About Our Generation®
Our Generation® dolls are made by Battat, a family-run toy business who designs the dolls and accessories in the U.S. and Canada, and manufactures them in China. Our Generation® dolls are affordable, are packaged with recycled and recyclable materials, and prioritize high standards of employee health and safety throughout their manufacturing process. You may have seen them on the shelves of your local Target store, which is their largest brick-and-mortar retail supplier. While their dolls are a great affordable option comparable to an 18-inch American Girl® doll, they also offer a wide variety of accessories like doll-sized cars, scooters, and horses.
Our Generation® Doll Features
The Ultimate Pattern Collection for Our Generation® Dolls
Our Generation® dolls are very similar in size to other 18-inch dolls such as American Girl®, and the patterns in our 18-inch Doll Clothes collection are designed to fit them well. The pattern collection includes step-by-step instructions for making almost anything you can imagine for your 18-inch doll such as Our Generation®, from historical gowns to contemporary coats to sweet pajamas.
Get the Pattern: Ready to make a t-shirt for your Our Generation® doll? Our FREE trendy t-shirt pattern is for you. Have fun using a variety of knit fabrics or even your outgrown tees upcycled to make adorable doll clothes!
Our Generation® Measurements
Our Generation® dolls are 18-inches tall, making them comparable to American Girl® dolls. The two brands of dolls have very similar bodies, and are pictured above in 123 Mulberry Street Gotchies both made from the same size pattern in order to show the similarities and differences in their proportions. The side-by-side comparison demonstrates that the Our Generation® doll has slightly smaller shoulders than the AG doll, who has a bit broader shoulders. The American Girl® doll also has a slightly longer torso than the OG doll. These differences between the two dolls mean that while most patterns and clothes made to fit 18-inch dolls should fit both dolls well, some slight adjustments may need to be made around the bodice of tailored garments to be sure that pieces fit the Our Generation® doll just right.

I really like Paloma
Malia is my doll. She’s beautiful and thinks she and rayna could be the greatest of friends. She would love to show her new poodle pup off to rayna and would gladly help out at Rayna’s grill truck. She thinks it would be fun. Besides, she needs Raynas help to name her new puppy.😏
Malia is so creative and inquisitive and wants to try every craft known to woman. ☺️She is currently learning to make clothes and would love to make an outfit for Rayna.
💕🍔🍟😋🐕🪡🧵👗💕
Love Coral. Freckles are the deal maker. It is hard ti find a doll with freckles.
I like Sarah! Like her Warm Brown Eyes and that She likes to Be Princess In The Our Generation Girl Doll Family, Just like Me. She Has Scared Personality from the other dolls she has already.
I just bought the April Our Generation doll for my granddaughter for Christmas… who is also ginger haired and wear glasses. Although my granddaughter’s eyes are brown. I don’t know if she’ll like it, but her mom is excited. I have three more grand daughters coming up who will need their own 18 dolls from grandma in the few years… I have one with soft brown curls, big brown eyes and light olive skin, the next one has white blond hair and light blue eyes and golden pale skin, and the newest one light brown skin, huge brown eyes, and wavy black hair. Any ideas about which dolls will work best for these three? (assuming their moms want them to have a doll that looks a bit like them that they can dress the same as)

