This week we are announcing several exciting changes for 2019 that we think you'll really enjoy!
First, we are changing the Mod Doll Monday contest a bit. Now it's Mix & Match Monday. After giving away a doll each week for the last several years, we are ending that weekly prize and instead featuring the beautiful doll clothes styled in fun and unique ways and a close up look at the designer behind the brand! This week we are featuring the beautiful work of Shari Fuller, be sure to click through to the giveaway to read her story and get to know her more!
Second, we are going to begin a new weekly fashion contest with a fun prize for the lucky winner. The first one will start next week, so be sure to watch for it on the website and Facebook. We'll also include details in a follow-up newsletter. This contest will also have a weekly voting element - so you get to help decide which outfit will win.
Finally, we are mixing things up for our Friday pattern give-away. Moving forward we are going to do a Friday BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free) Deal each week. Similar to the 12 Days promos, the new Friday BOGO offer will be set up for a specified collection each week, for one day only - this Friday the collection will feature a beautiful assortment of fun patterns that we know you'll enjoy! Watch for the announcement in the Friday newsletter and check the site on Friday, the BOGO collection will be highlighted on the main homepage slider.

About “Freebie Fridays”… I also loved, and looked forward to the weekly pattern giveaway. But, I also saw the need to support the website and the designers, so I PAID for a pattern at least once a month. Come on people! You certainly can afford 1 pattern a month ($4.99 – that is 16 cents a day!!) You can’t expect this website to keep giving and giving (55 Free patterns a year!?!?) and eventually see that it was just too much. And I am SURE if you contacted Cinnamon and told her about your charity she would certainly give you a discount, if not donate the pattern to your cause. These people are sooooo generous!!

I’m very sad to see Freebie Fridays discontinued. I had my phone alert me every Friday so I wouldn’t forget. I’ve purchased a few patterns, but as a disabled person on a very limited income, I will rarely be able to participate in the BOGO. Thank you for all of the free patterns offered during my time here. They are very much appreciated.

Thank you and your team so much for the Friday freebies that were offered. It was so exciting to see what was offered each week. i got a lot of cute patterns and some great ideas. The best part of sewing is the planning and dreaming! Thanks for the BOGO offers and will still watch weekly for patterns and ideas. Since so many are disappointed that Friday freebie has discontinued, maybe a free applique design could be offered weekly for accessorizing? I like simple shapes in different sizes..butterflies, flowers, hearts, holiday designs, etc. Just an idea.

Thank you so very much for all of the free patterns that were part of your Freebie Friday events. With the first few simple patterns I received free, I was able to alter and add notions to make many items that looked different. I have become better at sewing and my pattern collection contains both free and purchased patterns. I certainly don’t understand why some people are upset that the program has changed and that they will be finding a new site to visit. Your have been more than generous and people commenting unfavorably need to grow up.

I, too, am sorry to see the Freebie Friday’s go away. But thank you, so much, for doing that as long as you did. Our family is on a tight budget, and I received more patterns than I could have gotten for my girls otherwise. They’ll be learning to sew with those patterns, mostly using recovered fabrics from outgrown clothes that aren’t suitable for donation but have plenty of good parts left. Win/win!

I, too, would like to thank you for the many free patterns I’ve collected over the years. I look forward to this new format! I would LOVE it if you offered one designer at a time and mix in coordinating themes sometimes (rotate weeks?) So many times with Freebie Friday it was, “Oh, what a surprise — the (basic-ish) dress for the 18” doll won! What a surprise!" This way you can actually get the one you want and a good deal into the bargain! Thanks so much Cinnamon!

I must admit I’m a little disappointed that there will be no more free dolls. I’m impressed you were able to give away as many as you did, though! I’m excited to see what new outfits will be offered.

I would like to thank you very much for the Freebie Fridays. I’ve been very grateful for all the ladies giving us free patterns each Friday. I live on a limited income too but I’m not complaining. I think Bogo Friday is Great, you steel get one free when you buy one. It’s not like they are expensive. They cost so much less and have so much more to choose from. It’s better then buying from a store you pay a lot and not a lot to choose from. Ladies they have been so Generous to us for such a long time. We can’t be greedy. And BOBO FRIDAY they still are being very Generous to us. I just wont to say THANK YOU Cinnamon and you Team for everything.

It gave me a chance to look at other pattern styles that I normal wont have bought, because of the cost or because of level of the sewing but it push me to try and my sewing skill have improved because of it. Yes, taking away Freebie Friday is just another example of how Liberty Jane/Cinnamon has changed her business over the years. I was there at the start, before the store, before she started charging to be in a “special” group with her (Sewing with Cinnamon?) Charges for everything. I know these designers work hard to create patterns so $9 for a pattern is reasonable I guess, but it is electronic and we have to add on paper and ink. Anyway, from humble beginnings to money making business woman. That’s capitalism for you. Sorry to see freebie friday go. Won’t be visiting as often.

Expressing disappointment is an indication of our level of appreciation for
Freebie Friday. Those of us who prefer to sew for other than 18” dolls, will have greater access to those patterns. I was sorry to see that Ellowyne wasn’t represented in the collection. The Ivy cloak seems like it fits the criteria. I, for one, will still be here every week.

I appreciate so much you doing the bogo, for me, this is a better choice. I am not in this for what I can get free, i don’t believe people should be out for what they can get free. The way you are doing this is great, you are rewarding those who are willing to purchase from you anyways. So we are rewarded for that effort. Yes free stuff is fun, however, this way I can actually pick out something I actually want. Not settle. I wish however I could find the bogo, no luck yet trying to figure it out. You guys have been amazing for a very long time, and i appreciate what we have gotten, but I have certain styles and looks I want, and so if the choices fall in these categories for me. I always looked forward to freebie Friday’s just because it excited me to see what cute pattern was next to make. I don’t think it’s looking a gift horse in the mouth to be disappointed that it’s no longer going to happen, but I understand the business side of it. But, just like people make a living off doll pattern making, many also need to watch where they spend, and doll patterns are not at the top of their list. I just hope the BOGO is enticing enough to bring me to Pixie Faire every Friday like Freebie Friday.

With the blog posts on pattern hacking, the free patterns can tweaked and made new again! Luckily, little kids are usually ok with repetition anyhow, especially with different fabrics, unless you’ve a budding fashionista on your hands with a keen eye for details. I’m sure those who volunteer won’t mind the repetition – it should make it that much easier to pump out clothes!! What a great service.
