Hi everyone,
The question is simple, which look is best?
This week's contest is featuring a darling set of patchwork dresses made by Karen Lorraine as the prototype pieces featured on the cover of the Les Souvenirs 18" doll clothes pattern. Which style do you like best? Be sure to vote to help us decide which look is best and be entered into the giveaway to win both of these dresses! (Note - dolls and props are not included in the giveaway)
More About the Outfits: This giveaway includes one dress with two "Mix & Match" accessory sets, one pink and one blue! The base layer is a gentle unlined underdress made in a lightweight white cotton fabric. A ruffle at the dress base complements the look, while a clean neckline and back closure finish off the dress nicely. The darling finishing pieces feature elastic-waisted pantaloons, followed by a gorgeous bonnet with a lined brim, and a classic patchwork pieced pinafore style apron. Pair each set with the underdress to create either a pretty pink ensemble or sweet blue look!

Get to know Karen Lorraine Watts (in her own words): "Hi, I’m Lorraine from “Karen Lorraine Design.” I design for various doll sizes from American Girl to the little dolls. I’ve always loved dolls and never really had any as a little girl. My sister and I had soft toys instead, as dolls were too expensive back then. I still remember getting my first Daisy doll and what a massive moment that was J. (She was an ice-skating doll whose feet I nibbled despite me being 8 years old at the time!) When I started sewing about eight years ago, it was great to discover the current world of dolls and Pixie Faire. I loved taking Pixie Faire’s Design and Pattern Academy classes, and it is an honour to finally be a designer for a company I had admired for many years. Creating patterns is a long process with a lot of different stages. It is so rewarding to see an idea come to life and to see what customers do with my patterns. My favourite dolls are American Girl, Pullip, and Blythe. Away from designing, I am busy with family matters (including my 9-year old niece, and my parents in separate Rest Homes), and in my spare time I enjoy photography, art, road trips, and walking."

Inquiring Minds Want To Know...
Q: What's your favorite food?
Lorraine: I tend to go in “phases”. Then I have too much of my “current phase” and never have it again for months! I also really enjoy garlic. (No vampires here.)
Q: What's your favorite tv show or movie?
Lorraine: I loved the early seasons of “Once Upon A Time”. The costumes were great and the storylines were uplifting (and made you believe in miracles). I also thought Robert Carlyle (who played Rumple) was outstanding. “When Calls The Heart” is a programme I really like currently. I also like “The Amazing Race”.
Q: Coffee or Tea??
Lorraine: Coffee, especially first thing in the morning.
Q: Where's your favorite place to shop?
Lorraine: Online
Q: What inspired your brand name?
Lorraine: “Karen Lorraine” are my first two names. I am named “Lorraine” after my Dad’s sister (who died when she was 3). My parents liked the name “Karen” too and felt that Karen Lorraine flowed better than Lorraine Karen. Being called by my middle name has caused some difficulties over the years, for example with medical and school records, but now I like how it sounds.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
Lorraine: I would love to go on a cruise near Antarctica (and to Elephant Island and other Shackleton areas). I would love to see the Polar Regions from afar, as I love reading about ice and it fascinates me. I’d love to see the penguins too. I would also like to go to China and Russia, and…. I’d really like to go to an American Girl shop (with lots of money to spend there). Happy dreams :)
We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us - which look is best! And be sure to thank Lorraine for giving away such a cute outfit!
Thanks everyone,
The Pixie Faire Team
Absolutely the pink! So feminine and beautiful. And it looks more historically correct since the colors of that time period was much more muted than today’s colors.
I like the pink outfit. Thank you for the opportunity to win these.
The blue bonnet. More color. Thanks so much for sharing your story!
The blue reminds me of the Holly Hobby that my mother made me back in the 70’s. Thank you for offering this, Lorraine.
I choose the blue, because it reminds of Holly Hobbie dolls from quite some time ago.
This is a delightful reminder of days gone by and “Holly Hobbie”!
This is a delightful reminder of days gone by and “Holly Hobbie”!
I really prefer the Blue One. It put some colour to the skin. The blue is so rich.
Blue, absolutely.
My favorite color is blue so that would be my choice. I used to do a lot of cake decorating and Holly Hobby was the very first cake pan I ever bought 45 years ago and I still have it. Would love to win this.
I love the pink best because truth be told that is my favorite color.
Both would be delightful to my collection.
I like the pink!
I like both actually but the dolls that would wear this favor pink. It was nice to get to know you. One day I might design for dolls like you do instead of sew from others, I design human clothing in part. When I was in 9th grade I sewed a dress like this with bonnet for myself.
Both are beautiful, but I always lean toward PINK!!
Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE Holly Hobbie!! My room was decorated in Holly Hobbie when I was a kid. Of course I love the authentic-looking blue one! Please pick me!!!!!!!!

