Fashion from the late 1800’s to the 1920’s. Everything was changing so fast in those years. Women were demanding rights, and getting them. Fashion began to reflect women as more independent, but in a much more innocent way. I would like to see more patterns from this period, especially party dresses.

My favorite era of clothing and fashion is… modern. I’d love to see a pattern for easy layering clothes to change up the fashions and for easy dressing as my girls have cerebral palsy so dressing is difficult for them.
My favorite era of clothing and fashion for dolls is today’s styles. While I had a poodle skirt, my granddaughters would not relate to anything from the 50’s.
My favorite era is a mixture of the 50’s and modern today style where I can make matching outfits for my grand daughter and her doll.
I bought my dolls from my niece, who outgrew them, and as far as I know they are all modern period dolls. While I enjoy good fashion from any time, I would love to see more international styles. I love glamorous outfits.

My favorite era of clothing. Is between the 40’s and 50’s. As a child I loved the style and comfort of the casual ware without looking ragged. The cool cottons were a pain for my mother to iron but the fresh crisp look was worth it.
My favorite era of fashion is the lmid fifties to early sixties.. love the sweet slim skirts and the wonderful look of Jackie Kennedy’s style of that era.
My favorite era of clothing is the 1960’s. Styles went from the very full skirts with as many petticoats as you could get under them in the early years to Chanel inspired suits and dresses worn by First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the middle years. That was followed by mini skirts and. the free-flowing styles of Flower Power and the Hippie movement. And you guessed it…. I lived through it all!

My favorite era of clothing is the 16th and 17th century. I would love to see a pattern for a detailed tudor gown.
My favorite era of clothing and fashion is the 50s through 70s, which corresponds to the times in which I grew up. There is such a diverse range of styles, with enough understructure and detail to make sewing authentic doll outfits really fun. From shirtwaists and crinolines to color block A-lines and embroidered tunics to fitted sheaths in bold prints – it’s all in that timespan. The patterns I would most like to have are either a classic green Girl Scout uniform dress with badge sash and beret, or a shirtwaist bubble romper gym uniform – which might trigger a bad flashback to middle school PE for some of us.
My favorite era of clothing is the 60’s.
My favorite era is the historical, I love the long dress and the details.
My favorite era of clothing is Victorian. I would love to see a pattern for a full length wool coat and coordinating muff. :)
My favorite era of clothing and fashion is actually anything between the Great Depression and the 1950’s that is historically accurate. However, I am also strongly drawn to clothing that is representative of characters from children’s books and movies. I just love giving an outfit to a child when they look at it and immediately relate to it from some character that they recognize and love from literature. Those garments just spark their creativity and role playing in a real and fascinating way. This brings me great joy and further pleases me to know that the child is then encouraged to read more and expand their world. Modern clothes are fun too, but I just don’t see as much role playing or inquisitive desire to learn from those current fashion gifts. The kids then focus on fashion and on/off doll dressing rather than actual intellectual growth or interaction. Don’t get me wrong, there is certainly a benefit to developing a fashion sense for themselves and learning to coordinate fashion and color combinations. I just think doll dressing can be so much more inspirational. I do also strongly believe that doll play can be a great opportunity to encourage children to learn to sew themselves. Therefore, I always try to gear the doll-related present to the interests of each particular child rather than my own personal taste. All sewing makes me blissfully happy. Still, I always seek out the potential outcome of introducing children to the joys of sewing on their own for themselves and for future generations. — Thank you to each designer and contributor to this Twelve Days of Christmas giveaway. It is always exciting to hope and dream of one day winning. I always love reading everyone’s entries to see what inspires them as well. There is so much to learn from everyone. God bless, and Happy New Year to all!

Today, everyone is so casual wearing jeans all the time or worse. You have to wonder if they have any pride in their appearance when they wear sweat pants and pajamas to shop. Very sad.
