Hi everyone,
The question is simple, which look is best?
This week's contest is featuring a darling set of patchwork dresses made by Karen Lorraine as the prototype pieces featured on the cover of the Les Souvenirs 18" doll clothes pattern. Which style do you like best? Be sure to vote to help us decide which look is best and be entered into the giveaway to win both of these dresses! (Note - dolls and props are not included in the giveaway)
More About the Outfits: This giveaway includes one dress with two "Mix & Match" accessory sets, one pink and one blue! The base layer is a gentle unlined underdress made in a lightweight white cotton fabric. A ruffle at the dress base complements the look, while a clean neckline and back closure finish off the dress nicely. The darling finishing pieces feature elastic-waisted pantaloons, followed by a gorgeous bonnet with a lined brim, and a classic patchwork pieced pinafore style apron. Pair each set with the underdress to create either a pretty pink ensemble or sweet blue look!

Get to know Karen Lorraine Watts (in her own words): "Hi, I’m Lorraine from “Karen Lorraine Design.” I design for various doll sizes from American Girl to the little dolls. I’ve always loved dolls and never really had any as a little girl. My sister and I had soft toys instead, as dolls were too expensive back then. I still remember getting my first Daisy doll and what a massive moment that was J. (She was an ice-skating doll whose feet I nibbled despite me being 8 years old at the time!) When I started sewing about eight years ago, it was great to discover the current world of dolls and Pixie Faire. I loved taking Pixie Faire’s Design and Pattern Academy classes, and it is an honour to finally be a designer for a company I had admired for many years. Creating patterns is a long process with a lot of different stages. It is so rewarding to see an idea come to life and to see what customers do with my patterns. My favourite dolls are American Girl, Pullip, and Blythe. Away from designing, I am busy with family matters (including my 9-year old niece, and my parents in separate Rest Homes), and in my spare time I enjoy photography, art, road trips, and walking."

Inquiring Minds Want To Know...
Q: What's your favorite food?
Lorraine: I tend to go in “phases”. Then I have too much of my “current phase” and never have it again for months! I also really enjoy garlic. (No vampires here.)
Q: What's your favorite tv show or movie?
Lorraine: I loved the early seasons of “Once Upon A Time”. The costumes were great and the storylines were uplifting (and made you believe in miracles). I also thought Robert Carlyle (who played Rumple) was outstanding. “When Calls The Heart” is a programme I really like currently. I also like “The Amazing Race”.
Q: Coffee or Tea??
Lorraine: Coffee, especially first thing in the morning.
Q: Where's your favorite place to shop?
Lorraine: Online
Q: What inspired your brand name?
Lorraine: “Karen Lorraine” are my first two names. I am named “Lorraine” after my Dad’s sister (who died when she was 3). My parents liked the name “Karen” too and felt that Karen Lorraine flowed better than Lorraine Karen. Being called by my middle name has caused some difficulties over the years, for example with medical and school records, but now I like how it sounds.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
Lorraine: I would love to go on a cruise near Antarctica (and to Elephant Island and other Shackleton areas). I would love to see the Polar Regions from afar, as I love reading about ice and it fascinates me. I’d love to see the penguins too. I would also like to go to China and Russia, and…. I’d really like to go to an American Girl shop (with lots of money to spend there). Happy dreams :)
We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us - which look is best! And be sure to thank Lorraine for giving away such a cute outfit!
Thanks everyone,
The Pixie Faire Team
The blue bonnet is the best and thank you Lorraine.
I can’t really choose, both are lovely. If I have to, I guess that I would go with the pink.
Both are beautiful. I prefer the pink ouyfit. Thank you for donating the beautiful clothing!

