Hi Everyone! To wrap up the topic of embellishments we are going o take a look at hand embroidery and sewing with beads. I love this type of detail work because a little bit can make a big impact on the overall look and feel of the garment.
As promised, we are keeping it simple with just a few basic stitches. The great thing is that you can build on this and experiment with a bunch of other techniques to build on what you've learned here! I've included some resources below for other sites that have great tutorials for more not this topic as well.
In the videos posted below, I share with you a few basic stitches - the backstitch, chain stitch, split stitch, and the french knot. You can use these to create a variety of stitch combinations. It's a great place to start! I hope this will encourage and inspire you to try something new!

I love the Whitework embroidery in this Dover publication. It’s full of simple design outlines. If the scale is too large, scan and make a reduced the print size. You can check it out here.

Hey Cinnamon I’m having trouble downloading these videos. I don’t want to lose the chance to get them. I really think my internet is to slow. I don’t know what to do.
Loved this…amazing what a needle and a little bit of thread can do!
Really enjoyed this video. I used to embroider as a teen, I forgot how nice it can be. I am looking forward to using some embellishments. Thanks Cinnamon.
