My favorite tradition is one we started without knowing it. We traveled to see family for Christmas and for 3 years in a row we found ourselves on the road Christmas Day and hungry… only place open? Ihop! it wasn’t until the third year that we realized! Since then we go on purpose! Every Christmas morning we open gifts and then go to ihop in our pjs for breakfast. We usually have the same server so she has become part of our family and we bless her with a whopping tip each Christmas. It’s a silly tradition but it’s one we love. 🥰🎄🥞
My favorite tradition is getting a new ornament from Hallmark for each of the kids so when they grow up and move you they can take them with them and have memories of all their previous Christmas.
My favourite holiday tradition is reading the Christmas story to my children and grandchildren and singing carols together.
My favorite holiday tradition is getting together with family.
My favorite holiday tradition is making homemade ice cream and hand turning the old fashioned way on Christmas Eve. Then we put it in the freezer and go to the local church’s Christmas Eve service. Sitting around the tree with our bowls of ice cream, visiting, and just taking time to be a family (all the cousins, grandkids, siblings coming together at my Grandma’s house) is so very special.
My favorite Holiday Tradition is always reading “The Night Before Christmas” on Christmas Eve and hanging our stockings. We get up early Christmas morning to see what Santa brought during the night, starting with our stockings that always have tangerines, chocolates and other goodies as well as a couple of small packages.
We started this when our daughter was small and continued with our grandchildren who are now adults. We usually read from an old well-used children’s book, but substitute for a text-only version on my tablet when we’re snowbirds celebrating Christmas together.
Being Americans, we celebrate Christmas and open gifts on Christmas Day even though our adopted home country of Sweden celebrates and opens gifts on Christmas Eve. Since we now have Swedish relatives, it gives us 2 days to open Christmas gifts – with our Swedish relatives on Christmas Eve and our American family on Christmas Day. But “The Night Before Christmas” is the glue that binds our Swedish and American traditions together.
My favorite holiday tradition is decorating. I put up 6 trees and TONS of other holiday goodies;
My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the Christmas Tree and spending time with family.
My favorite is celebrating Noche Buena (Christmas eve) as we did in Cuba, black beans, rice and pork, along with a seafood, and also breast of turkey as we do not have guineas chickens here. We have turrones from Spain and I include a cheesecake. The next day Mass and presents are opened here, in Cuba we wait until the 6th to open!!! Making gifts is something I love doing!! before the big day

And, of course, eating them, dough or baked.
My favorite holiday tradition is telling each family member “Christmas Eve Gift” on the 24th. Being the first to say it with each of them is a multi-generational tradition. I also love the church service on Christmas Eve and the cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas after stockings & before gifts.
My favorite tradition is making a Christmas project for my family and special friends and then passing it out during the holidays or the family get together. Those that have been with me from the beginning days have over 40 items from me. In the beginning I was painting, now it’s machine embroidery and misc. sewing. We have two new baby girls in the family this year, so it’s back to AG doll clothes—so excited.
The family gathering is always my favorite
I enjoy all our traditions, decorating, baking, gathering, presents, the nativity, and our yearly “12 Days of Christmas” song & dance routine. But truly, when young, we were poor and mom SEWED almost everything we got, from doll clothes to bow ties. And every year to this day, my family loves the items I sew for them still! This year, I disassembled my mom’s wedding dress from 1947 (it was ruined by the dry cleaners years ago) and sewed Christmas ornaments for all 58 living members of the immediate family, and an AG doll dress for my granddaughter!
I love it all! Especially catching up with friends and family that live across the country by email, photos, cards, and phone.

Decorating for the season, I try to wait until December 1st, but have enjoyed the day after Thanksgiving a time or two. We give small gifts to neighbors and Church folks, I sew and make for so many that we love. Thankful that this year Christmas falls on Sunday and we will be celebrating this morning on Brown Mountain with dear friends – - counting our blessings today and every day.
My favorite holiday tradition is that we always give at least one handmade gift. Everything else can be bought, but there’s always one handcrafted thing
My favorite holiday tradition is first going to church and then celebrating with all my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. It is usually done at our place where everyone gets together for a big meal and then we just sit around and visit or play games.
Since my children all are married and spend Christmas Eve with their “other” families, my favorite tradition is having them all come to my house on Christmas Day where we eat, we open gifts, and we play games.
My favorite Holiday Tradition is to have the family together to go to candlelight service at church.
My favorite tradition is probably Santa with the kids. Besides that I love baking cookies with my children each year.
Each Christmas morning we get up and see what is in the stockings. Followed by Christmas Mass. we we get home we each choose 1 gift, starting with the youngest we open them 1 by 1. Then we have brunch. We then choose a second gift, again opening them 1 by 1. We enjoy Christmas for the entire day this way. Pausing for at least an hour between gifts. This lets the kids (and adults) appreciate each and every gift on its own. Also we have always been self employed and some holidays can be sparse this also helped extend what we did receive. Santa NEVER brought the best gift, to hard to explain that Santa could not afford/find whatever the current trend was at the time. Also everyone gets a practical gift from the pet, either socks or underwear,it has become a running joke now that all our kids are over 30. We all still follow these traditions today.
My favorite holiday tradition is the singing of Christmas carols. Carols bring together diverse people in a common knowledge and experience.

Now we have a tradition of the family conference call as we are scattered over the world.
My favorite holiday tradition is hard to choose but one that I have missed since I removed sugar from my food choices is homemade honey cookies. This year I bought honey flavoring so I can attempt to recreate them in a new way!
My favorite part of the Christmas holiday is Mass on Christmas eve. The service, the music, all so up lifting and beautiful. Merry Christmas.

My favorite holiday tradition is watching all The Christmas Carol movies - I have 41 versions!
Family being together.
I love visiting my daughter and son-in-law. Then heading to my sister’s for a wonderful turkey dinner. Being with family …the best.
My favorite holiday tradition is creating new memories with loved ones and sharing old traditions from each of our childhoods. Like my family could only get Mandarin oranges at Christmas when I was little, so they have become something special to me. I always like get a bag of them and hand one out to everyone who comes over – a little bit of love in a fragrant package!
In The Netherlands Christmas is two days, and my favorite Christmas tradition is on December 26th .the yearly Christmas Concert of Excelsior , the brash band my father and mother played saxofoon in , and my sister is playing percussion now. It is a concert in the church in my hometown, and I love going there, and after we have a family lunch. Used to be at my mothers but since a few years it is at my house. Nothing fancy, just a happy get together, some food, and a lot of laughs.

I love following German traditions since my husband was born there. Opening gifts on Christmas Eve saves a lot of stress for Christmas morning.
