or fill in the blank "My biggest sewing challenge is______"
My biggest sewing challenge is like most everyone else’s comments on here: not enough time. (Or maybe I’m just too slow 😉)
My day is sewing challenge is time
My biggest sewing challenge is keeping up with & organizing all of my fabric, notions & patterns & then having time to sew up all the doll outfits I want to sew.
buttons and small items
My biggest challenge is working with stretchy fabrics
My biggest challenge is zippers
Biggest challenge is setting up a place to be creative, and organizing so that everything is at hand.
Shari Fuller hinted at future info for SWC members re: how to make Waldorf doll bodies…I’ve collected supplies and am waiting for it
Adding extras to finished items to make them look professional. Extra stitching, extra buttons, extra trim, etc.
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing in zippers
My biggest sewing challenge is finding a way to organize my supplies so I can easily access them when I want to do a project. Currently, most of my fabric and craft items are in a storage unit instead of in my home.
My biggest sewing challenge is taking or making the time to fully complete an outfit in one sitting. Too much of my time is spent overthinking what is just the right fabric.
My biggest sewing challenge is taking the time to sew, especially now that I am caretaking my elderly mom. I have several projects besides SWC and there is a lot of competition for my time.
my biggest challenge is time for just crafts/sewing.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to actually sit down and sew. I use to be able to spend many hours sewing but the past few years have been very hard. Life simply gets in the way and this entire year is very hard with my husbands illness. He has cancer and is now in process of finishing up his chemo and radiation. Last week he was in the hospital with an infection in his leg and missed a week of treatments. Praying the cancer will be killed and that he will be ok. He is now in Gods hands.
My biggest concern sewing challenge is making a nice rolled hem.
I have not made the denim jacket.
My biggest sewing challenge is choosing fabrics that coordinate with each other.
My biggest challenge is finding the time to sew these fantastic outfits! I just have so many projects on my todo list along with so many responsibilities.
My biggest challenge is finding quality affordable notions for finishing touches.
My biggest challenge is finding size appropriate trim. Zippers are my next biggest challenge.
I have Bi-Polar (mental illness) My biggest challenge is trying to sew when I’m depressed. I make mistakes… I am not creative.
My biggest challenge when sewing is deciding what to sew and then finding time to sew it.
My biggest challenge is finding the right size trims, FOE colors, knit trim colors and small. Zippers locally.
My biggest challenge is how long my “to sew” list is and finding time to get everything sewn that I want to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is a tie between three things . . . Button holes, sewing with knits, and pairing fabric. I also tend to be very insecure in my abilities.
My biggest sewing challenge is adjusting to a new machine after I killed my 1979 high school graduation gift Singer sewing over 550 donated masks during the pandemic. I’m so disappointed with the quality of stitching and even starting a seam cleanly. I’ve tried watching manufacturer videos, but I’m still not thrilled. I learned to sew at age 8 on my mom’s 1958 high school graduation gift Singer, and I swear it produced better quality seams than this!
My biggest challenge is finding the fabric, trim and notions I need at a price I can afford.
My biggest challenge is using different pressure feet for sewing. I tend to stick to my zigzag and straight stitch feet. I would like to feel comfortable using the other basic feet that come with the typical general purpose machine. Perhaps making samples to label with different widths and lengths.
My biggest challenge is a good one! So many projects to sew and which project to start next? I just pick one and dive in. All your projects are lots of fun to sew and complete. Thank you!
My biggest challenge is making my sewing projects look nice. sometimes my sewing machine doesn’t sew neatly maybe my fault and sometimes the fault of the sewing machine.
My biggest challenge is by far installing zippers.
My biggest challenge when sewing is always finding the time to sew. I recently retired and look forward to sewing more often in the future.
My biggest challenge is to find time to devote to crafting!
My biggest sewing challenge is having too many sewing projects to do and not enough time to do them.
My biggest challenge is finding the time to work on projects uninterrupted.
Is finding the time to sew. I have been collecting these patterns for years and life keeps getting in the way. I’m going to do my best to make at least one outfit this year☺️
My biggest challenge is finding the time to sew
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time to be able to sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is picking out the right fabric for my projects!
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing small armhole and other curved seams so that they come out looking good. Mine tend to be messy looking, at least to my eyes.
