A favorite cultural tradition I take part in is El día de Reyes. It’s on epiphany snd it’s the day children in Spain get their presents from the Three Wise Men. Even though Santa visits our home, we make sure that The Three Wise Men do too.

Beautiful outfits! I’m proud to be an American of Irish-German descend,with a wee dram of Scot and English added to the mix. Corned beef and cabbage with a loaf of Irish soda bread is the only cultural thing we do.

My favorite family tradition is Thanksgiving! That is the time that my family gathers together and really enjoy each others company so much. I have taught my granddaughter to make yeast rolls and how to pay attention to texture and smells, not just the recipe.
My family is German and my husband Mexican, so we also incorporate a lot of traditions from those cultures in our family gatherings.
I was going to say that I wished you had outfits from Germany…like lederhosen! Then I discovered today that you already have that! I bet a lot of us have had that happen through the 12 days of Christmas!

My favorite cultural tradition is the Scottish and all the great outfits Clare wore in OUTLANDER.. Such neat ones when in France and on to America as well as Scotland.
I have both Irish and Scottish relatives and would love to make these outfits. Australian too and need outfits of the world which would be a good idea to dress all dolls this way and photo. We need peace and this is a good thing. Love all your patterns.

My favorite cultural tradition and take part in is the Hispanic tradition with the colorful costumes and the delicious food.
My favorite traditions are in what we eat == sauerkraut and dumplings YUM. My mother was Scottish and my son in law is too. I would love to make these outfits for my grand daughter’s dolls.
With Outlander being such a popular show now I would like to authentic 18th century clothing patterns. I’m fascinated by how the sleeves were laced to the bodice, the funny little pads under the clothes to “plump” them up, the many layers it took to be dressed.

A cultural tradition I find interesting is the ethnic food fairs held in local areas. I would like to see a unique ethnic outfit for the boy dolls.
My heritage is Irish and Scottish. I love these patterns and will buy them if I don’t win. My children keep telling me I need to curb my doll fetish but I can’t. I have purchased completed costumes and really want to make these.
Traditions I love. Sewing and quilting is a tradition that I started with my children. When I taught home economics, I spent 2-3 days talking with the kids about traditions. The outfits today being very traditional and would go with the collection to my grandchildren

I have just learned that my family is of Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and Scandinavian decent through DNA testing, so naturally I was very excited to see the Highland outfits being offered. I am currently studying traditions of my heritage. My husband and I have traveled to Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England recently to see the countries of my ancestors. Cultural outfits for any of these countries would be most pleasing for me. Thank you for offering these outfits.

A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is Eastern European as my family was from Hungary. A cultural pattern I would like to see offered at Pixie Faire would be a traditional Hungarian celebration dress for the 18" doll size. I have it on my 2019 bucket list to create such a pattern but life usually gets in the way of my plans.
A favourite cultural tradition I take part in is listening to Bagpipe music with our family. When ever we would all get together my dad would start a cd and we would all just listen to the bagpipes. dad is gone now so bagpipes always make me smile and miss him at the same time.

One of my favorite traditions is making lefse. I would like to see the traditional dress from Norway.
My favourite cultural tradition is the making of Ollie Bollen (a sort of fried raisin bread) on New Years’ Eve. It was a tradition in my husband’s family and when he married me, my mom incorporated that tradition into our traditions. It is an annual reminder of the importance of traditions and also of my mother, who always did so much for people (our home was often filled with neighbors and strangers who had no other place to go at Christmas) especially at this time of year.

I don’t really have a favourite cultural tradition . We enjoy going to an event here every year that is like a mini world expo. You get to go to many different countries pavilions and taste the food, see the traditional costumes, see displays of art works and dances, and learn a bit about each ones heritages. We have 4 biological children ( Caucasian ) and we adopted a family of 4 children ( African American heritage ). We try to teach all the kids to embrace other cultures. I’d love to see some Traditional African , Amish, Native American, and Scottish patterns.

I’m part Cherokee and wish my Grandfather had lived longer so I could have learned more about our heritage. He passed when I was very young. I’m also part Irish, and enjoy seeing my son proudly wear his kilt.

