My favorite era of clothing and fashion is the 1960/1970’s/ My girls love to see the grrandkids clothes I make for those periods. They get excited and let their children know “I wore something like that when I was little.” Its fun to relive old times with them and I often hear about things I never was informed of at the time.(lol) I’d like to see more of the clothing worn in the 1980/1990’s….puffy hair, big bows, big sleeves. That might bring out even more stories.
My favorite era is the ’70s probably because I was a young adult during this time. I would like to see more dress patterns from this time.
I really don’t have a favorite time period – I love them all :) With limited time to sew, the patterns that interest me the most right now are the quick and cute ones – any additions to that would be great!

I don’t have a favorite era, but I love learning about how history shaped what women and girls wore.
For example:
Depression era: girls’ dresses got shorter, and sleeves, too. Women used fabric from feed bags, but would dress it up with a scrap of ribbon, buttons, or contrasting fabric.
Civil War era: Women would change the fabric around their wrists and necks, as that part of the dress would get the most soiled.
WW2 era: Little girls wore (military inspired) sailor dresses, and jewelry was inspired by President FDR’s Scottie dog and V for Victory!
Early 1900s: Suffragettes wore white for purity, but they wore conservative styles because they didn’t want to freak you the men buy dressing “radically.” Plus, white was the cheapest dress one could buy. Poor women could afford a white dress, and they could add purple and gold accents ( a flower, a ribbon, etc) which were the other Suffragette colors.
