I sew primarily as a hobby for my great nieces and a couple of my friend’s children. On average, I spend about 4 hours per week.
I sew primarily as a hobby, but also do garment sewing and alterations as a little side business. I have a group of women who come and sew at my downstairs sewing studio and also teach elementary age children sewing classes. I sew on average about 20 hours per week.
I have a hard time answering this question. I primarily sew, but also knit and crochet. I seem to split my sewing time between my etsy shop and projects for my family or gifts. It can vary from 20 hours a week to none!

Need to set it up more like a business where I can devote a certain amount of time daily or weekly.

I sew as a hobby and because most of the time it’s more economical to do so. I do alterations for friends sometimes. It varies each week as to how much time I spend sewing, depending on the project.
I crochet. While I normally do afghans and stuffed animals, I have taken up crocheting clothes for dolls. I enjoy the design factor in it. I crochet varying amounts of time during the week. My favorite doll size has been 4 – 10 inches. I crochet clothes for them for Operation Christmas child. It takes a long time using the thread so am looking to learn to sew to speed up the process. :) I would say about 6-8 hrs a week or more depending on the project

I sew to save money on a counselor, as this is my stress reliever. When I have a hard week at work I may sew an average of 15 hours a week to unwind. When I bring the baby gifts that I make to work they ask me when do I have time to sew. It is a whole lot cheaper I didn’t really understand when my mom said this is a hobby that you will come to enjoy and need to help relieve the day to day pressures of life as you get older.

Most weeks I knit with a prayer shawl ministry 2 hours but also spend the evenings watching TV with any of my hand work. I usually only sew during the day. So probably anywhere from 2 to 20 hours. Sometimes more, sometimes less, since I also spend some of my creative time with basket weaving.

I sew and crochet and other crafting primarily for booth in consignment shop. I also sew for gifts and charity. Enjoy giving. Craft every day. Some days it is difficult to keep at it, but if I find a project that is fun and I am pleased with the results, it can be a marathon crafting day.
