Welcome to Day 2 of our 12 Days Of Christmas celebration! Today we are giving away 2 tickets to the February 2018 Design Academy Class (valued at $79)! Yes, that's right - 2 Winners! We've just opened enrollment for the upcoming February 2018 session of this super fun, in-depth, online design course and wanted to kick it off with this fun giveaway opportunity!
Giveaway Update: Congratulations to Sally and Mary Kay! You've each won a ticket to the February Design Academy and have been contacted through email.
What's the Design Academy - you might ask... The Design Academy is our 12 part training program that gives you in-depth training on how to design high-quality clothing items specifically at the smaller doll scale. Cinnamon, the lead designer for Liberty Jane Clothing, has spent years perfecting the art of doll clothes design, focusing on an intense level of detail, and considers every piece created - a piece of art! The 140-page course ebook covers the 12 principles of design, most are a part of every design concept (proportion, scale, fabric, color, sewing technique, originality); while a few are meant as an extra element to specific designs (distressing/embellishments, minimalism, homage, repetition). Each chapter in the book is accompanied by a video where Cinnamon, Karin, and Melinda share their thoughts on the topic and encourage you to practice the element discussed through a hands-on homework assignment.
If you love to sew and really want to take your craft to the next level, this course is for you! Study the elements and learn to apply them to your work so that you can stand out in the crowd! We hope to see you there...
(Note - if you purchase the course and happen to be selected as one of the two winners, we'll be happy to credit your purchase or apply it to the March 2018 Pattern Academy!)
To enter the giveaway simply respond to this post and complete this sentence:
“I'd love to see Pixie Faire offer (what type of pattern) for (what doll type)“
Comments must be left (on this blog post) by midnight (Pacific), 12/26/2017.
One entry per person.
No purchase necessary, void where prohibited. Must be 18 or older to enter. While we wish we could run this contest everywhere, for legal reasons it is only open to eligible residents of the U.S. and Canada, not including Rhode Island. This contest is exclusively endorsed by Liberty Jane Clothing and Pixie Faire.
The winner will be chosen randomly from the comments received and contacted through the email provided in the comment.
We will choose a winner and update this post tomorrow to let everyone know who won.
Okay, good luck, and if we’ve forgotten anything we will modify and/or update this post as needed.
Happy New Year!
Cinnamon & The Liberty Jane / Pixie Faire Team
I would like to see Pixie Faire offer more boy doll patterns. I have an Animator doll (Kristoff) that would be fun to dress up. Beginning doll sewing would be a fun category, too. My daughter would love to sew for her dolls.
My granddaughters can’t get enough fancy gowns and party dresses for their American Girl dolls, so new designs are always welcome.
I would love to see Pixie Faire offer more period correct outfits for historical dolls, especially the early 1900’s. Thank you for all you do!
I would love to see winter active wear for 18" dolls (AG and OG) Maybe a two piece ski outfit. My granddaughter says a pattern to make a dog and cat for the OG dolls. Thank you for the great pattern and selection you have for these dolls!

I would love to see casual clothing items for the 23 inch My Twinn dolls
Since I rarely do a pattern just like it’s designed, I would like to see patterns for the average sewer that offer directions on how to modify the pattern. This could be a “design your own” clothing line, that would be available for any doll. Once a pattern is drafted, it is usually fairly easy to scale to a different size. I think this option would encourage more sewers and build the confidence they need to sew the “advanced” designs.
