One of my favorite holiday traditions is decorating! Very room is touched by the magic of Christmas, garland with red bows and balls, pinecones dabbed with a smidge of fake snow, soft white lights intertwined, nativities, with the sound of Christmas music playing. Ugh it’s time to start the decorating!
My favourite thing about Christmas is decorating the tree, the house and setting up my village. Every year I have received something for the village from my two children. Now my two grandsons are old enough, they are also giving me gifts for my village. I love getting all the boxes out and getting the stores, church and homes organized. It’s a labour of love and now the boys get to turn on the village lights on Dec 1. We have hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies.
One of my favorite traditions is gathering around the Christmas tree with the grandchildren, carols playing in the background, and snacking on hot chocolate and cookies we made earlier, as well as popcorn. Each child gets to put on her special ornament, bought when they were born. Most ornaments hold special memories of vacations or other memories.
One of my favorite holiday traditions is actually one that my kids do. Every Christmas Eve they all sleep in the same bed together. There are three of them that range from 6 to 14. I love that they enjoy spending the one night close to each other. I love to hear them whisper and giggle as I’m constantly reminding them to go to sleep. I hope this tradition lasts.
My favorite holiday tradition is going to my Grandma’s house on Christmas Eve where all my family comes to together to have a great time!
I love doll clothes that are realistic. This is a dress style I could see a child wearing.
Christmas traditions in the ‘olden days’ when I was small meant a visit to our Grandmother’s house with our Dad every Christmas Eve. When we’d arrive back home,we’d find that Santa had come! We’d open our gift and spend family time together until time to leave for midnight church services. I always loved hearing the choir singing, lights twinkling and the ‘magic’ of Baby Jesus’ birth!
One of my favorite traditions has always been on Christmas morning. We would all go see what was in our stockings (what Santa left). then we sat down for a special breakfast before opening the presents under the tree. We made sure each person got their three gifts, after all Jesus got three, why would we get more?
ONE OF MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITIONS IS GOING IN TO TOWN ON CHRISTMAS EVE, WITH MY FAMILY, TO SEE ALL THE LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS, IN THE STREETS AND IN THE SHOPS.
“ONE OF MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITIONS IS” To set up a Christmas Tree even if it is a very small one. When I was born our home was burned down. Sister died within a few years after that and my parents had to work in the fields. We slept in tents, we were cold, and hungry most of the time. We ate from trash cans and Christmas never came until one day when I was in 7th grade. This in it self is an other story. We lived in Texas where tumble weeds were always around. One Christmas I took one and decorated like a tree and this was our Christmas tree that year. So when I married my husband he promised that as long as he was alive he would provide a tree for me. Sometimes we have had a small one, but for most of our years we have had an average one. But, we still have had a Christmas tree. We have been very sick this year, but we are still going to set a small one. This is our Holiday tradition.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is doing for the children on Christmas Eve what my father and mother did for me and my sister when we were young and always got up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning. After my husband and I have put the Christmas toys together, wrapped them, put them under the tree, enjoyed the milk and cookies the children left for Santa, (also a favrite tradition) and go to sleep, we string up a sign at the top of the stairs that says “Santa’s helpers always said, ‘good little children stay in bed!!!’” I love passing on traditions!!

One of my favourite holiday traditions is sending out Christmas cards with special crocheted ornaments for the recipient’s tree. My two children have long since grown up and are on their own. No grandchildren, but I joke and say their pets are my grandkids lol. Every year the cards have a new ornament I’ve crocheted, and they always send back a picture with it hanging in their tree :) I’ve also done this for the few friends I have as well, and also send a few out to folks in the military who can’t get back home for the holidays, and don’t have a lot of mail from someone.
Each Christmas I hand make as many gifts as I can for family, friends and even doctors and others who have been a part of my life for the past year. Nothing says “I Care “ and “Thank You” more than a gift from your heart

This year I plan to sew an item with her help so that she will wish to make some of her own doll clothes. She is 8 years old. It should be an entertaining day of doll clothes making and an awesome day during our Christmastime visit. I’m bringing my portable sewing machine for this. Thanks for the great patterns.