My favorite tradition is cooking of cornered beef and cabbage and baking Irish soda bread on st. Patrick day. The patterns I would like to see from China the terminal kimono.
The cultural tradition I enjoy participating in is the Quilting Arts. As a child I remember playing under the large quilting frames while neighborhood ladies quilted quilts at my Grandmothers home. This was done to provide quilts for family and friends to keep their bedtimes warm.

My family going back a few generations moved around a lot…they were in russia, Germany, Italy, switzerland, etc at one point or another and it shows in our family recipe book. Being of Dutch decent, my favorite cultural celebration is Sinterklaas Day. In early December we celebrate the coming of Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) and exchange gifts. On December 25 we celebrate the coming of Jesus. I so appreciate the opportunity to separate these two celebrations to give the due meaning to each. My sons also enjoyed getting their gifts before any of their friends. I know there are already beautiful Dutch costumes available to sew for AG dolls. I cannot think of a specific pattern I would like to see you design.
How about patterns for clothing which include a traditional American Nativity of Mary, Joseph, shepherds, wise men & somehow a baby Jesus?

My favorite cultural tradition that I take part in is going to the Irish and Scottish festivals. I’m German Irish but I’m a sucker for bagpipes as well. I’d like to see Irish step dancing costumes for boys and girls.
A cultural pattern that I would like to see would be anything from the Netherlands. My great-grandparents came to the US from Holland, so it would be fun to have more outfits to make for our granddaughters that would demonstrate our heritage.

A favourite cultural tradition that I take part in is reading the Bible story each Christmas Eve. A cultural pattern that I would like to see would be traditional Chinese or Japanese attire.
A favorite cultural tradition I take part in is helping my family make a good old-fashioned Scottish dumpling and a batch of potato scones for breakfast on Christmas morning. A cultural pattern I would like to see offered at Pixie Faire would be some traditional Pacific Islands outfits and accessories.
My mother is Slovak and has passed along the tradition of Pysanky, or Ukrainian Eggs. They are decorated with a complex system of hot wax and dyes. I would love to see any of the beautiful Slovak folk costumes as a pattern.
I would like to see Mardi Gras and Oktoberfest costumes.
I have always admired the Scottish! I went to a highschool that we’re Scottsmen. I was on the drill team and learned a few dances with swords. Our drillmaster was a drill sergeant in the Marines. She was scottish and put a lot of research into her marching and dancing. I joined the military because of her, she impressed me so much! I spent a whole career in the military. I was able to visit Scotland while I was stationed in Germany. That was the highlight of my 3 year tour. I also have Scottish in my blood. I attend the Scottish games that are held locally in July. It just runs in my blood and I can’t get enough!

A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is the American Indian Powwow. Though I don’t believe I have any native blood, everything about history and culture of this people fascinates me. Playing cowboy and Indian as a child, I always wanted to be an Indian. A cultural pattern I would like to see offered at Pixie Faire would be American Indian tribal dress, both male and female.

A cultural pattern I would like to see offered at Pixie Faire would be Japan’s Hinamatsuri, also known as the Japanese Doll Festival and Girls’ Day. Young women display their dolls proudly and have friends over to admire them and share tea and cakes. Imagine the lovely kimonos and patterns to make or dress dolls for AG-scale dolls ! It’s a great celebration of girls and dolls, and would fit right in with Pixie Faire’s ideals.
We celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with special family activities up until the Sunday of Epiphany. It is often a challenge due to the appearance of so much valentine promotion so thank you for keeping this tradition alive! How about some Amish clothing? (I’ve been living in Lancaster Pennsylvania so have gotten used to seeing so many earring this. You might have to substitute Velcro for the straight pins they use but little fingers might find that helpful)
I don’t follow a lot of cultural traditions for holidays, even though there are so many varied cultures from all over the world in my background (including both Scottish, and Irish). Growing up, my family didn’t really share a lot of history with me, so I mainly followed whatever the modern traditions were each year. However, every year for this time of year I do make a special rumball recipe for sharing with friends. And I also send off Christmas cards through the mail to friends & family with a special crocheted item to add to their tree.
