challenge is sitting down at my sewing machine. I will cut out outfits (many outfits) before I sit down to sew them!
My biggest sewing challenge is knowing and finding the specialty items that I need in order to sew different kinds of accessories for the outfits…such as eyelets, special trims, felted wools and most “tiny or miniature “ notions. I’m unable to get out in order to shop because of pain so I can’t examine or return notions and everything I buy comes from online where I spend countless hours searching for “just the right size” and small amounts. I rarely need to purchase 1 or 2 yards of fabric at a time! I have learned the metric system for buttons and snaps and so many things since I started sewing for dolls! I love it!!!
Sewing on hook and loop fastener…I hate it.
My biggest sewing challenge is very thin fabric.
My biggest challenge is trying to enter change doll patterns to make it my own.
My biggest sewing challenge is working without interruptions.
“My biggest sewing challenge is : Not knowing a lot about different types of fabric, and even though I follow the pattern suggestions, I am still at a loss for the most part for the FEEL of the fabric; I am one of those persons, who needs to feel the fabric which would match with the pattern? (hard to explain) and often am hesitant to purchase said fabric and just use what I have at hand. Can’t exactly go into a fabric store and start ‘touchy-feely’, although I have to the weird looks of other customers/employees. And I look right back-because most of them do not know either! Thank goodness, for Pixie Packs !! Great question.
My biggest sewing challenge is button holes. I have watched the videos etc but still seem to have issues as my button hole foot is challenging to determine it’s size due to its shape .
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time to do everything I want to get done and staying organized!
My biggest sewing challenge I’d keeping my work space organized.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing slippery fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing tiny doll sleeves. The small size plus the tiny hem is difficult.
When I sew for myself, fitting the garment to my measurements is my biggest challenge. When sewing for the 18" girl dolls my biggest challenge is turning out small tubes to the right side.
My biggest sewing challenge is deciding which idea to start on next. There are just so many great ideas. Should I start on the historical dress, it is so pretty, or should I start on the ghillies so my daughter’s doll has the same shoes? Hmmmm.
I have been sewing for years; am a retired Home Economics teacher so am familiar with many techniques but when it comes to sewing something using a new technique or new technology I seem to lose the motivation to try something a new way. Scared of failure maybe?
My biggest sewing challenge is space to work in that doesn’t have to be moved when we eat dinner. Being able to have the exact buttons, trims, and fabric for what I am trying to make can also be a challenge—I have a lot of stuff, just never what I want!
My biggest sewing challenge is cutting out pattern to get started.
My biggest sewing challenge is time.
finding time to sit &sew
My biggest challenge is deciding what to sew next. “Sew” many ideas rolling around in my head, and I’m always seeing something that would be so cute doll sized…….
My biggest sewing challenge is gathering things by hand.
My biggest problem is with silk or satin type fabrics!
My biggest sewing challenge is welt pockets. I never can get them squared.
My biggest sewing challenge is choosing the fabric that works the best with the pattern.
My biggest sewing challenge is working with knit fabrics – I find them hard to sew.
My biggest challenge is working with specialty fabrics. So slippery and very hard to handle for me.
My biggest sewing challenge is not the sewing itself. I frequently search for new techniques and how to videos. My challenge is making the decisions about the fabric type and colors for an outfit.
My biggest challenge is room. My sewing room is also a small bed room. My sewing machine sets on a table my dad made me years ago between a bed and a chest of drawers. I have things strung out on the bed. I use a TV tray with an ironing pad on it so I can iron as I sew. When I need to cut something using a rotary cutter I put my cutting board on top of the ironing pad. I have plastic storage drawers for notions, etc. Material is stored in different locations.
My biggest sewing challenge is making shoes for my doll outfits. I can never get them both to come out right! I love having shoes for an outfit, but they’re too expensive to buy.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding appropriately scaled fabrics for doll clothes.
“My biggest sewing challenge is having to many projects going at once and finishing them all.
My biggest sewing challenge is having an organized sewing room so that I can find the things that I need.
Sewing thin knits and silky fabrics
My biggest sewing challenge is picking out what I want to make after I finish the garment I’m working on. I just can’ get enough sewing time in.
My biggest challenge is any kind of ruffle – I want ruffles that are perfectly even, and it is difficult for me to achieve that..
Making button holes
My biggest sewing challenge is fitting myself.
My biggest sewing challenge is organizing my time so that I can fit my favorite activities – sewing, knitting – in with my work and chores.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time to sew.

My biggest sewing challenge is sewing super stretchy knit fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is actually finishing a sewing project that I start!
