One of my most favorite cookie recipes is Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies. They are a simple flour cookie with a yummy raspberry center. I’ve never seen anything quite like them offered by doll companies, so I decided to make my own! They are another easy craft, but very good looking when done. I made some extras this year for my dolls’ Valentine’s Day party! And as a surprise bonus after the tutorial, I’ve given you my recipe to make your own edible cookies for people!
But first! This week we have a super fun GIVEAWAY for a $50 Pixie Fiare gift card! Scroll down to the bottom of the post to see how to enter today!
Supplies:
Step 1: I began by mixing two parts white clay with one part light brown clay to get my desired color. If you can find a color that doesn’t need mixing go ahead and just use that. Either way, go ahead and knead the clay a bit so that it is soft and easy to shape.
Step 2: Now you are going to separate your clay into little balls. Mine were about half an inch to ¾ inch big or so. It really doesn’t have to be exact. Roll your clay in your hands to make a nice smooth round shape.
Step 3: Now you are going to make the thumbprint part! If you have a child helping you, it would be totally fun to get her doll and use the doll’s thumb to make an imprint in the cookie. I ended up using my pinkie finger as this is a bit quicker, and it does make a nice well shape in the clay.
Step 4: Arrange your “cookies” on your cookie sheet lined in aluminum foil, and bake according to the clay’s package instructions.
Step 5: After your cookies are baked and cooled completely, we are going to paint the inside of the cookie wells with the raspberry colored craft paint. I always dip my brush in water first, then dab on a paper towel when using acrylic craft paints. They are so much easier to paint with when you do this! After the first coat dried completely, I did a second coat of my raspberry colored paint.
Step 6: Once the raspberry paint has dried completely, we are going to paint on our sugar glaze drizzle. I used the white paint and dipped my thinnest brush in the water again before I painted. I did a simple back and forth design, but you could also do a crosshatch design, or even no glaze at all! I like how the cookies look all three ways. Have fun with it!
Once the paint is completely dry, you can serve them to your dolls during your Valentine’s Day party! (My dolls like these as an everyday snack as well. ☺ )

Want to make some real Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies to really eat? Here is my favorite recipe:
Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies (for humans)
Ingredients:
Step 1: Turn oven on to 350°F
Step 2: Spoon jelly into a small bowl and stir until smooth. Set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, using a wooden spoon, blend together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and blend until a dough is formed.
Step 5: Pinch off bits of dough and roll into 1 inch balls. Put on a baking sheet 1 inch apart. Press finger or thumb into dough to make a little “well”. Fill each well with ¼ tsp. jelly.
Step 6: Bake about 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool. Jelly will be very hot. Cool completely before serving or adding glaze.
Step 7: Mix the powdered sugar with enough milk to make a drizzle consistency. Add a few drops vanilla if you like. Then drizzle on your cookies!

Candy!
Flowers,maybe.
Candy.
Candy and flowers!
Candy!
Flowers for me please…the beauty of nature
Flowers, I think, but the suggestion of flower shaped candy is wonderful!
I can’t choose as I love them both! Flowers are so beautiful but candy is so yummy!
I’m going to say that candy is better than flowers. While flowers are beautiful (and fun to make out of ribbons or felt), I’m not a fan of flowery perfumes, so most real flowers are too overpowering for me and give me headaches. Candy, on the other hand, always brings me happiness because it’s delicious and I can share it with my loved ones.
Chocolate PLEASE
I love flowers! They last longer for me than candy…
My favorite cookie is peanutbutter blossoms.
Choice between flowers and Candy.. Since I’m allergic to most flowers. Chocolates are great!
I think this is so great to make cookies for the dolls to bake. Adorable. For me, I love chocolates and flowers so this is a hard decision to make but I think I’d go for the flowers. They last longer. I’d have the candy gone very quickly but the flowers I’d get to enjoy for longer.
Hard choice. I choose flowers – I guess since I don’t get them very often I think a gift of flowers is special and romantic.
I prefer the flowers, they remind me that spring is coming.
I just love this idea. I am going to be with my Grand-children this weekend and this looks like a great project to do with them. Cookies for a display and cookies for eating. A perfect combination!
I love both but I think I would choose candy over flowers.
Flowers because they lift my spirits.
Flowers! I love a bouquet of carnations. They last for weeks and make me smile. 😊
Flowers! They aren’t fattening and you can press flowers or dry them out for a potpourri.
I think flowers the person may not like candy and flowers would seem sweeter tome if I liked the person.
Candy! Well, more specifically, chocolate. Flowers make me sneeze, but chocolate is delicious!
mmmm I do have a sweet tooth but on a diet. I;’ll go with flowers.
I like flowers because this time of year we don’t see too many usually.