This is very welcome for a Brit where AG dolls are hard to find. One missing measurement, although mentioned in the text is the difference in girth/body length.
Also, as I always seem to need to adjust the patterns for the best OG fit, it would be fantastic (especially for less experienced sewers) if you gave a brief summary of where and how much to trim as a rule of thumb. It’d be a great encouragement for OG sewers to buy more patterns too! :D
I love Meagann she is so cute!
But Leticia, Elliana and Melina have gorgeous faces.
I also like Tamaya a lot. Though I placed her mentally in Mongolia until a friend pointed out to me she had a face like an Inuit.
Maricela though would be my absolute favourite. She has my “niece’s” face to a T (apart from the colouring). It is uncanny.
I have Rose and I hate her, I late the og stuff, good American girl
I was going to purchase the American Dolls for my two adopted granddaughters but thought my grandson might like to play along. I am not willing to pay full price for the American Doll boy for my 4 year old grandson; is there a comparable male doll made in this collection? Thank you in advance.
I love April!! Long red hair, light green eyes, glasses. The cutest outfit! Brown skirt, dark pink knee highs, brown shoes, plaid blouse. So sweet! She’s my first. I bought her to try clothes I’m making, designing, for my granddaughters dolls. But I love having a doll! I have a Thumbelina from my childhood.
Got Willow for my daughter. She loves her!
Ayla is the favorite, like the Auburn hair
Adria, she reminds me of my daughter, with her blue glasses and freckles.
I like Paloma. She’s a vet & has brown hair.
Rayna is my favorite because her style is just like mine.
I have several OG dolls but I think Leticia is my current fav. I really like their diversity.
I like Florence best.
I like Paloma best because we love animals in this household!
I like Ameilia because she reminds of Penny from Inspector Gadget, who was way smarter then her uncle. It’s nice to see girl dolls who inspire younger girls to invent and discover new things! ♡
I love Sia and Sabina. The twins are great and even though they look the same have great different personalities.
Paloma is my favorite! I love these dolls that encourage girls to become caring women by playing with dolls who represent caring professions.
If my original post didn’t make it clear I can’t pick a favorite. Deandrea is my newest one.
I have several our Generation dolls. They are easy to work with and all of them are cute even the boys.
Hard to choose. I narrowed it down to Rayna and Joy. I chose Joy, as that is my Mom’s name, and my sister has red hair.
Rayna is my favorite. I like the idea of a poseable doll and I like her accessories. Thanks for the opportunity!
My favorite is Tamaya. I was excited when she came out to see a Native American doll, which is not often represented in the 18" dolls.
I like Reyna. She looks like my type of person.
i like amelia and she neat
I love these dolls. They have cute outfits and they’re cheaper than AG.
Florence. She reminds me of my granddaughter
Such beautiful dolls! My fav has to be Joy and Amelia. Amelia is my daughters name. She would love those dolls.
I love the Paloma doll as I would make clothes for her and donate her to a child that has no toys for Christmas and she is likely to look more like those little girls. Thank you for this special site. I have bought many patterns and lived all I have made and donated
My favorite is the ballerina Violet Anna. She has been living a my house for several months now and is my model for the clothes I am sewing, knitting, and crocheting for my cousin’s granddaughter who received an OG doll for Christmas.
I love the Florence doll because of her adorable curly hair.
I like Rayna because the food truck theme is fun.
Joy is my favorite Reminds me of getting ready for church when I was growing up
I like Gabe best at the moment, because I’d like another boy doll for the collection—but my preferences change constantly as the new ones come out! The newer faces (especially their mouths) are so much prettier than the older dolls’. I have always loved all the great OG play sets, accessories, & outfits, but the earlier dolls faces themselves were not nearly as appealing as many other 18" doll brands.
I like Rayna. I like that she is poseable.
I like the idea of the poseable dolls. Rayna is very sweet.
Florence is my favorite — she looks just like my niece Katie.
I like both of the posable dolls because they are not only cute but different because they are posable. All the doll’s are cute but the posable are unique. Thanks for offering this contest.

I like Terry because she looks like me at her age. Also, she plays the piano and is from my era. She is just perfect.
Ayla is my favorite. She is beautiful.
Paloma because she is a vet and my granddaughter love animal! Thank you Liberty Jane Clothing and Pixie Faire
I like most of the dolls but I chose Ayla for one of my granddaughters that has red hair and is an artiest.
my favorite is Rayn so cute
I think Ayla is very pretty :)
I like
I choose Alya with her long brown hair and blue eyes. She is a cute little modern girl.
Love the Rayna doll as she is so hard working and very pretty, too! I enjoy showing my grand daughter, Liara, that even girls can grow up to have good jobs or educations to be very productive. thank you, Deb.
I like Joy. Love her outfit!
I like Joy…reminds me of “old times”. Thank you for this give-away.
Do I have to have a favorite? I like them all. They each have their own characteristics that I like. I like Rayna for her long brown hair and er brown eyes.