Like the blue as more colorful than the pink and white to me is kind of bland. So voted for the blue.
Both outfits are beautiful. But blue will get my vote. Thank you Lorraine.
The pink bonnet is my favorite, but their both cute.
The blue reminds me of Holly Hobbie! Love it ! My daughter had the doll and one time I made the Wilton cake of Holly Hobbie . Sweet reminder !

Thank you Lorraine for such beautiful options to pick from. I personally prefer the blue outfit because for whatever reason it looks more true to the era in which the dress represents.
Thank you, Lorraine, it’s a beautiful pattern. I prefer pink.
These outfits are so cute. Thank you Lorraine!
Both these colour options are darling! I love the colour texture of the blue dress, but I’m not a huge fan of the blue fabric on the bonnet and pantaloons, so over all I like the pink set the most. It is so soft and sweet. Beautiful work!
The blue bonnet outfit is best reminds me of my favorite childhood doll Holly Hobbie.
I wore one very similiar to the blue bonnet when I was a kid. We went to visit an old, one room school house and all the kids dressed up. Such fun memories!
I love both but the blue bonnet outfit reminds me of Holly Hobbie! The blue bonnet outfit is my favorite!
I like the blue one because there is more bold color definition.
Thank you!!!
I love the pink reminds me of little house on the prairie
Love the pink outfit. It has it’s own charm and appeal.

Love the Blue Bonnet Holly Hobby look.
The blue looks great,
Although I decorated my daughter’s room with this look (the blue one) when she was young, I voted for the pink outfit, as pink is my favorite color.

Love Both. But my Girls Love Blues
Hi… I chose the pink dress, thou blue is my favorite color. Both so adorable.
Thank you, Lorraine, for an amazing outfit. :~)
I really love them both. The blue outfit just shouts “Holly Hobbie” to me… and I loved those paper dolls when they first came out. But the pink one… well, I had a pink sunbonnet when I was a kid, one my mother had worn working on her family’s farm and it was pink. So this just takes me back and I love it best. Thank you, Karen.
je préfère la tenue en bleue les couleurs la font mieux ressortir!!

I like the pink outfit best.
I like the pink color.
I choose the Blue Bonnet outfit because I have been a Holly Hobbie fan since the 1970’s. It just reminded me of the blue dress and bonnet worn by the H.H.doll. So cute, thank you Karen.
I like the Blue one best… both are super cute.☺
Thank you for sharing with us! I adore both, but the blue really does spark more to the childhood, with my Holly Hobby dolls I had growing up.

Have to say blue…always been my favourite colour
The blue reminds me of Hollie Hobby that was so popular when my daughter was a child.
They are both beautiful, but I’m going for the blue!
Love the blue.
Pink, it is so soft and sweet!
The blue definitely has more ‘pop’, but the pink is more for the girly girl. Being a tomboy, I’m going to have to go with the blue.
The blue grabs my attention but I like the pink too.
The blue outfit reminds me of childhood—thank you!
I wonder where I put my Hollie Hobby Doll? I love both outfits, but I especially like the delicacy of the pink one. I can imagine it looking good on any doll-colouring. (sorry, Canadian spelling).
Both a beautiful, but I like the shades of blue. Such a cute outfit. Thank you
Thank you, Lorraine! Loving that blue patchwork! But they are both adorable!

Prefer the Blue Outfit….bright colors reminds of a traditional prairie look!
I like the blue better the bright colors stand out
I love pink but I voted for the blue one as the deepness of the color is more fitting for this pattern. Thank you for these outfits.
Thanks Lorraine. Both outfits are lovely, and though the pink doesn’t show up very well on my computer, I still think I liked it best.
Love the Blue outfit
The blue is so much more dramatic. I love it best.
The blue is my favorite, seems to better display the ideal of the pattern and the time period the best. I do enjoy the design and appreiate your sharing of it. Thank you.
I think the pink one is best, but the blue is pretty too. Remind me of the bonnet my mom used to try to make me wear when we chopped cotton. Glad I don’t have to do that anymore.
I grew up with Holly Hobbie, so I love the classic blue.
I like the blue outfit. Blue is my favorite color.
I super love these designs! I’m a lover of all things Pioneer and really enjoy the different colors on the blue bonnet combo. It makes me think of Holly Hobby dolls. 😊 Great work!!