The Blue is my favorite. So pretty.
The pink one is my favorite! Thank you for sharing your pattern!
Blue Blue! I’ll go for the blue.
I like the blue version best. Thanks for creating this cute design Lorraine! It reminds me of Holly Hobbie who I loved as a little girl.
Both are lovely, but I prefer the pink one.
Thank you Lorraine for creating such beautiful patchwork dresses! The outfit I think looks best is the “Pink Bonnet” one. Once again, thanks for designing such nice patchwork dresses.
I like the pink outfit best -cute and feminine. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
I love the blue one. Blue is my favorite color.
I LIKE THE PINK ONE BEST. IT LOOKS SO GOOD ON THE DOLL. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. I LOVE THIS SITE
Love the Pink
Really like both of them but the blue takes it
Blue!
Both are beautiful, however, the blue one has more contrast to it. I pick the blue one.
Like bith but tired of pink.like blue best.
Love the look of the 1970’s Holly Hobbie, the rag dress-wearing little girl wearing the giant bonnet. Brings back memories! I’m glad she has not been forgotten. If I recall, the blue outfit is the most original (??), but I love the pink bonnet version best!
Thank you for recreating an almost for gotten doll!
I, too, love the blue!
What a difficult choice !! But I go with the blue.
What a difficult choice !! But I go with the blue.
Thanks for the cute design! I like the pink the best but the blue does temind me of Holly Hobby.
They are both so adorable! I, especially, love the pink. Thank you, Lorraine! 💗
The pink is very pretty but my favorite is the blue outfit.
Both outfits are pretty but my favorite is in blue.
Pink is my favorite color, so I like the pink one best
I like the pink one.
I like the pink one. The colors go together very well.
I am going to have to go with the blue outfit she has on. I could not make out the
pink outfit, it was too bright, I could not see it properly. But that was OK, I do not
like PINK in anything. But the blue was just fine!!!
My favorite is the blue. It’s a lovely pattern!
Love the pink and the Little House on the Priarie.
Thank you Lorraine!
I like the brightness of the blue outfit.
I like the brightness of the blue material, but I voted for the pink outfit. The softness of the color is just more appealing to me.
Blue is my favorite color but I have to vote for the pink one. The pink color makes the outfit and bonnet look delicate.
So excited to see this! My niece is having twin girls and something like this would be great to make. I chose pink, but both are adorable. My girls love the “Little House on the Prairie” look growing up with there dolls. My grandkids will be getting this item made soon. TY
I like the blue because I love all different shades of blue so I could mix and match those colors in this design
Love the pink outfit!
The Blue Bonnet is my favorite! I love the contrasting colors that stand out! So fun and vibrant!
I really love the pink outfit as it reminds me of the Holly Hobbie doll I had as a child.
I like the pink bonnet best. Thank You Karen Lorraine.
Marilyn
these outfits are both just adorable!!!!!!!!!! it was soo hard to choose one
I have 3 girls soooo I would have to say I really enjoy the pink bonnet …thanks for the chance to win 😘
I like both colors but I love the blue it is so bold and bright.
Both are cute but I like the blue best.
I like them both but the blue is best.
Love the Pink Bonnet!! 💕
I like the blue better.
Blue Bonnet is my pick of the two.
My favorite is the “Pink Bonnet” because I have 4 granddaughters that would love this pattern !
The more vibrant color blue highlights the quilting design. It reminds me of “Holly Hobbie”.
Blue is my favorite color, so I picked blue bonnet
Definitely the blue – I made myself a summer dressing gown 50+ years ago out of Hollie Hobbie material – and yes I still have it and wear it occasionally. Have a cloth doll to make up the same.
Even though I am pink girl through and through l like the blue outfit as well…thanks
Love the pink one
I voted for blue because it is more striking and being a natural redhead ( a long time ago ) I’ve never been very fond of pink, although it is rather cute. I can see from the beautiful scenery on your page that you hail from down south in NZ … I am from the Waikato (up north) but have a son living in the Otautau/Tuatapere region of Southland, so I do visit from time to time. I love it down there too.
The Blue Bonnet reminds me SO much of Holly Hobbie!
Both are beautiful, PINK is the best one!
These are more than adorbs! They are inspirational! Not only gorgeous but such a sweet way to use “scraps.” thanks so much to sparking my own creativity with yours, Karen!
Thank you for this delightful pattern Lorraine/ I really like the blue one
Both are pretty, I like the softer look of the pink though.
Both are darling but like the blue one best! Have made my nieces outfits like this in the 70’s! All so cute!
The pink one.
Definitely the Blue – so reminiscent of the Holly Hobby doll my daughter loved in the late 70s and early 80s. I think her daughters would love this.
Pink is my favorite color, but I think the blue in this outfit is beautiful!
Blue
Love the pink!!!
I love the Blue Bonnet Thank you Lorraine
Oh, it’s the blue bonnet…blue bonnet…blue bonnet!
Reminds me of Holly Hobbie. I made 2 full size of this outfit for my 2 nieces back in the 1970’s. Wonder if they kept them, they were a lot of work! But so cute.
I love the blue set best. One of my favorite artists is Holly Hobbie, and the blue set is the perfectly classic look of Holly Hobbie’s girls of the 1970s.
Thank you Lorraine for these generous offerings!! I’ll have to buy a copy of your pattern!!
I like the blue one better.
I love both but because it is winter the pink brightens the day.
Thank you for sharing your talents and brightens my day
I like the blue collection best because it looks like my spare bedroom done in the Original Holly Hobbie done for all my granddaughters……I have 9!! What an addition this outfit would make in decorating!! <3
Since blue is my favorite color, obviously I think the blue outfit is the best!
Blue!!!!!
I love them both, but I think the blue is more age appropriate.
They are both great. Love the color of blue in the bonnet, but not the super dark patches in the dress, so have to go with the pink for the overall outfit. Lorraine, you are so talented! Thank you for offering this.
I have so much pink and red that I’m going with the blue! It really stands out .
I like the blue a little bit better! Thanks!
beggars can’t be choosy I love them both! Pretty, pretty, pretty pink.
The blue one pops with color. The pink one looks washed out, but it may just be the photography or computer that washed it out.
Love the blue — more traditional
Blue is adorable
I like the pink more but think that the blue actually looks the best. The are both adorable. Beautiful work & creativity.
Tots awesome makes great pioneer outfit for playing dolls
I adore pink. Pink feels pretty. It just stands out and says I’m here.
I like the blue better as it has some different colors, the pink alone looks bland to me. I like them both but would choose Blue for the differentiation in color
Both are lovely but I’ll say Blue..:)
They are both cute but I think I like the pink on best.
I love the blue outfit.
I am definitely a Fan of old fashioned outfits. The contrast in the blues is far more stunning, and besides that it is my favourite colour. I always enjoy these kind of projects. Thank you for designing it for us.
Both of them are pretty, however blue is my choice.