My biggest challenge is simply finishing! I have so many projects in the works, it’s not even funny. But I seem to lose steam as I near the end, and move on to the next thing. Sigh…
Keeping the sewing space tidy. It can take as long to straighten up before I start as it does to sew.
My biggest challenge is knits. I followed the pattern on a recent pair of tights and they have no stretch. They can’t even be cut down to socks.
My biggest sewing challenge is time management.
My biggest challenge is doing zippers.
My biggest challenge is organizing my space, especially my cutting table. I tend to pile stuff on it until there’s no room left to cut anything!
Biggest challenge is finding just the right trim to get the look I want.
My biggest sewing challenge is hand sewing such as tiny buttons and snaps! My 81 year old eyes and hands just don’t want to cooperate!😂
My biggest challenge is that I LOVE to take a pattern, and visualize how I want it to turn out . . . I then find the perfect fabric, and trims, choose the shoes/purse/and jewelry to make the complete ensemble. Then, there is the problem of getting to the sewing machine and make the magic happen!!! Then, I wake up and realize I’m still too sick to get out of bed and try to walk, and feed myself, let alone sew. So I’m still trying to create in my mind, and at least make notes. I love those dolls!!!
My biggest challenge is working with extremely lightweight and/or slippery fabrics
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the right fabric and notions for the project and then following through to completion. I tend to start projects then I am not finishing them due to supply issues, time/energy or getting stuck on what to do next.
My biggest challenge is keeping my sewing area organized and completing projects.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding what I’m looking for. I live in a very rural area (the closest Wal-Mart is a day trip!) so it’s difficult to go to a fabric store to find anything. Shopping online is OK, but the cost of fabric and shipping makes it prohibitively expensive.
Finding the time to sew as much as I would like!
Finding the time to sew!
My biggest sewing challenge is that I do most of my sewing by hand. I’m 82 and this chair is comfortable and well lighted. I WANT to get acquainted with my new machine but haven’t yet got it out of zigzag mode. My dolls need jeans and denim jackets and rugged clothes that have topstitching!
My biggest sewing challenge is finding tiny print fabric and accessories such as buttons, zippers, etc.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the fabrics and embellishments I want.
My biggest sewing challenge is deciding which fabric to use for a project.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew. I work part time and always feel like I should spend more time with family than with my sewing machine!
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing knits, satins, basically any difficult fabric.
My biggest sewing challenge is not knowing which fabric prints coordinate with each other. Each time I go to make a project that requires more than 1 fabric print, I seem to always choose fabric that I think would go together nicely until I make the project then realize that they don’t match all that well.
My biggest sewing challenge is what to sew first with so many cute patterns it’s hard to decide
My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with knits. Even with a walking foot I struggle.
My biggest sewing challenge is finishing projects. If I run into a snag I toss it away for later and there it sits a year later.
I live out in the country and my biggest challenge is buying fabric on the internet. Often it is hard to tell how big or little the motif on the fabric is, it would be a good idea if they would put a one inch square pic on the page so you could tell how big the print is.
My biggest challenge is finding the right fabric for what I want to make.
My biggest sewing challenge is getting the repair not to retear.
My biggest challenge is just finding the time to sew. It’s a passion!
Making time to sew for myself.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to sew all the items |I want to. New Year’s resolution?
My biggest sewing challenge is finding enough time to do all the things I want to try.
My biggest sewing challenge is adding embellishments to outfits
My biggest challenge is I’m a beginner sewer!
My biggest sewing challenge is learning how to use my serger.
My biggest sewing challenge is making dresses/outfits using all the patterns I have collected!
I’d probably say zipper installation
My biggest sewing challenge is finding time to work on all the cute things I want to make.
My biggest sewing challenge is I sew very slow. I take long breaks during projects and have to get motivated to get back on track.
My biggest challenge is finding the right spot to sew and making it part of my day. My spot was in the basement and now my husband works down there. So I moved upstairs, but it just hasn’t felt right. My stuff is everywhere!
My biggest challenge is slippery fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is over thinking the project!!!
My

This is great – it makes me feel better to be reminded that we all have sewing challenges! My biggest challenge currently is trying to get myself over my fear to learn the new computerized sewing + embroidery machine that I spent a pretty penny on a couple of months ago! Wish there was a way to get personal lessons but the dealer isn’t here in my new home state.
