I primarily sew for fun. Just started to get back into it now that I have grandchildren. Sewing for the dolls & little ones as well as teaching my granddaughter. I spend about 5 hours a week but would like to do more. I’ve recently started crochetting and would like to try my hand at knitting too. Haven’t done either for many years.

I sew primarily as a hobby that has now turned into a home based business. On average, most weeks I spend no less than 5 days a week 10-12 hrs a day sewing, but if I’m really excited about what I’m sewing it turns into all 7 days spent in my “She Shed” that I have made into a fabulous sewing shop. My daughters friends come by every couple of days to see the new doll clothes and many of them have now started bring their moms by too!

I sew primarily items for my home. Recently I made a comforter cover, shams and cornices for a room I just redecorated. I spend about 10 hours a week sewing. I also spend my time making AG doll clothes. When I have time for that, I spend about 20 hours a week. I used to spend 40 hours a week sewing for a private company making men’s accessories such as bowties, vests, ascots, and belts.

I sew primarily to have a fuller life otherwise I allow chores, writing projects, busy-busy grind to consume, exhaust, and sadden me. The fuller life enlivens my contacts with my grand-girls and neighbors’ children, especially when my projects have me working with them on historical clothing to fit school history projects. Several years back your catalog cover featured an American Girl doll in a dress which closely matched a similar dress worn by one of the girl’s great-great-great grandmother to a White House reception, and we made several of those!

I want to sew as a hobby, my goal is to spend at least an hour a week. (Up until now my main hobby has been reading, but after finding Pixie Faire I’ve become excited to take up sewing, which I haven’t tried in years – and thanks to my mom getting me some basic sewing supplies of my own, I’m ready to start!)

I sew and crochet primarily as a hobby about 2-5 hours a week, but it really depends on the week. I am starting to do craft shows again, but not sure if that will be long term or not. Once I have my craft, sewing items, and areas organized; I will definitely spend more hours each week. I love the feeling of accomplishment and pride in a project that turned out the way I thought it would.

I sew, quilt, crochet, draw as a hobby and for myself to relax. I enjoy making American Girl clothes that I get from you. If I crochet an outfit or accessory, it takes me hours and maybe a week to complete, I have quilted a small quilt for my Granddaughter, which took longer because I have so much going on. I also crocheted the quilt you all had on your website, 2, one for each Granddaughter and their American Girl. If I could I would spend everyday, all day sewing, crocheting, quilting and drawing. I have now started making scarfs using the circle Knitter, and have made 2 scarfs for American Girl. So much fun making doll clothes and you all have the most wonderful designers. I may never finish making all the patterns I have gotten from you all!!!
