I’m going to tear everything out from our bedroom closet and go through it all, putting nothing back in except what we really wear! That will start my winter decluttering off right and hope to continue on till it’s all done by spring!
Have to do bedroom closet and pantry first—then going to do my craft and sewing room so I can work on lots of doll clothes for a few hours most days. We traditionally celebrate New Year’s Eve with our children and grandchildren at our house on rural Whidbey Island. We set off fireworks at midnight in our back field and drink some kind of bubbly.
We live in Oregon but celebrate NYC time! When our kids were little we wrote out predictions for the new year (Or drew them when they were really little.) We sealed them in an envelope and read them the next year – while predicting again!! doni @ Oregon coast

For New Years this year we will just be staying in and keeping warm. Hope to be able to sew and knit in the new year. Happy New Year.
New Year’s Eve spent with family and some good wine.
Especially making use of the many AG patterns I’ve collected for teaching granddaughter to sew, crochet, and Knit.
My New Years Plans include digging through family documents for the genealogy information and maybe finally getting around to cutting the fabric for my next sewing project
My New Years plan include,
Getting some theatre popcorn watching a movie, then the countdown on TV, singing Auld Lang Syne, and a kiss at midnight… open the back door and sweep out and say goodbye the old year…then open the front door to welcome in the New Year! The kids throw wheat around the house so that our family and friends who farm would have a prosperous year. We save our loose change all year then on New Years Day we will wash our hands with water, soap and coins to ensure you would always have some money throughout the year…then that money is divided amongst everyone.
Oh it is a good idea to finish up one project…even if it is a small one to go into the New Year with things finished up…so that is why a puzzle on Christmas is a good one to start so you can finish it before the next year, but this year I have a little dress to finish up…having trouble with a complicated sleeve so I’ve been putting it off.
Happy New Year!
It is -20 degrees here in SD today. I plan on staying in the house, having a glass of wine, finish crocheting a doll blanket and start sewing a winter coat for my granddaughter’s AG doll from a Pixie Faire pattern! Thank you and Happy New Year!
Making LOTS of doll clothes! I just got a new “boy” who came without any clothes….then I have 4 girls who love to get new out fits….and my granddaughter’s birthday is in April and she has 3 girls and 1 boy, all of whom love new outfits. I can’t wait to start sewing on New Years Day!!!!
My New Years plans include…tailoring my mess of doll patterns down to a chosen few so as to make it easier to find the pattern I want. That’s what I like about the Pixie Faire collections…the pattern options are precise and offer less options per pattern (I say this as a very good thing!!). Instead of whole wardrobes per pattern, resulting in repeats of a lot of things that I never use, with Pixie Faire patterns, I can tailor-make my wardrobe of basics and I can see all the variations people have made with each pattern. Still a lot of choices, but way more manageable and fun, which is what sewing should be.
My new Year’s plans include sleeping in and hopefully some sewing!
My plans for New Years Eve will be a relaxing afternoon with my husband, a nice dinner at home with sparkling white grape juice and an early bedtime!
