Cinnamon & Pixie Faire Team
I sew 18" and 14 1/2" doll clothes for my great- granddaughters and for my business. I sell mostly at craft shows which have been a bust this year due to covid. My goal for 2021 is to set up a esty shop. I sew probably a couple of hours per day. I love working with patterns from Pixie Faire. I also enjoy making primitive furinture pieces for my home and my goal for a winter project is making a plank dining room table.
I sew equally for my online Etsy shop (Pillows) and my grandchildren (doll clothes and clothing for them). I spend 10-20 hrs a week at my sewing machine.
I sew…primarily as a hobby, but I also have an Etsy shop, AdorablyDolly.etsy.com in order to have a reason to continue to enjoy my hobby. I have plenty of grandchildren who like dolls, but there are just so many outfits a child can manage. It is hard to give an average time that I spend at this hobby. Some weeks I manage to sew a couple of hours a day, but other weeks I rarely make it into the sewing room. My husband’s hobby is wood working and tiling. He’s an engineer and it often happens that if I need something, he can usually make it for me. So he now makes a couple of items for my Etsy shop as well.
I sew primarily as a hobby, on average, I spend 10 hours a week.
I sew and crochet, usually doll clothes. I found a creative outlet to help cope with retirement and Covid idle time. My granddaughters are happy to receive my creations.
Sewing is a hobby for me but I always dreamed that it would bring me closer to my children & grandchildren as I created garments and special things for them and their toys. – - time constraints – - I’m mostly still dreaming . . . .
I sew primarily as a hobby and for my granddaughters. On average, I spend not as much time as I would like. I’m going to try to make at least 1 item a week this coming year.
My passion is creating (currently knitting projects). I like to knit, sew etc. I make gifts but hope in 2021 to start selling my creations. In the past I have sold mostly knitting items but hope to sell sewn doll outfits and custom bras.
I sew as a way to keep my retirement interesting and busy. I usually spend 3-4 hours a day or 15-20 hour week. Aren’t I happy I found sewing for dolls an obsession!!
I sew and craft primarily for my home business on an average I spend 20 – 30 hours a week on activities. This is my therapy as well a way to keep my senior brain active. I retired ten years ago and I stay as active as I can. Whether it is cutting fabric, sewing, painting or research on my compuer, my brain stays functional.
I sew American Girl doll clothes, mostly for my granddaughters, and I sewed many many masks for a fundraiser for my church (to help support a refugee family our church is sponsoring). We raised almost $2000.00 and we charged $10.00 per mask so I was very busy for a while doing that. I also like to sew project bags to give as gifts. I knit as a hobby as well, mostly littlecottonrabbits patterns, also for my grandkids! I also love to embroider, making up lavender sachets with patterns from Lilipopo, to give as gifts.
I sew doll things for my granddaughter. I sew clothes, quilts, pillows, tablecloths, mattresses, and recovered chairs and sofas for her dolls. I’ve made items for her bitty babies and her 18 inch American girl dolls. I sew 1-2 hours a day. I’ve taken a few classes at my local quilt shop to sew clothes. I like Pixie Faire patterns because they’re step by step instructions are very clear. I’m looking forward to learning a lot from their videos and blog on different topics throughout the year. They have a great variety so there’s something to interest everyone.
I sew and now crochet as a LOVE and as a business…I have my own sewing school so I teach others..the crochet part is now a new love that all my 18” fashion models love all the added crochet fashions and things. I don’t really sell anything…all my samples and things I do for some classes I teach ..I ususally donate to a local organiztion who has things for the foster kids/families around Christmas time…

Reading some of the other entries, I wonder how people find so much time.
I don’t have a shop, but I’d like to one day. I just don’t feel I have enough time to devote to it. (I had more this year since I was laid off for a few months, but I think depression got the best of me). Maybe one day.

Over the years, from the time I was 6 years, I’ve done just about every and any hand craft -knit, crochet, sewing, painting, ceramics, etc. I never really had the time over the years to develop any one craft to its fullest.
