This historical girls dress was created from an original 1920s design.
It features a decorative panel that runs down the center front into a wide waistband at right angles. The panel can be left plain or embroidered for a more personal touch. Two embroidery designs, based on original designs from the 1920s, are included with the pattern. A narrow ribbon piping around the panel frames the embroidery beautifully.
The inset bodice sections have a set of three tucks in the front and are lightly gathered into the waistband. The neckline is finished with a Peter Pan collar and the cuffs on the short sleeves echo the lines of the decorative panel. Both the collar and the cuffs can be embroidered to match the decorative panel, if desired.
A short knee-length skirt with pleats that mirror the tucks in the bodice completes the dress. The dress opens fully in the back and fastens with four buttons along the bodice and skirting and a snap at the waistband. Snaps or hook-and-loop tape can be used, if preferred.
Be sure to complete the look with the Mary Brooks Cloche, available separately.
