More about the Custom Thimbles & Acorns Dress: This beautiful dress is hand-made by Shari Fuller from the Maria Antoinette Zone Front Gown pattern. This historical dress is made with high quality cotton fabrics that are true to the time period. A delicate straw hat completes the look! Your 18" American Girl® doll will look fabulous in this new dress.
More About The Pattern: This zone-front gown is a Robe a l'Anglaise (a gown with a bodice that closes in the front without the use of a stomacher) with diagonal pieces sweeping from the top center front to just before the side seams at the waist, pening up into the skirt. This creates a separate piece across the stomach (a separate "zone”). The gown pictured on the front cover is made in one color and set off with a sheer organza trim, but the color of the center “zone” can be changed to give it a completely new look. The gown bodice closes down the front with hooks and eyes, edge-to-edge, with trim along the center front. The back of the gown is made in the En 'Fourreau style, a method where the back of the skirt and the back of the bodice are one piece, and the bodice portion is pleated and sewn down to create the shaping. The sleeves are full length with a double organza ruffle along the bottom edge and placket. The trimmings consist of gathered bands of organza. The standout feature of this gown is the wide red belt with rhinestone buckle. This PDF pattern is designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl® or other Similarly Sized Dolls.

Definitely #28! maybe it’s just me but does #60 look a bit washed out??
But #28 looks AMAZING!!!
I think Truely Me #28 wears it best.
I voted #28 I think she wears it better
I voted for Truly Me #28. She reminds me so much of one of my Granddaughters. She has such a lovely eager look on her face like she can’t wait to enjoy her life.
Both are beautiful in this outfit but # 60 is a favorite with me – she’s stunning!
I like it on # 28 best with her brown eyes and medium skin!
I love the outfit with Truly Me #60. Her dark hair creates a lovely contrast to the beautiful gown. All of Shari’s patterns are awesome!
Love the American Dolls. I think #60 looks very pretty in the outfit.
I have always loved dolls. Even at the age of 74 I still love them. Would love to win one. ?
I love the look of #28. She matches the time period with her coloring, the brown hair looks like it belongs.
I love them both, but..I vote for Truly Me 28! The outfit goes better with her eyes and hair coloring!
The dark hair and brilliant blue eyes of #60 are stunning with the colors and print of the dress. And oh the hat! Lovely, lovely combination and a nice way to experience this pattern in a different style.
Thanks Shari for your generosity and creativity!
Number 28s hair color makes her look best in the dress
Truly Me #28 wears this the best — her brown eyes and skin tone look best with the natural colors of the dress.
I really want a doll with dark hair and blue eyes but I think 28 really looks better in this dress.
My favorite is Truly Me #60.
I def think #28 wears this best. The blond hair looks wonderful with the fabric.
I say #60, but both are lovely!
Number 60’s coloring goes better with the outfit I think so I voted for her!
I like #28 best. I think her light hair shows off the dress the best.
I like #60 the coloring just seems to work for her.
Both are beautiful dolls, but I think the color suits #60 better.
Definitely #60!
I like this patterns and the colors look best with #60.
I really like #28. However they are both lovely.
I just love #60 in this dress. Her eyes just seem to sparkle!! The dress is beautiful on both but 60 pulls it off so well!
I believe #60 wears it best. She reminds me of Scarlet O’Hara! Blue eyes & black hair.
I usually don’t like classic mold faces, but this ensemble really looks lovely on #60! :O
I like this outfit best on #60. Thank you for your giveaways!
truly me #28 is my fav. This is a beautiful dress.
It’s #28 for me! Her soft brown eyes, sweet smile and shiny hair complement this beautiful outfit perfectly!
I like it on #60 best, especially in those colors. It makes her eyes look brighter and the dark hair compliments the colors.
What a close call this time. Either doll wears it perfectly so that left me , if being forced to choose, to go with the #28 doll as she reminds me of my late sister.
I love blue eyes but 28 has my vote on this one!
I like # 28 the best. Both dolls look great. Just prefer # 28.
Lovely dress. I like Truly Me #28’s hair color and skin with the fabric colors.
I like #60 best with this dress, love the style
I love this dress SO much! And this makes me look at Truly Me 60 a lot more closely, she’s beautiful!
Both dolls are so adorable. It was VERY hard to decide. But my vote has to go to Truly Me #60 as the contrast with the colors of the beautiful dress and her eyes are stunning!