My biggest sewing challenge is not following directions.
My biggest challenge is matching fabric to a pattern creating that perfect outfit
My biggest challenge is accurately matching seams where 4 pieces meet with intersecting or crossing seams.
My biggest sewing challenge is not getting so frustrated I can’t sew anymore. I’m a beginner, and troubleshooting my machine and technique are a constant!
My biggest sewing challenge is using the acetate lining fabric for lining in a coat or jacket. It seems that the lining is always too small for the garment and I am not sure why.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing snaps neatly. The stitching is either too bulky or not enough so the snaps eventually fall off.
My biggest sewing challenge is it be satisfied with corners, after they have been turned right side out. I think they should look sharp, but if you mess too long with them, a bulge appears, and that’s worse.
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping my work area clean.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting my sewing room organized. Everything is still in boxes from my move.
My biggest sewing problem is finding the time to sew. It seems everything and everyone wants my time when I start a project.
My biggest challenge is finding enough time to sew :)
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing tiny things.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing a project I have started or just getting started.
My greatest sewing challenges are not finishing projects I start, finding enough time, and making patterns.

My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew.
My biggest challenge is choosing the right fabric for the project. Trying to identify fabric content in knits
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing stretchy fabric
My biggest sewing challenge is like Julie A Vasbinder – organizing & keeping my sewing room organized. Right now it is piled with fabric left from things I recently cut out & sewed, newly acquired fabrics, trims & notions. I have printed out the picture that goes with each pattern I have downloaded & most are glued onto 6-1/2 × 9-1/2" manila envelopes, waiting to be filed & also waiting for the pattern piece & instruction to be printed out.
My biggest challenge is I’m afraid to use my serger. The lady at the store where I bought it, set it up for me to do rolled hems, and I’m afraid to thread it to do different things.
My biggest sewing challenge is tiny buttonholes, and precise button hole placement.
My biggest sewing challenge is making learning how to use the serger I was given a priority.
My biggest sewing challenge is using my serger!
My biggest sewing challenge is to be able to use all the fabrics and trims that I’ve stockpiled.
Right now my biggest sewing challenge is completing all the projects I’ve started and using all the fabric I’ve purchased. As is often my tendency, I get excited about something new and my ideas go racing ahead of the time I have available to do them!!
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping my sewing room organized. I have a tremendous stash of fabric, notions, patterns, etc. I have been sewing for almost 50 years.
My biggest sewing challenge is making button holes
My biggest sewing challenge is Working with Silky fabrics and being too picky about getting things perfect!!
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping my thin fabrics from getting sunk in the feed dogs. I need to get better with using starter fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time.
My biggest sewing challenge is STAYING OUT OF THE FABRIC STORES!! I’m always going into a store “just to see what they have” or to pick up notions and end up buying more fabric. It’s not like I don’t have enough fabric because I’m a true “fabric-holic”, I just can’t control myself :-( My dolls have all the clothes they could ever want—both modern and historical—but I always seen to find more fabric to make them more clothes!
My biggest sewing challenges center around moving beyond intermediate level skills, including the ability to tackle specialty fabrics with ease. sew zippers. I’m so thankful for the new skills I continue to pick up from SWC courses!
My biggest sewing challenge is also aging because I am afraid I won’t live long enough to try all of my patterns or finish the hundreds of UFOs
My biggest sewing challenge is inserting zippers in doll clothes.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing very fine material.
My biggest sewing challenge is making and turning tubes of fabric! It’s always so difficult!
My biggest struggle with sewing is time and timing… I love making doll clothes but they take soooo long to make.
My biggest sewing challenge is the lack of more hours in a day. Even retired there are so many projects I wish to do.
My biggest sewing challenge is altering/tailoring my own clothes. It is easy to mark hems and tailor other people’s clothes but I just cannot seem to teach my husband how to mark my clothes yet.
My biggest challenge is getting everything finished that I want to finish—too many projects—too little time.
My biggest sewing challenge is That I don’t know how to sew a zipper!
My biggest sewing challenge is perfectionism. I am not satisfied unless my project is perfect. And being human, it’s not always possible. :)
My biggest challenge is sewing after I’ve cut it out, layout just took the ambition.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting my grumpy bones to let me sit at my sewing machine and sew for awhile. So I do short stents and take breaks often.
My biggest sewing challenge is dancewear/swimwear knits for dolls—tiny pieces under my serger are difficult for me to work with.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding solid chunks of time around the kids’ schedules 😆 Related, would be staying organized so that I can jump in whenever I DO have time.
