More About Genine Allan and Genniewren Designs, (in her own words):
Hi, I’m Genine, from Genniewren Designs. I’ve been working with Pixie Faire for two and a half years now, and it has been a fantastic way for me to share my love of sewing for dolls with so many people all around the world. I've always had a passion for needlecrafts and actually started sewing before I started school. I even learned to smock as a child, serving my apprenticeship by picking up the dots (by hand) for my mother’s smocking projects. In my 20s and early 30s, I made many one-of-a-kind wearable quilted jackets, bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, first communion and confirmation dresses. The special occasion dresses gave me insight into several couture techniques and from there I graduated to corset-making too. Over the years I’ve designed and published knitting patterns, embroidery designs, and soft toy patterns including traditional-style teddy bears, but my favorite kind of sewing is still designing clothes for dolls. Nowadays I have dolls of all sizes from different countries to design for. Thanks to the kindness of friends across the globe, my most recent acquisitions are a WellieWishers™ doll and a Little Darling® doll and I’m looking forward to creating some unique designs for them both. Never forget that dolls are for grown-ups too!

More About The Patterns:
The Anneke Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Anneke dress is a sweet Euro Style inspired country-style dress for 18 inch dolls such as American Girl®. View A has a tiered ruffle edged skirt, Peter Pan collar and puffed sleeves. View B is a shirt style dress with a straight skirt and straight short sleeves edged with ruffles. Both views are below the knee and have optional waist ties and casings. There is a choice of a placket opening in the center front or a mock placket if preferred. The waist ties can be replaced with toning or contrasting ribbons if desired. The dresses fasten in the back with Velcro strips or snaps/buttons. This PDF pattern is ideal for using up scraps to mix and match fabrics to make it Euro style. In particular View A offers a great opportunity to use plenty of trimmings between the tiers and ruffles. Recommended Fabrics: Soft drape woven fabrics e.g. cotton lawn, batiste, dotted Swiss, poplin, chambray, calico or polycotton.
The Jessica Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Jessica dress is a round yoke dress with elbow length puffed sleeves and a hem band. The dress fastens at the center back yoke and the PDF pattern includes instructions for buttons, snaps or Velcro® fastenings. View A has a plain or piped yoke. Instructions are included for using piping. View B has a ruffled yoke. Instructions are given for making the ruffle from fabric, but you could use eyelet or lace trim if preferred. While traditional in style, the Jessica dress is very versatile and a modern look can be achieved by using contrast fabric for the yoke, cuffs and hem band.. An optional tie belt changes the look of the dress completely. The tie belt could also be used as a hair band for a more modern look. When made in lightweight fabrics like lawn or batiste, this dress can become a perfect heirloom style summer dress, particularly if you add a lace edged ruffle instead of the hem band. Use lace for the yoke ruffle and add some pretty embroidery to the yoke and cuffs to complete the Edwardian summer look. Recommended Fabrics: Quilter's cotton, cotton poplin, polycotton, lawn, batiste.
The Sorrell Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Sorrell dress PDF sewing pattern designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl®, will help you create a fabulous modern style dress that every girl will love. The unlined dropped waist dress with bound neckline has a choice of sleeveless or straight short sleeves, with two skirt options - a single layer skirt and a flared overskirt. A sewn in “belt” of bias fabric can be used to add a touch of flair to the dress, and instructions are given for making a rosette to add further interest to the dress. There is plenty of room on the bodice to add machine embroidery or other embellishments, should you so wish. Mix and match toning or contrasting fabrics to Euro-style this gorgeous little dress. The only limit is your own creativity! Recommended Fabrics: Suitable for woven fabrics e.g. dress weight cotton, lawn, quilting cottons, chambray, batiste, viscose, taffeta, satin.
The Fleur Spring Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Fleur PDF pattern is a pretty dress that’s the perfect choice for Spring, Summer or Easter! The below the knee princess line dress has stylish contrast inserts that add fullness and flare to the skirt. Sweet little bows hide waistline pleats. The dress fastens in the back with Velcro or snaps. There are three options – View A has a split sleeve with contrast insert and contrast cuffs. View B is sleeveless with contrast binding to the armholes. View C has a full puffed sleeve with a contrast cuff which is trimmed with an optional bow that matches the waist bows. All views have a neckline finished with contrast binding. Recommended Fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics, e.g. lawn, quilters’ cottons, poplin, polycotton blends. It is also suitable for lightweight specialist fabrics such as silk dupioni, satin or taffeta if you wish to make a more formal garment.

My two favorites are the Fluer and the Anneke but they are all sweet. Thanks so much for your generosity!
Hallo Genine Allan,
lieben Dank für die wunderschönen Schnittmuster dieser Kleidchen, sie sind alle so schön, dass die Entscheidung für eins sehr schwer fällt…
Thank you so much Genine, I’ve voted for the lovely Sorrell pattern.
I voted for Jessica because the red and white sample is a mini version of a muu muu I made in junior high while living in New Orleans. Mine was ankle length and the sleeves didn’t have a band, but elastic to create a ruffle-effect. I made it in a Hawaiian-style print. I still have the pattern. So comfortable in the warm Southern weather. Genine, I love your photo and fabulous smile! Happy to meet you! Thank you for the pattern!
je vote pour fleur Spring Dree une petite robe ravissante et très joyeuse
bravo et merci
bonne journée paulette
Thanks so much for the free pattern, the Sorrel dress gets my vote.

Another exciting pattern vote – thank you so much Genine! The Country Style dress is so very feminine, and the Fleur dress is just as pretty! They’re both generous patterns with several different styles to make them, but there is something so interesting about Fleur that catches my attention and I’d like to try it.
Love the Anneke country style dress. Thanks for the wonderful patterns.
Thank you! I voted the Sorrell – I have just the fabric for it.
