Make a fun Holiday outfit using the Forever 18 Inches Lollipop Garden Dress! With just a few specific fabric and trim choices you can transform your 18" American Girl doll into a Gingerbread Girl!

Follow along as Karen from Forever 18 Inches shows us how to use her Lollipop Garden Dress pattern to create a festive holiday outfit!

Let's get started...
Materials Needed:
- 2/3 yd. of brown medium-weight fabric with a tight weave and some drape
- ¼ yd. of 45" wide lightweight fabric for lining
- A piece of 1-3/8" x 4-1/4" piece of bias-cut red-and-white striped fabric
- Four ¼" white buttons
- Three medium-sized snaps OR two pieces of thin ¼” wide Hook-and-Loop tape,
about 3 ½” long
- Matching thread
- 1 package of mini white rick rack
- One 12" long piece of 3/8" elastic
- Small, very sharp scissors to trim seam allowances
- Optional: Fray Check to prevent the rick rack from raveling
- 3 to 5 decorative buttons, ranging from 7/16" to ½"
To begin:
7. Pull the gathering stitches tight to form a circular shape, and tie them off. Tack the gathered center edges together.
10. Complete Steps 17-18 to finish the top. Congratulations! Your Gingerbread Dress is finished!

Old fashioned spritz cookies are my all time favorite because they bring back childhood memories of making and decorating these cookies with my grandmother. She has since past as well as my mother, so passing on this tradition to my daughter’s is up to me, which I love.

My favorite Christmas cookie is a Hershey Kiss peanut butter cookie.
I have 2 favorites: Chocolate Cookie Press Tree Cookies frosted with buttercream and sprinkles. Cut out cookies (Gingerbread or Sugar) outlined and filled with royal icing. The trees are really quick to make (10 dozen in a couple of hours), but the others are fun to make with the Grandkids.

My favorite Christmas Cookie is the sugar cookies that we always decorate together as a family. We used shaped cookie cutters, then colored frosting and used decorator bags with frosting tips and many types of sprinkles to decorate them. It would take us all weekend! It became an extended family expectation to have some of our cookies at all family gatherings. I grew up with this tradition and now have passed it onto my own children.

My favorite Christmas cookie is the cut out sugar cookies. Sugar cookie dough cut into shapes like Christmas trees, Santas, presents, etc. Then you get to decorate them however you want. The kids love these things too.
My Favorite Christmas Cookie is the sugar cookie recipe that has been handed down for now, 6 generations. We always make the 3 dozen batch the night before and then decorate them up for Santa. Even when I was a teenager, it was a tradition we kept doing and reviewed all of the former Christmas pictures.

My favorite cookies changed about five years ago. Now my favorite is any that my grandkids help me make. From the bits of dough on the floor, to the flour on their face and finally pictures with their faces firmly affixed to the inside of the mixing bowl with frosting (Their parents have participated in that too!) Hilarious new memories every year.

My favourite Christmas cookies (to cook) are just a regular soft peanut butter type, flattened slightly with a fork to give it a funky design. Usually peanut butter is not a choice one bakes with for Christmas, but every time I make them they are gobbled up with glee hehe! They are always snatched up after coming out of the oven and even cooled they are still soft & nummy.
My favorite Christmas cookies are pfeffernusse cookies also know as peppernut cookies. My husband tells me they are an acquired taste but they have been a traditional Christmas cookie in my family for generations.
My favorite Christmas cookie is an iced cut-out sugar cookie that has almond extract in it. Almond is my favorite flavor (guess that’s the Dutch in me coming out). I’ve never been able to get cut-out cookies to work so I really enjoy ones that other people make. I also enjoy seeing how create people are with their decorating.

I found a very old cookbook and actually did not know what some of the ingredients were, so I improvised. The cookie turned out to be the best mistake ever. These never last long around our house.