I prefer flowers if they are alive, not cut flowers. Then I would prefer the candy.
I believe candy is better because you get to taste it. Flowers only last a couple of days. Thank you Cinnamon for the awesome giveaways.😘
Candy for sure — dark chocolate the best!
Candy…….I have a very sweet tooth!
I prefer a plant that has a few added sprigs of fresh flowers. That way the plant still lives long after the occasion and brings back fond memories every time you look at/water them.
I prefer flowers.
Wow, that’s a tough choice! I love both! I would be delighted with either. If forced to choose maybe some special salted caramel chocolates or Almond Roca!
Depends if you’re hungry!!
I prefer flowers!
Flowers because I need to lose the weight I have recently gained.
I prefer flowers!
Candy. (I prefer living plants to cut flowers.)
Candy. (I prefer living plants to cut flowers.)
Thank you!
I love live flowers for Valentines Day! A perennial I can plant outside and enjoy all spring and summer.
Flowers, visually they brighten a room and don’t disappear when shared.
My vote is flowers… or cookies, not so much candy:)
Flowers, but only if they’re live! One does not simply give cut flowers to a horticulturalist.
I think flowers are the best gift because of the wow factor when you first see them. They are always so colorful and beautiful as to make a wonderful surprise :)
Chocolate candy is always enjoyable, but it is nice to get flowers every now and then.
Chocolates, chocolates shaped like flowers even better!
Since I am allergic to chocolate and flowers die, my favorite would be bulbs or seeds that I can plant when the weather is nicer and we can enjoy them all the time.
Love chocolate and flowers. Would really like a plant.
Flowers!! Perennials are my favorite choice.
Chocolate hearts in a heart shaped box is always my favourite.
Candy and lots of it please
FLOWERS ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT CANDY IS FOOD FOR THE SOUL!
Flowers! Preferably some I can plant in my yard!
Flowers!
I prefer flowers over candy! My favorite flowers are Peonies and tulips!
Definitely candy! I am very allergic to flowers so my husband knows that flowers aren’t something I’d want.
Why not both – Candy flowers😍
chocolate chip
I prefer flowers – do not have a sweet tooth!
allergic to flowers, so definitely candy!
choc. chip or heart shaped sugar cookies
I like flowers I can plant outside. Otherwise dark chocolate.
i would personally be happy with both
flowers are the best i love them
Flowers are one of God’s most beautiful creations and they always put a smile on my face especially when my husband gives me flowers, almost every time he goes to the store.
I would be happy with either…..Just being someone’s Valentine would be great….You all enjoy!
I think I like candy best.
Flowers, red carnations.
Flowers. I love carnations. Never candy for Valentine’s Day as that usually involves chocolate and I hate chocolate.
I love pink roses for Valentines Day!
Flowers are the best. They remind me of Spring and Summer and right now we are in Winter and having a major snow storm, so flowers would be most welcome! But who could refuse chocolate? Yummy!
I go for candy! I love flowers but my cat always knocks over the vase!
Flowers wilt but candy lasts forever on the hips.
Flowers wilt but candy lasts forever on the hips.
I love them both! I would have to choose I would pick flowers I guess. They are nice and cheery!
Flowers. I can enjoy them for a week, then pitch them. Candy stays with me forever (on my thighs).
I think chocolate is better!
CHOCOLATE
I love both, but absolutely prefer getting flowers. To me that means a lot more thought went into the gift.
I like candy better (or the Best!). But flowers are more healthy and cheerful. I’ll take either!
I think flowers are better.
I prefer flowers to candy I`m not a fan of candy hope that doesn`t sound too strange!
I love candy! My first job was at a Mrs. Stovers, a store that sold handpicked and packed Russell Stovers candy at a mall. Yum! I still love their chocolate!
Both are great!
My diet says flowers, but I say chocolat covered cherrries. I have no control—I wold probably eat half the box right away! LOL
Flowers! Lovely to look at and smell! Plus, no calories! Thanks for the giveaway chance!
I like flowers, but usually my flowers come with chocolates!
I like flowers, but usually my flowers come with chocolates!
Flowers of course! No cavities!
CANDY
Candy! I can make that last to St Patty’s Day! Those raspberry cookies are darling!
Flowers! They can be enjoyed longer than cookies that are gone in a flash (& move to the hips as well)!
Candy, or even cookies are best and they are home made which always means more to me than store bought. Flowers always fade too soon.
I really can’t decide!!!
I prefer candies, chocolate as well as homemade cookies.
Dark chocolate covered cherries!
My waistline also prefers flowers. The kind you plant are best, as they come back and keep giving. But chocolate is always desired.
Definitely candy! Of course, Candy is my name too, so I’m likely biased 😊
