My favourite holiday tradition is spending Dec. 25th celebrating two special birthdays: Jesus and my husband’s. Other traditions include making and decorating cookies. This year, we started a new tradition, hopefully, Christmas Eve game night.

My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the Christmas tree with my family. Every year we add one new ornament for each of us. It’s beautiful to look back and see the ornaments representing each year.

We buy a potted tree each year and they don’t typically look like a traditional Xmas tree- weeping cedar, contorted filbert, sometimes they don’t even have leaves! but they are decorated and the kids help plant them later in spring. The kids are grown and the land is a forest of very different but much loved former Xmas trees. A few weeks ago I asked my son if he had seen the dogs and he said “Yeah- asleep under 2004”. Its my favorite part of our yard and holidays.

My favorite holiday tradition is doing an art project together with my family. One year we made stained glass ornaments, another year we carved linoleum to make print blocks, one year we made stockings for the whole family out of felt. This year I am making handmade holiday cards for friends and family.

Visiting family (and now not having to pay for groceries while I visit). As a kid my parents and I always went to my grandparents, now it’s me visiting my parents. Since I live around 600 miles away from my parents (and as a kid we lived around 500 miles from my grandparents) it’s nto a trip that’s made often.
