My favorite sewing tip or trick is storing projects separately in clear containers, so I can change projects easily to avoid burnout on individual projects. I like variety.
I sew and craft for my Etsy shop Brown Daisy Designs! I spend about 6-20 hours a week, depending on how busy I am.
I sew as a hobby. I started sewing my own doll clothes as a girl who loved playing with all types of dolls. Then when my own daughters were old enough to have American Girl dolls I started making their clothes to save on costs. I work full time as a nurse so I don’t have much time now plus my girls are grown but I still enjoy looking up patterns and dreaming up costumes for the dolls who are still waiting for new wardrobes.
I sew and knit as a hobby. I made my first 18” doll clothes for my granddaughter when COVID started to have something to do and discovered I loved sewing this size doll clothes. She loves everything I make. As a Christmas project I bought an Our Generation doll and made her five new outfits and donated to Salvation Army for a girl in need. Had my granddaughter pick out the doll so she learned about helping others less fortunate then her. I will continue this next year.
I sew primarily as a hobbies, but would like to turn it into a business.
I sew primarily as a happy hobby for my triplet grandchildren’s American Girl Dolls. They were squealing with excitement Christmas Eve when they opened their presents and found all the new doll clothes. Happy Grandma!

i’ve just gotten back to sewing in my retirement. I sew for a hobby and try to spend about an hour a day sewing doll clothes and I’m starting to sew quilts.
I sew as a hobby and sometimes for gifts. About once a year I take part in a crafts sale. I sew anywhere from 2 hours a week to 30 hours a week depending. Dolls and doll clothes are a big big part of my sewing.
I have been sewing for over 50 years. I started sewing doll clothes and then learned how to sew clothing. I have made coats & wedding dresses and have sewed many items for my kids & now grandchildren. I have taught lots of sewing classes as well. Now I enjoy making bags, quilts, and doll clothes. I spend most of my free time creating new & exciting things in my sewing room.
I’ve been a dollmaker for over 30 years, passionate about fabric and polymer clay. Not unusual for me to work ‘round the clock. Used to do doll shows and give classes and lectures before COVID. More time has gone to computer where I design and print on fabric for faces and clothing fabric.

“I now sew for relaxation and fun. I sew because I love to sew. I have retired. I use to have an in home sewing studio, doing alterations, costumes, fancy dresses, etc. Now I only take on jobs for friends and family that sound challenging or fun. Instead of 30 to 40 hours a week at the sewing machines, on average, I spend around 20 hours a week at the machines.
I enjoy sewing, knitting, and crochet as a hobby, though I have made doll clothes to sell in the past. These days, however, I make things for my own dolls or for gifts and am starting to make things for my granddaughter’s dolls. Usually I spend about15 hours a week on my beloved hobby:)
My passion seems to be collecting patterns and fabric to make doll clothes and imagining the colors and trims, etc., but never actually getting doll clothes made. I am a very slow sewist and it seems that something always goes wrong. The"fifteen minute" mask patterns that I tried sewing in the spring and summer generally took me a minimum of three hours. I still enjoy viewing the Sewing with Cinnamon classes and signed up for the pattern academy over a year ago. Someday, I hope to accomplish more.

I sew primarily as a hobby/stress reducer!! On average, I spend 5-6 hours a week sewing or looking at patterns and dreaming!!
My hobbies are many and include hand embroidery of various types; sewing; smocking; heirloom sewing; collecting and studying lace; making doll clothes, shoes, accessories and “food”; calligraphy; scrapbooking and paper crafts; gardening and genealogy.
I rotate between hobbies as I tackle projects. My sewing/craft room is overflowing with supplies, as you can imagine. So I’ve spent a good deal of my COVID sequestration time sorting, organizing and trying to make it fit.

I often start out making something for myself, but by the time I finish, I’ve usually thought of someone who would love what I’m making and I give it to them :)
I sew primarily as a hobby but I do sell some of my doll clothes. This year I have spent more time sewing because I have made a lot of masks. On average, I spend probably 20 hours a week sewing.

I sew for creativity and for practicality. All of my doll clothes sewing now is for charity. I mostly sew doll clothes for girls on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota via a FB group called Sew For Kids. Second to doll clothes, I sew baby and children’s items and occasionally little Christmas and birthday gifts. I have never sold my doll clothes or anything else. I sew as a hobby but as a hobby that sort of pays for itself as I sew one dress for my dolls and a matching dress to sell on eBay. I used to be able to spend more time at it though, I started getting pains in my legs from sitting too much so now I’m down to a couple hours a week give or take.

I sew and crochet for my four youngest granddaughters and all their 18" and 14" dolls. I also quilt a lot. My sewing machine is never put away and I try to sew something most every day, whether its 15 minutes or several hours.
