Velcro and elastic especially now with the pandemic.
I have a hard time finding tiny shoe laces.

Because of the popularity of Civil War and 30’s reproduction fabrics for quilting, the colors are easier than they’ve ever been; but, I have difficulty finding fabrics with the prints scaled to doll clothes. It’s nice to find good historical colors, but even the smaller florals, for instance, look too big when they are put on 18" dolls.
I have a hard time finding separating zippers with plastic teeth.

So finding fabric can be a issue. I have ordered it online, which I hate to do but hate to do that as fabric is something you need to see and touch.

My mom was sewing doll clothes 50 years ago and Home Sew was her source for lace and trims. I’ve been a customer myself for many years now. Love their doll size items that are hard to find like zippers and trims.
Doll sized notions
I have a hard time finding zippers. Always have to order them, no one local carries them.
I have a hard time finding doll size separating zippers – especially in colors other than just black and white. Also, find it difficult to find closures for small doll overalls. I used to have a problem finding small buttons until I found the small plastic snaps that look like buttons when attached – and they come in all different colors as well as various “metal” colors that work well with denim items.

I found Home Sew 44 years ago. They have all the doll size notions mentioned below so everyone will be very happy. Their prices and service are top notch. They still offer the tiny buttons AND tiny snaps in gross and great gross to save even more money. I would like to find more tiny cotton print fabrics for my doll sewing. The search is always fun!

I have a hard time finding 3/8" buttons which are the perfect size for 18" doll clothes back closing. Home Sew carries beautiful cotton lawn fabric which I prefer over batiste for heirloom sewing for my dolls.

I can’t find overall buckles for 13 inch dolls. The beautiful buckles on home sew are perfect for dolls 15 inch and larger but are too large for smaller dolls. The tiny ones found on the internet are very delicate and do not stay buckled. I would love to purchase the same buckles home sew has in bulk if they could supply the same quality but smaller scale!

I am finding it hard to find coordinating fabrics and matching separating zippers.
I have a hard time finding small print fabrics and the smaller notions I need. There are few shops in my area that even carry fabric let alone the other notions I need. Most shipping to my area is too expensive so I usually try to make do with what I have stashed away. My stash is getting smaller.

Buttons. There seems to be a size just above the tiny doll buttons that seems elusive. Made harder by the pandemic!
