Free Doll Clothes Pattern (December 18th, 2018) Help Us Decide!

Hi everyone,

On Friday (December 21st) we'll have a free pattern available from Amy Walker, the creative designer of the Seams to Streams pattern brand. Help us decide which pattern should be free and be sure to come back on Friday to download your free copy!

More About Amy In Her Own Words: "I began learning to sew and design unique baby and teething products in response to a call to mission when my now 7 and 9 year old children were babies, and eventually had the opportunity to sell my designs in a couple of local shops. Demand for doll clothing in one of those shops led me to discover the world of doll clothing. I soon realized that doll clothing was a fun and affordable way to learn garment sewing skills and hone my overall sewing skills while fulfilling my mission. Finding motivation and enjoyment in the creative process and in sewing my own designs, I participated in Liberty Jane's Design and Pattern Academies and was excited to find myself quickly designing and creating my own doll patterns. I work as a team with my husband, Tom, who takes care of the technical side of Seams to Streams’ patterns. My long term vision extends to teaching others to sew, and has begun to unfold as I conducted my first sewing class for children in 2018 and have plans to teach another one in the coming year."

More About Each Pattern:

Halter My Opinion Dress Or Top Designed To Fit 18" Dolls Such As American Girl®:  The Halter My Opinion Dress or Top puts a whole new angle on fashion! This fun and versatile pattern gets right to the point, literally. Enjoy mixing and matching with different
prints and colors while sharpening your skills on an angled seam! With options for knit or woven fabric and a dress or a top, there is endless sewing and fashion fun for you and your doll. With its hook and loop closure and neck strap with keyhole style opening in the back, style is not sacrificed for ease while putting it on and taking it off. The lined bodice
makes the v-shaped keyhole and arm openings clean and neat, giving this dress and top a simple, modern look. Halter My Opinion, in my opinion, is the perfect, cool, wardrobe item to beat the summer heat!

A Crinkle In Time Tunic Designed to Fit 18" Dolls Such As American Girl®:  This is one project you will not have to iron all the kinks out of! Designed for woven fabrics, the A Crinkle In Time Tunic pattern features a gathered hourglass-shaped design element down the center front that flows into a square neckline to create a unique and appealing look. The bound armscyes and bottom edge give a sense of unity and repetition to the piece. While you will be leaving some wrinkles in, you will also learn a sure-fire way to create a crisp and clean square bias bound neckline. The A Crinkle In Time Tunic features a hook and loop closure, and is fully lined to keep those unsightly seams out of sight. I believe you will find the time spent on this pattern to be well spent, crinkles and all.

A Stitch In My Side Pocket Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such as American Girl®:  Get your stitch on with this fun kid-approved design that is enjoyable for both sewist and recipient. Pockets that pop make this dress fun for little ones and the piping and side panels provide plenty of color coordinating fun for the seamstress.
This pattern provides a tip for hemming over bulky seams and is a great simple introduction to using piping. If piping has intimidated you in the past, cut your teeth on this easy application of the skill.

Designed for woven fabrics, the A Stitch In My Side Pocket Dress features a bodice lining and hook and loop closure for the entire length of the back, making doll dressing and undressing a breeze for little hands.

Knot What I Expected Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This simple and easy-to-sew sleeveless dress pattern is designed for woven fabrics and features a lined bodice and hook and loop closure. You will tie this one up in a flash.

Things are not always as they appear – from the front, anyway! The solid contrasting color on the back of the dress may “knot” be what you’d expect, yet adds a harmony and cohesiveness to the design. In this pattern you will learn an easy way to sew a bodice lining with all seams enclosed, giving it a nice clean finish, inside and out! You will “knot” regret getting “tied up” in this easy, fun sewing pattern for your 18-inch doll!

The KNOT WHAT I EXPECTED DRESS is definitely unique. . It looks like a very beautiful
dress. You do have a knack especially with the titles of the patterns you make, not to mention the beauty of the completed pattern. Wonderful fingers!!!

Thanks for your generosity! I had a hard time choosing between A Crinkle in Time (awesome name, by the way) and the Knot What I Expected Dress but ended up choosing the latter as I think I would be more likely to actually make it and I always love new, fun and easy dress patterns, especially to dress my daughter’s impatient dolls!