Thank You!!!!! .
Number 28 the best has her hues in her hair really blend well with the dress.
Truly Me # 28 wears it best. She reminds me of the time my mother made us matching long dresses for a 100 year centennial celebration in Burnet, Texas. There was a parade, food games etc. I think I was about five or six years old. Then in the ’70’s we had a celebration at our church and again she made us matching dresses. I think this dress the dolls are wearing is so cute and brought back pleasant memories.
I prefer Truly Me #60. She looks the least bucktoothed?
Both dolls are lovely!
Both are beautiful. I’m going to vote for #28, love the color in her face.
I like #28 best. The light hair works best in my opinion.
This outfit is really cute on both dolls, but #60 is the one for me. Love those blue eyes.
I love #60. Classic face mold, black hair, blue eyes- perfect combination for fabric used for this dress.
Thank you Shari for this absolutely adorable pattern; Truly Me #28 looks gorgeous in this style and color with her brown eyes. Wish I could wear it.
It is such a hard choice this time! They both look so amazing. I chose truly me #60. Thank you for all the amazing giveaways.
28 looks better in the dress even if 60 has remarkable eyes
Love them both , thank you
I like #28 better. I think the dress color looks better on her. The dress is really pretty. Thank you for the pattern!
Truly me #28 wears it best! So cute!
They both look amazing, but my vote goes to #28.
My vote is for #60!! Thank you Shari!
This was a tough one . Usually my eye is drawn to one or the other right away but not this time . I like the lighter hair , but the contrast of the dress and darker is my favorite .
Such a difficult decision but in the end I went with my first impression. #28 looks as if this beautiful dress were made for her!
Both are beautiful but #28 wins.
I think Truly me #60 is stunning in this outfit.
28 is so pretty. She has my vote for sure?
I love the cool hues on the cool blond!
I think they are both so beautiful in the outfit, but I like #28 the best.
Really hard to choose! Both will wear the dress with gracefulness and beauty, but finally choose #28. The dress is wonderful, the color suits them both, but the subtle color belongs to #28.
Love them both, but I vote for #60. My only granddaughter (3 boys, 4 grandsons) will have black hair and very blue eyes. How could I vote any other way?
Thank you for all you do, Sandy S
I love both dolls and the dress is gorgeous but I really think the blue eyes and dark hair on #60 make the colors in the dress pop.
I love #28. Am partial to her brown eyes. She looks good in the dress too.
I love the dress but the color washes out to me on the light haired doll. Maybe it just me but they both are gorgeous dolls and I love the dress.
My vote is for #60.
Truly Me looks like my precious Granddaughter who loves these dolls, and the dresses I make for her. The outfit is beautiful, and brings History into modern day life, in a visual presence.
Tough decision but I vote for #60. Thanks.
Number 28 gets my vote. Thanks for this opportunity.
The #60 is more sophisticated looking and looks ready to go out to town for shopping. The other #28 looks more laid back and the dress is fine on her but doesn’t give her a finished look.
Vote for #60
American girl doll #60 is lovely in this outfit. I vote for her.
Whoah, Never took very much time deciding. This one is difficult, but I am going with
Truly Me. I would think girls on the Prairie would have dark hair. Could be wrong, as they were probably out in the sun a good part of the day. Anyway, Truly Me, it is. :-)
I love number 28 in this outfit. She looks lovely.
I love the dress with the lighter hair of 28. So pretty.
I think this is stunning on #60
Love the dress and the color of it is beautiful! I chose #60 because her dark hair and blue eyes compliment the dress and hat
Number 60 has my vote.
I think #28 looks more like a sweet little prairie girl.
Both look really go bit I like #60 a little better
Both are lovely, but I love the darker hair and fairer skin of #60 with the green of this dress. It makes her eyes pop really well too!
I like #60 with this outfit
I voted for Truly Me #28.
I picked #28, but they both look beautiful!
#60: with her porcelain skin tone, brilliant blue eyes and rich dark hair: she looks like she is straight out of an Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun portrait.
Truly me #60 her hair colour just brings out the dress and it stands out.
Hard decision both are pretty, but #60 reminds me of a relative I love, so I voted for her
I think #60 looks best in the wonderful dress. The color is perfect for her
Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful dress. Both dolls look wonderful.
The fabric colors look best on #28.

I like the gown on both girls, but like it slightly better with No. 28’s coloring.
