1930s Coat Set 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

9 reviews   |

This set by Dollhouse Designs was inspired by the very stylish coats worn in the 1930s. From the princess seaming, or fit-and-flare, silhouette to the double-breasted front opening, this tailored dress coat is genuine in design. Longer than most coats today, it kept girls in dainty dresses warmer. Fur trim was very popular as well as practical. Of course, many different fabrics may be used for the collar & cuffs.

Whichever light to medium weight fabric you choose, this design is sure to please.  Make it up in various fabrics and trims and watch how many admiring looks your 18” girl will receive. The tailored details make this an intermediate skill pattern. Clear instruction & images guide you through each step. The coat is fully lined.

lovely design 30s coat

i found this a bit difficult. I did not understand the collar/lining instructions at all and in the end i decided to "wing it". I abandoned the machine and did much of the sewing by hand. Ended up looking ok. Though next time i shall add 1/4" to pieces as the coat is a bit snug over some clothes. love the design though

Love The coat!

I have made this coat three times! It is advanced, but so worth the effort.

Awesome coat

I love this coat! It is so cute. It’s the first outerwear I’ve tried and it turned out pretty well.

There were a couple things that were not clear on the pattern but the designer is going to correct them.
