If you ever wanted to try your hand at making shoes for your Journey Girls® doll, this is the pattern for you. It's a great beginner pattern by Love U Bunches. Minimal sewing, a little bit of glue, really cute shoes! It's also a great way to use up scraps from your stash. It only takes a little bit of fabric to make an awesome pair of shoes. And NO hot glue!
You can make shoes to match every outfit! Your doll is going to need a bigger closet!
This PDF pattern is also available to fit American Girl, A Girl For All Time, and Kidz N Cats dolls.
Special Note - This pattern is designed to fit a Journey Girls Doll specifically and will not fit the standard 18 inch doll such as American Girl Doll. A Journey Girls doll is 18 inches tall but has a much slimmer body.
Recommended Fabrics: Tightly woven fashion fabric, quilting fabric, satin
Supplies Needed:
-Fabric for shoe top: 10" x 5" light weight tightly woven fabric (From your stash: 5" x 5" square for each shoe)
-Fabric for shoe lining: 10" x 5" light weight tightly woven fabric (From your stash: 5" x 5" square for each shoe)
-Matching sewing thread
-Thick craft fusible interfacing: 4" x 3.5" piece
(Pellon® Peltex 71F single-sided fusible ultra firm stabilizer). Optional: instead of interfacing, use cardboard and glue
-2 mm craft foam: 4" x 3.5" section
-Aleene's Super Thick Tacky Glue or Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Optional: Fabric glue stick
-Marking tools:
Fine point disappearing ink or water soluble fabric pen
Fine point chalk marker for dark fabrics
Pencil
-Embellishments: Bows, beads, trim, narrow cording
-Optional: Small piece of coarse sandpaper or
nail file to smooth foam edges
