If you ever wanted to try your hand at making shoes for your doll, this is the pattern for you. It's a great beginner pattern by Love U Bunches. Minimal sewing, a little bit of glue, really cute shoes! It's also a great way to use up scraps from your stash. It only takes a little bit of fabric to make an awesome pair of shoes. And NO hot glue! You can make shoes to match every outfit! Your doll is going to need a bigger closet!

An Easy Straw Shoe Horn Tutorial is also included as a bonus with this pattern.

This PDF pattern is designed to fit 15" Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls.

This adorable shoe pattern is also available sized to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®, A Girl For All Time®, Kidz N Cats®Journey Girls®, 14.5" dolls such as WellieWishers™, 13-14" Les Cheries and Hearts For Hearts Girls® dolls, and 9" Kruselings dolls. 

Recommended Fabrics:  light weight cotton fabric or light weight tightly woven fashion fabric

Supplies Needed:

  • Fabric: Light weight tightly woven fashion fabric such as a light weight quilting fabric. Medium to thick fabric may be too bulky for your tiny doll.
  • Shoe Upper: 9” x 4” piece of fabric Lining: 9” x 4” piece of fabric Insole: 3.5” x 3.5” piece of fabric
  • Matching sewing thread Sewing needle
  • Insoles: 3.5” x 3.5” piece of medium weight cardboard or chipboard
  • Soles: 3.5” x 3.5” piece of 2 mm craft foam
  • Liquid glue: Thick, fast-drying glue such as Aleene's® Super Thick Tacky Glue Fabric Glue Stick: Washable fabric glue stick such as Elmer’s Glue® Stick
  • Marking tools: Fine point disappearing ink or water soluble fabric pen

Optional:

  • Small piece of fine sandpaper or nail file to smooth foam edges
  • Nylon jaw pliers to press seams flat

  • Clothes pins or office clamps to hold shoe while glue is drying
  • Coffee filter to add traction for stitching small pieces
  • Small section of clear plastic wrap or blue painter’s tape to wrap doll’s ankle
  • Wooden spoon to use as pressing tool

  • Embellishments: Bows, beads, trim, narrow cording, elastic