They are all cute, but I love Paloma’s hair and complexion. She reminds me of my daughter.
I like Terri the best because if her beautiful blonde hair!
They are all so precious, it is a difficult decision. I would like any of them but If I had a choice I would choose Ayla or Paloma. Thank you for your generosity. God bless you.
I like Florence the best. The color of her hair and the curls! She is a very cute doll, something just a little bit different.
Paloma is my FAV!
Love the Our Generation dolls. They are all really cute and easy to sew for. Anyone of them would make a great friend to my 18 inch dolls. The boy dolls are cute too.
Paloma is my favorite because she looks like the all-American girl in her shirt and with her freckles.
I’m going to go with Rayna, she kind of reminds me of my granddaughter.
I love her name: Rayna ! She is an entreprenaur…owning her own food truck! And was even viewed in, a Foodie’s book ….I like this little lady a lot !! Thankyou Pixie Faire ☘
My favorite Our Generation doll isn’t listed here, but my favorite is April because she has the same name and hair color as my mom and her outfit is like something my mom would wear. The only real difference is her eye color, but I thought it was pretty cool to find a doll version of my mother, lol. I haven’t bought her yet though.
I like Paloma, she has gorgeous hair and a fun job.
I like Paloma, she reminds me of my wonderful Aunts.
Terry is my favorite—reminds me of myself in the ’50s.
Rayna is a beautiful doll, she would be my choice.
Our granddaughters love these dolls! Wish they had been around when I was young! Love Rayna’s dark, wavy hair.
I like Joy – she seems to personify her name and I think she is very cute!
I like Paloma with her dark curly hair and sweet face
I like Ayla just because I to would like to become a great painter. I also like her Auburn hair as it reminds me of my sons hair color.
I like Joy because of her red hair but Rayna is a beauty, too!

So many to choose from. My favorite is Ayla. Love the auburn hair and blue eyes.
Thanks!
I teach a sewing 18" doll clothes class for kids, it would be great to have another “model” for fittings.
I really like the Paloma doll. Love the layered and curly dark hair!
Always a difficult decision, this time Raylan caught my eye right away. Thank you for these give aways, and new designs. Such a fun career.
I love red hair so Joy is my favorite. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love Terry, she reminds me of my little granddaughter.
she would really love her.
I love the Joy doll…can’t resist a red head.
Rayna has to be the doll of choice for my Granddaughter and me. A Small Business venture is a very current matter in the news lately, and a doll working on her own Food Truck is a right on point (besides her being very cute).

Love the idea of poseable limbs. sometimes it is hard to get the dolls arms into an outfit.

What a collection of dolls! it is hard to make a choice.
I really like Rayna. I have brown eyes and brown hair and everyone in my family is blonde. I think Rayna is a good example for young girls.
I think that they are all so cute but I love Terry’s blond hair and blue eyes. Thank you so much for the great giveaways.
We love Kendra. She, too, is a redhead with blue eyes. We would love to add Rayna to our collection. So much fun to sew for.
My favorite OG Doll is a tie between OG Tyler and OG Gabe.
I love Rayna because that’s the doll my great granddaughter has and she looks so cute in all the clothes I make for her.

I just rescued I believe Rayna doll from Salvation Army and she is just beautiful. My goal now is to make her some clothes so she is ready to be adopted next Christmas. I have rescued several dolls before and just donated 2 Joy dolls to the local food pantry for adoption this year. I have several that have issues with tangled hair that I am still trying to fix. If anyone has any suggestions on how to untangle and get the shine back please advise.
