I shop anywhere and everywhere I can think of to find patterns/fabrics/ and trims for the 15" size baby doll. So many patterns “on the market” are not baby inspired clothing, but instead, miniature adult clothing. Finding fabric in the right size print and trim in the right sizes is sooo frustrating! After reading so many of the posts, I now I am headed a few new shopping places!!

I fought valiantly to find zippers, both the kind that open at both ends, and the usual dress zipper. Then I got smart. I buy the shortest dress zipper I can find, and measure down to the desired length;with the zipper closed I zigzag over the teeth to make a new bottom-stop and cut it off..For the two-ended opening: I open the zipper, cut the teeth off at the top, and bind the remaining zipper-tape by hand, twisting away from the opening, and cut the extra off. For buckles I reuse the buckles from watch bands and sandals. If they are ugly, that is what glue guns and glitter are for!

Finding notions and trims are hardest for me because most of my dolls are 10" to 12". I re-use and upcycle where I can. I recently bought some TINY buttons at Hobbl Lobby. I think the recent junk journaling fad plus scrapbooking helps with finding all kinds of miniature things in stores.
