Free Doll Clothes Pattern Friday September 29th, Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

On Friday (September 29, 2017) we'll have one of the following four doll clothes patterns available for free. This week we're featuring the inspiring work of Marilyn Clarkin and her brand QTπ Doll Clothing

More About Marilyn In Her Own Words: I am happily married to my wonderful husband Richard and we are blessed with three beautiful daughters. My professional background is in children’s ministries, but I have enjoyed sewing for over 20 years. Throughout the years I have sewn for local dance schools and theatres groups. With three daughter I have sewn my fair share little girls clothes. In spring 2013 my love for sewing doll clothes began and in March 2014, I started designing patterns for 18” dolls such as American Girl® and Maplelea®. I enjoy designing and creating modern everyday clothing and shoes. I love keeping up with current fashion and recreating it.

Help us decide which one of Marilyn's patterns should be free by voting below. Then come back on Friday to see which pattern won and get the free download.

More About Each Pattern:

Fooling Around Fooler Pattern For 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This fooler will have them fooled. It is perfect for dressing up your doll's wardrobe without adding bulk. This PDF pattern features four different collars:  stand up, Mandarin, Peter Pan, simplified collar and a reversible option. Recommended Fabrics: any light or medium weight woven fabric such as cotton, silk, denim, corduroy or broadcloth. Not suitable for knits or obvious one way patterns.

The Poncho Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls: Your doll will be comfy and cozy in this fun poncho! This PDF sewing  pattern includes two variations: cowl neck and split neck and can be made with a variety of knit fabrics. Recommended Fabrics:  Lightweight or medium weight sweater knits, medium weight jersey knit, and micro fleece. Up-Cycling sweaters is a great source of fabric.

Moccasins Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl: Your 18" doll will be right on trend with these fashion forward fun moccasins. They feature a fun fringe and a front tie and are perfect for that boho chic look or even with some comfy pj's. There are also two styles of sole options included in this PDF pattern. Sole style one is compatible with any of the Pixie Pack Shape One soles.  (WhiteBlackColor 1 , Color 2, or Black Chipboard). Sole style two** is for compatible with shape 4. You may also choose to cut your own soles as well. Recommended Fabrics:  Choose upholstery faux suede fabrics that are light-medium weight for the moccasin uppers. Suede with a weave or fabric backing is recommended to avoid dye transfer. You may choose to use light weight fusible interfacing to WRONG side of suede if it does not have a backing . If using vinyl for upper the Vinyl/Alternate option is highly suggest because the original sole will not lie flat due to the extra bulk from the vinyl.

The Perfectly Pleated Pants Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American girl: Your doll will look fabulous in this fun and trendy pant design! They feature three front pleats, working front and back pockets, and optional belt loops. The PDF pattern includes two options for front pockets, three hemming options and a simplified no pocket option. Recommended Fabrics:  light or medium weight stretch or regular denim, stretch satin cotton, light or medium weight stretch or regular twill, or regular fine corduroy.

I tried to vote last night just before I went to bed. The vote was already closed yet there was still plenty of time to vote… would have really loved the moccasins as my doll has no shoes at the moment. That was the first time I was unable to vote and I’m sad I couldn’t. Don’t get me wrong… the poncho is very nice (all the patterns are, really), but would have liked to been able to add my vote/say in too.

So disappointed that the poll closed so early. I would have voted for the moccasins. The poncho is cute but I was hoping to get the moccasins. Thank you.

Feeling sad. This is either the third or fourth week in a row that I can’t vote. I’ve tried all day from multiple devices; but all I see are the results — no opportunity to vote. Also, I no longer am receiving the notice on Facebook with a direct link to the vote. There’s definitely a system error here. If the system was working, I’d vote for the moccasins. It looks like the poncho is going to be the winner. It’s really cute too. Can’t complain when all of your designs are so great, and you are offering us a free pattern. But tge voting was a fun feature. Thanks for contributing to Freebie Friday. Much appreciated.

Now this is so difficult . . . the choices are so diversified and incredibly cute. Funny, my age may be showing but I wore each of these at different times as they were first in style. I actually had clothes that a “Fooler” aka “Dickie” snapped or buttoned onto. The pleated pants – the 80s. The moccasins – all thru high school (early 70s). Poncho: late 60s, early 70s. It’s all back! I’m going to go with the Pleated Pants but honestly it is only because my granddaughter wants a pair for herself. What fun! Thanks!
