Later in her life, she began recording these memories in her classic “Little House on the Prairie” books, preserving a first hand account of those significant years in American History. The “Mary and Laura” dresses by Thimbles and Acorns are a reproduction of the dresses the girls wore in a picture taken around 1880, the year recorded so vividly in her book “The Long Winter”.

Handkerchief ~ 4-inch (10.25 cm) square.
Notions:
Thread, 2/3 yard 1/2-inch (12 mm) wide flat lace, 1/2 yard 1/4-inch (6 mm) wide ribbon, small decorative button to secure the ribbon at the front neckline, six 3/8-inch (9 mm) flat buttons for the back closures on the dress and underskirt (small snaps or
hook and loop tape can be used if preferred).
