More About Donna and Eden Ava Couture (in her own words).

I taught myself to sew when I was a very young 20 year old, who was starting a new job, and needed a quick wardrobe.  I moved on to sewing for the home when I purchased my first house.  When my daughters started collecting American Girl Dolls, I found I could make most of the clothes in one evening….and that was it…..I was hooked by the instant gratification! Designing and sewing for American Girl Dolls has become a passion for me.  Partnering with Pixie Faire is a both a thrill and an honor!

The dress buttons in the back. Sleeves are 3/4 length and are embellished with velvet trim. The apron front and neckline feature contrast piping in the same velvet trim as the sleeve. Glass beads embellish the button holes.

1970 Holiday Outfit:
This 1970′s inspired 2 piece holiday outfit for 18-inch dolls designed by Eden Ava Couture provides a fun grown up look for a little girl celebrating the holidays back in the 70′s. This pattern is designed to use special occasion fabric such as Tafetta, satin, or shaunting for the skirt and cotton and lace for the blouse.

Dear Donna, Thank you so much for the 1912 Apron Dress pattern! I love it so much that I purchased the cloche hat pattern too for a lovely matching outfit. Really love the historical outfits/patterns from that era and I can’t wait to try this pattern for my AG dolls once my sewing skills improve. Thanks again for your wonderful work!

Thank you, Donna, for being willing to share your talent on Freebie Friday. You create such beautiful clean lines in your designs. The 1912 dress was my choice, but the 1970’s dress photo looks like Mary Tyler Moore or Karen Carpenter just stepped out of her Christmas special in doll form!
