My favourite holiday tradition is decorating the tree with my daughter, to the Alvin and the chipmunks album. We’ve always done it from she was a child. We have egg nog and reminisce about all the happy memories of Christmases past. It’s our special tradition.
My family is now scattered all over the US and it is difficult and expensive to get together so we usually zoom celebrate. Since family cannot be here; I started a few years ago holding a holiday open house for my friends and neighbors. I also live near a senior center and many of the seniors who have no where to go usually come and celebrate.

My favorite CHRISTmas tradition is going to church on CHRISTmas Eve and watching the children presenting the story of the birth of JESUS. Then just thanking GOD for giving us JESUS. Just seeing the talent of the young children and their love of JESUS makes my CHRISTmas complete. Children are a gift from GOD that are the most precious gift anyone can receive—-whether biological or adopted or enjoyed. And I love to sew and knit and embroider for these kids—-boys AND girls.
My favorite Christmas tradition…my goodness! It has to be Christmas music…not the “jingle bells “ kind so much but the more traditional, religious, pieces such as “Handel’s Messiah, O Holy Night, Ave Maria, Silent Night, Joy to the World” and of course, “Away in a Manger.” I have so many memories of singing in school and in church as a younger me and then of my 3 daughters singing in church and school musicals, recitals, and concerts. Now I have 6 grandchildren who are all involved in music both in school, church, recitals and homeschool! It seems that anyone who has been involved in music during this time of year has also been awestruck by the wonders of this season ( the miraculous birth of Christ, the miracle of the lights in Hannukah, and miracles that happen in so many cultures and celebrations throughout our world!
I love Pixie Faire!

My favorite tradition is getting together with family
Oh my favorite Holiday Tradition is of course, being with family. We love having something special for breakfast, like homemade Stollen made the day before, and then spending the rest of Christmas Eve making wonderful finger foods for “grazing trays” for the rest of the afternoon. Then in the evening it’s time to get ready and dress for Christmas evening Mass, which is sooo special to have each of us in a pew together. Of course it means my D-I-L and I crying when “Silent Night” is sung. But then it’s hugging and laughter as we head back home in the snow. Once home it’s time to change into comfy clothes or jammies, sneak in some more goodies from the “grazing trays”, and gather around the Christmas tree to pass out gifts to each other. Then the difficult task to get the granddaughter off to bed to wait for Santa’s arrival. One by one we each begin heading off to bed to wait for Santa’s arrival. Ahhh, Merry Christmas to Everyone and a Wonderful New Year too. And thank you Pixie Faire Crew for all you do for us. xoxo
