“My favorite era of clothing and fashion is any time in the early 1900’s. I especially love the 20’s and 50’s. But I also enjoy the 60’s and 80’s. I’d love to see a pattern for a flapper dress as mentioned by others. Cool hats from the 30’s would be awesome! Love 50’s dresses! I also would love to see “hippy” style clothing from the 60’s. It is really hard to pick an era, but I will go with the early Fifties. I would love to see some more sophisticated versions from that era, i.e. swing coats instead of poodle skirts.

My favorite eras of clothing and fashion are the 20s and 30s. The emerging of the silouette and beautiful flowing lines accentuating a woman’s lovely shape was really a cornerstone for women’s fashion stepping forward. I’d love to see a pattern for an Egyptian Goddess or an spectacularly ornate mythical fairy. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

My favorite era is modern. I sew clothes for my niece’s dolls, and she likes to pretend that they are adults with adult jobs. Sometimes one doll is a doctor who takes care of the other dolls, sometimes one doll is a teacher (my niece is in first grade, so they learn what she is learning), other times one doll is a hairdresser.

She recently received a boy doll, so I would love to see more modern clothes for boys.

I adore that orange romper!! These pieces are a new look compared to the patterns that I have.
The best thing about American Girl sewing is that the project size is not so small as to be miserable. I tried sewing for Barbie – ugh – ended up hand stitching everything. Wellies are fun but still a little small to work with. I sew as a way to connect with my Granddaughters. Four year old Penny took me to her room to see her birthday doll Alaina of Avalor. She said, “Grannie, don’t you think Willa’s clothes would fit Alaina?”
