"I have always had a love of sewing and have been fascinated with manipulating fabric since being taught by my gran from around the age of 7. In more recent years, besides general sewing, I have made and taught quilting and dabble with crochet and knitting. My love of dolls was put on hold for many years until several years ago when I happened upon Pixie Faire’s site and fell in love with all the outfits and beautiful dolls.
Living in South Africa, good quality dolls are not readily available, but a month after venturing into the doll world, my son surprised me with my beautiful AG Julie and with much encouragement from him, my late husband and awesome friends, I started designing dolls’ clothes. My pattern catalogue and doll family have both grown over the years of what has been the most wonderful experience and which I wouldn’t trade for the world."

Q: What inspired your brand name?
When my son gave me my first AG – Julie – I referred to her as Miss Muffett and took it from there.
Q: What’s your favorite sewing tip?
If you’re having a spot of bother with a particular step, walk away. Have a cup of coffee, walk around your garden, play with your pet. Whatever you do, relax. When you get back to sewing, the problem is usually a lot easier to face.
Q: Is there a new hobby, craft, or skill you’d like to learn?
As me and my serger are not on speaking terms, I’d really like to get to know how to use it (without tying myself up in knots). I’d also love to get back to working on some new stained glass pieces.
Q: Who is your favorite doll?
As far as my favorite doll is concerned - Julie will always be my first love as my son gave her to me, but I don't think she is right for all my designs.
Q: What’s your favorite flower or plant?
Being an avid flower arranger, I’m very fond of all flowers and plants and have several favorites – roses, wisteria, jasmine, gladioli, mimosa and magnolias to name a few.
Q: What would you say is the most daring or exciting thing you’ve ever done?
I’m not very good with heights, so taking the cable car to visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado in Rio was terrifying, but absolutely beautiful and so worth it.

I really like the Dream Catcher pattern.
It would about as easy to select a favorite child. “Time to Celebrate” with it’s many variations and “Faerie Faye” are two I really like, but when you have forty or so, it gets tough to decide.
The first pattern of hers I made was kitty cabaret. That’s why it’s my favorite. I also love the Shepardess!!

I love all of Little Miss Muffett’s patterns. So many of them have a whimsical touch! My favorite, though is Roadhouse Roller Skater.
I’m loving these patterns and that you have included both sewing and crochet patterns. I liked finding the Senor Pequeno pattern as it was very unique and also on my sewing level. My favorite pattern of all is Punk Rock Princess because it reminds me of Avril Lavigne, but I’ll have to get a little more practice before attempting that one.
Well so far I like the “Let’s Play School” and the “Girl Next Door” best because they come in 14" size and are SO versatile. But I REALLY like the Steampunk design and would love to try it for my Kids and Cats girl. I was glad to see that you had lots of patterns in smaller sizes as I have a LOT of Sasha dolls who need clothes and one Ruby Red Fashion Friend.
I would have to say that the Parisian Chic pattern might be my favorite. However the Victorian Laine and Hermione Granger dress are also at the top of my favorites list.

I have two favourites: The Wedgewood dress and hat with the ballerina shrug bundle and the Willow dress and Breton hat set. I have several Miss Muffet patterns and I love them all but these are my faves.

The outfits are pretty and the details enhance but don’t overwhelm the outfits. In looking at the catalog the Jilly pattern caught my eye. What a cute design.

Parisian Chic, Miss Junior High, and Dressed For Tea, ate my favorite patterns. They are so sweet, and remind me of days gone by.
I like that your designs are”age appropriate “. Many patterns I’ve seen are meant for older age group dolls and not for little girls as I believe American girl dolls are supposed to represent.
I have many of your patterns. I have used them to win many blue ribbons at State Fair. I never sell my outfits. I give them away with a doll to an organization that distributes them to needy children.
Lovely design
I have several Miss Muffett patterns, but my favorite is Unicorns and Sugarplums. My little granddaughter asked for a dress for her Wellie doll and described what she wanted. Little Miss Muffett must have overheard because her design was perfect and only needed crystal’s added to make it exact.
There are so many patterns that I love from Little Miss Muffet! I do love the Soda Jerk pattern! I enjoy making clothes for the 18 inch boy dolls as well as the girl dolls.
I have several of your patterns in both 18" and 14.5". I really like the way the 18" patterns fit the older AG dolls. It’s hard to pick a favorite and I look forward to seeing the new patterns you create. One that I made recently was Topsy Turvey in both sizes. So cute!

I have some of your patterns but I don’t think I have made any of them yet. I need to get over my depression funk and get back to sewing. The first step is getting off the couch and into the sewing room to clean it since 4 kittens have created quite a mess.
