As a Costume Designer, I get repeatedly frustrated with products and patterns that have trimmings and components that are decidedly out of proportion, but I don’t always want to draft my own patterns just for my nieces dolls. I LOVE the attention to detail that I see in the patterns sold here. :)

My favorite era of clothing and fashion is Modern because I sew for my 7 granddaughters and they love the more Modern outfits, I’d love to see a pattern for more accessory items. If I make a little dress, I don’t have any patterns for any accessories for them. I wish the freebie patterns included a little purse or pair of shoes. :-) One of my granddaughters just loves Pajamas and night clothes for her doll, and another granddaughter just loves party dresses. I would LOVE to win this for my littlest granddaughter who just had a birthday and is now 4 and she doesn’t have an American Girl Doll yet. Would be a marvelous gift for her. Thank you

My favorite era of clothing is the 40’s and 50’s. I was born in 1954, but live in the Midwest and was a second girl….so the “fashion” I wore was late in coming to this area, plus it was hand-me-downs….so these eras are the style I remember wearing. Also my mother was very talented and made some of our clothes – and without patterns! I have a couple photos of my mom, my sister, and me in matching outfits that she made. Great memories!! :)
