My biggest sewing challenge is either sizing because I don’t use a sewing machine, I hand sew everything or finishing a creation then it rips when I try to put it on my dolls.

My biggest sewing, knitting, or crochet challenge is complexity. I knit by hand. Crochet basic stitches. And have a regular old sewing machine. People have all these computer sewing machines. It’s hard to keep up.

My biggest sewing challenge is getting started! I have so many patterns, supplies, ideas, and enthusiasm, but I always seem to get sidetracked. My goal for 2018 is to create more than I did in 2017, and be more cognizant of when I’m getting distracted.

I haven’t sewn for at least 40 years. I have 2 new grandchildren a girl who is 4 1/2 and a boy who is 3. It has inspired me to take up sewing again. I have made my granddaughter a few things and tried to make matching outfits for her doll. The doll clothes are much harder because everything is so small. Also, very hard to find patterns for my granddaughter with a matching outfit for her doll. Still looking. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My biggest sewing challenge is simply having enough time to make all the things I want to make. Sewing is a relaxing activity for me and I really would like to “relax” more. Knitting and crocheting are not anything I like to do. When my grandmother tried to teach me, she finely gave up, as all had were knots. This is the same woman who taught me to sew, so I thank her for all that knowledge, and realizing my limits with other types of needles and thread!!!

My biggest sewing, knitting, or crochet challenge is sewing on the actual sewing machine! I have to do everything by hand or have my husband help me out. It never fails everytime I sit down and plug it in, the bobbin gets all jumbled up. I have no clue what happens! My son is starting to learn how to use the sewing machine at school and he is enjoying it and has offered to sit down with me and give me sewing machine lessons! It’s very exciting because he is 13 and starting to not want to do a lot with me. My son is wanting to teach me is amazing! We will learn together!

My biggest challenge is time, like many others. I keep trying to get to my business to restart it and end up dealing with parental issues (long story—sad ending).
I’m learning to loom knit and have started converting simple patterns from standard knitting needles to my looms. My plan is to start making doll-sized hand and arm warmers and simple scarves and shawls and add to historical outfits when I can get back to my sewing machine.

My biggest sewing challenge is getting anything sewn! I have 4 boys, the youngest is 2 and loves to “help” me sew since the only place I have to sew is at the kitchen table. If I have to leave the table for any reason, more likely than not me thread will be half way across the room around everything possible. Some day I will miss the constant interruptions..but it doesn’t make it any easier to get Christmas presents sewn on time!
