Get to know Dianne Saunders (in her own words): "I can remember my Mom setting at our kitchen table sewing in the evenings. I must have been 5 or 6 years old, hovering over her watching in awe as she would sew a dress for my sister or myself. I couldn't wait to grow up and start sewing. As soon as Mom knew I had an interest she started teaching me a little at a time. How to read a pattern, placing it correctly on the material. Mom would give me scraps for my dolls and I would hand sew my own creations, loving every moment. In the 60's the 7th and 8th graders had Home Economics. In order to graduate from 8th grade we had to sew our own graduation dress. I found myself helping my class mates from cutting out their patterns and giving hints on how to sew the dress together. Because of Mom and the love of sewing, I have been sewing my whole life. In 2014 my Niece asked me to sew her girls some 18'' doll cloths. Up for the challenge and giving me an excuse to sew doll cloths once again, I started immediately. I rediscovered my love for dolls and designing new patterns to fit them. I wore 1950's girls dresses as a child and twirling around feeling like a princess. So, that is where I stared my doll collection. So, create what you love, share what you know, and be inspired every day."

Inquiring Minds Want To Know...
Q: What's your favorite food?
Dianne: I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I have great memories of My Mom and Dad taking us to his favorite Mexican food restaurant. I am always trying to recreate those memories with my Kids, sharing my best Mexican food with them.
Q: What's your favorite tv show or movie?
Dianne: I just love time period programs. Like Downton Abby, or the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice. I am fascinated with their way of life and adore the clothing that was warn at that time.
Q: Coffee or Tea??
Dianne: With all the variations that are out there today, why choose, love them both.
Q: Where's your favorite place to shop?
Dianne: Any fabric store. I adored going to the fabric store with my Mom growing up. All those possibilities just waiting to happen. I still feel the same way when I walk into a fabric store today.
Q: What inspired your brand name?
Dianne: My favorite doll didn't have a name. So, I called her Dolly not knowing that a girl could be called Dolly as a nick name or first name. So I named my line: Dolly Wears.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
Dianne: Take me to Paris to see all those new fashions. A dream come true.
We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us - which look is best! And be sure to thank Dianne for giving away such a cute outfit!

I really love them both, but have to admit, the accessories make the Kansas Girl stand out. Thank you for sharing your passion.
Oh those red shoes… Every girl needs at least one pair! I just found my next project. LOL
I like Sunday Best with the black shoes.
It is an adorable outfit
I like the Kansas girl. Red shoes are one of the things I remember about the movie.
When I was in my 40’s, I bought a pair of red heels. The girls at work teased me about being a country girl from the farm. I said “yup, just call me DOROTHY from Kansas.”
The shoes were a little tight and a girl at work always broke my shoes in for me. Everyone laughed every time she wore them. And also when I word them. I even clicked my heels three times. A few years passed and my friend Carol was terminally ill with Cancer. She would not see anyone, not even her family. Her husband said he never saw her smile, until I mailed her a card with a little note. On the front of the card was a pair of red high heels.
He wanted to know the story behind the card, as it made her smile….
She was a wonderful friend, in her early 30’s. Left 2 girls under 12 behind.. Sorry to be so sad, but to me DOROTHY always wore her red shoes.
Kansas Girl…the red shoes are great!
Kansas girl
Kansas Girl has my vote. Love her red hair and ruby red slippers!
Next year our retreat theme is Wizard of Oz so this would be perfect.

Kansas girl!
Sunday Best, please. What a beautiful pattern, and dear to me because I remember pinafores! Thanks!
Thank you Dianne for an adorable Sunday Best outfit. It reminds me of a gingham dress that not only I had but also my mother and grandmother had. I wore it when we went shopping. If I got lost from my mother or grandmother, I just had to look at my dress then look for a matching dress, and I would probably find one of my family. Oh yeah, my two brothers had gingham shirts, also. What a wonderful memory!
I have to vote for the Kansas Girl! Thank you for creating it.
They are both pretty, but I like Sunday Best.
Thanks Dianne! I like Sunday Best – a redhead to boot! I am one of the few people who have no fondness for Dorothy and Oz!!
Absolutely adorable dress!

Why choose just one! I love them both. But being a dog lover, if I have to choose one over the other, it has nothing to do with the clothing but with the dog. I choose Kansas Girl but would dress it up for church on Sunday too!
Darling look. Who doesn’t love Toto.
Kansas Girl is a cute version of this pattern but I prefer the dressiness of Sunday best. Thank you Dianne and Pixies Faire.
