My favorite mini prop is a mini wooden rolling pin my father made for me and my dolls many, many years ago. I hand stitched aprons for my dolls back in the day. I’ve lost the aprons, but still have the rolling pin. I’ve made new aprons to go with it.

My favorite prop must be split between two. First in the online postings. I’ve down loaded dozens and dozens of printables and have been having a ball assembling them! The newest one is wondering if I could reduce the patterns I have of faux felt food and appliances for young children’s toys! It works! For the scale…I use the size of my doll’s hands as the guide to make the size of the item equal to what it would be like if it were real. The pieces are turning out sooo cute! Most can be made from the scraps of the child toy size! Great fun!!!

One cute item I picked up at Walmart was a Halloween hat made for your dog to wear for the holiday. It even came in various sizes to accommodate whatever doll you might have. In addition, just a few months ago, Trader Joe’s had a micro-mini red tote with black straps. It contained a compact grocery bag. Prefect for your 18” to 20” doll.

My favorite prop that I made recently to go with the 1950s school girl outfit I designed for an OCC Barbie was a bookbag with a tiny math book (that had actual problems to solve), a tiny Gospel of John (with excerpts from Jesus in the upper room), and a tiny sketchbook (with a couple pictures drawn) and tiny pencils (regular & colored made out of toothpicks).

My favorite mini props are small boxes that jewelry has come in. My granddaughter makes little blankets and pillows from my fabric scraps to cover the boxes. Sometimes she decorates the boxes with markers. She uses them in the dollhouse at my home. This is a metal dollhouse Santa brought to my sister and I over 65 years ago.
