My biggest sewing challenge is taking on too much at a time. I have 5 people in my life with little ones so when i cut out a pattern i always make multiples………sometimes it gets a little overwhelming to stitch them all. it’s a like a factory. I still love making all the doll clothes though.

My biggest sewing and knitting problem is finding the time and space. I put off many projects until I retired and still do not have the time I thought came with retirement. Also, retirement brought health problems which slow me down. Although I’ve knitted for over 70 years, I’ve never learned to crochet and I need help to learn this new skill.

My biggest sewing, knitting, or crochet challenge is finding all these wonderful patterns! I find that I either purchase and/or print out patterns and I am at a point that I feel that I am hoarding more rather than producing any! I think I need to stay away from social media and just work with what I have as well as organizing my time also.

My greatest struggle in sewing is not knowing how to handle every new situation. I’d love to have the bow how to attack any kind of pattern…but I find myself staying away from soft flowy fabrics because I’m not sure how to handle them and don’t have a ton of resources to use up fabric. Maybe if I could sketch out a weekend and have a guide as to what to do with each one I might be able to handle it.

My biggest sewing challenge is to find enough space in my sewing room so I can continue to add to my fabric stash. A girl and her dolls can never have too many fabrics to choose from. Doll clothes are so much fun to sew but they never require enough material to burn through my stash. Once I sew an outfit, I find myself wanting to “create” with a different fabric instead of using up my scraps.

My biggest sewing, knitting, or crochet challenge is loving too many patterns, if you can call that a problem, but I have to make sure I do not getting ahead of myself. I do not know how to crochet and I wish I knew how to knit but I don’t. I took up sewing again, 4 years ago when my granddaughters (now our adopted daughter) therapist at Childrens Hospital used play therapy with American Girl Dolls. Due to the abuse she suffered I had to give up my full time employment and we became a one income family which meant we could not afford to buy real AG clothes let alone the dolls, so I went in search of an AG doll used in therapy and finally found one at a local Childrens resale store that I gave a baking soda wash to clean up, cut and curled the hair and she never realized it wasn’t brand new. I went to town sewing clothes and am now teaching her how to see the clothes. Just when I thought I had a handle on it, the therapist just introduced Logan as part of pay therapy. Unfortunately the know of brands for Logan look nothing like him and she is not relating to it, and the odds of finding Logan at a resale shop is zero, so we will have to save to buy him, but I am thrilled that I can start to buy your patterns to start making clothes for him. Thus my problem of getting ahead of myself because you offer such wonderful patterns!

My biggest sewing, knitting or crochet challenge is finishing large projects, I get half way through making something then get tired of it and want to do something different. I have to tell myself I need to finish this one first to motivate me to actually get it done, especially knitted sweaters where I have to sew the pieces together. So now I’ve started crocheting dishcloths whenever I get tired of knitting. This gives me something different to do and I can give them away.
