Hi Everyone! This week we have a super cute pattern hack that's perfect for welcoming Spring 2021! This blog post is brought to us from our newest content creator, @graceloves2bake from Instagram. We love her fresh take on the patterns we've published and her photos are the cutest too! So without futher ado... here's more from the author:
I purchased the Primrose Dress and All Occasion Dress patterns with no intention of using them together. After making a dress from each of these patterns, I kept thinking how adorably they would go together! It seems as if they were made for each other! One of the things I love about these patterns is that they are both available in 18 inch and Wellie Wisher sizes! Today I will show you how to combine the 14.5" patterns to make this dress for your Ruby Red Fasion Friends doll!
You will need:
❀ Buzzin Bea Primrose Dress Pattern
❀ 123 Mulberry Street All Occasion Dress Pattern
❀ ¼ yard Fabric (Type of fabric as suggested in pattern instructions)
❀ Scissors (I chose to use pinking shears)
❀ Sewing Machine
❀ Hook & Loop Tape (I cut mine 2 inches by ⅜ inches)
❀ Pins
Step 1:
Print and cut out your pattern pieces. You should have four blouse pieces from the Primrose Pattern plus a sleeve ruffle. (I cut my ruffle 3 inches by 6 inches for my Ruby Red Fashion Friend. If you are making this for a Wellie Wisher or an 18 inch doll, cut the sleeve ruffle according to the pattern specifications.) You should have four pattern pieces for your skirt as well.
Step 2:
Cut the pieces out according to the pattern instructions. (Keep in mind that if you are making this for a Ruby Red Doll, like me, you will need to add an inch to the bottom of the skirt. For any other doll you can leave the pattern as is.)
Step 3:
Sew your blouse, following the instructions given by Buzzin Bea in the Primrose Pattern.
Step 4:
Sew your skirt according to 123 Mulberry Street’s instructions.
Step 5:
Pin your skirt and bodice good sides together, lining up the side seams. Sew together.
Step 6:
Topstitch along the middle seam.
Step 7:
This is the part where I always try the dress on my doll, just to make sure it will fit properly before I add the hook and loop tape.
Following the instructions in the Primrose Pattern, add your hook and loop tape.
And your dress is finished! Snap a few photos and share your new creation with us!

Sandals, some fun jewelry, a wide brimmed hat, and a beach bag and blanket would make some fun accessories
A sun hat.
A pink floppy hat.
She needs a sun hat, flip flops and sunglasses!
A big brim straw hat would be perfect, with flowers along the head part and a flowing, long tailed ribbon in the back!!!!
I envision strappy sandals and a sweet sunhat to go with this dress! And perhaps a lightweight shawl for when the sun goes down.
This outfit is so cute! I love the both of the patterns used. I think it is perfectly accessorized!
I would add a necklace, bracelet and maybe earrings/
I would add some espadrilles in one of the deeper shades of rose pink that are in her dress.
подойдет шляпа с широкими полями.
можно добавить легкий палантин.
A straw hat with flowers or fruit to match the dress pattern would be nice.
I would add a floral crown: depending on your dress fabric it could be a daisy chain, or a rose coronet, or whatever enhances the image.
I think this little cutie definitely needs a big hat with flowers on it to match her dress. She would look so adorable with that.
I’d make her some little Espadrille sandals to go with her straw purse…
A yellow sunglasses would be cute
i would add some jewelry
I think a straw hat, sandals and a straw purse or a shopping bag.
I love the idea of using parts of 2different patterns to create a new look. My mother use to do that when I was a child and made my a unique dress for school.
I think she totally needs a wide brimmed hat, like at the racetrack.
I would add a little lace trim :)
How about a shiny raincoat for the April showers coming soon!
I wouldn’t add a thing. It is so cute just the way it is.
Since the dress is long sleeves, I think a white floppy spring hat would be nice to complete her outfit. I’d probably put a pair of sunglasses on her, too. 😊
A lovely straw hat would be a nice accessory.
I would add a sweet bangle bracelet, a straw tote, and espadrilles! Soooooo ready for Spring!
a big floppy straw hat!
Such a cute tote and easy. I will sew enjoy making these for my Granddaughters dolls. Perhaps even try shoes and other accessories to go with for a beach day.
I would accessorise this dress with a lovely straw hat and matching bag.
I would make the super cute doll tote with it!!
Definitely a pair of white go-go boots. It reminds me of a dress I wore in the early 70’s
How about a crocheted headband and a pair of cute summer sandals.
She needs a tote bag, a floppy hat and sunglasses
Floppy hat with flowers. tights and Mary Jane shoes! Cute!
Red shoes,a white hat with red flowers and a coat of white with red trimmingsand buttons.
Marilyn
I think a wide brim hat would be adorable.
The dress is cute, but I think I would shorten both the sleeves and dress to make it more beachy and add jelly shoes and a matching tote bag.
A wide brim floppy Hat, a matching tote bag and flip-flops. How Cute would that be?
That is adorable! I would add a floral wreath so she would be all set for Easter!
A light, summer hat would be perfect
A big straw hat with pink flowers and sandals to match.
I would pair it with a sun hat and a fringed square purse and cute sandals.
She definitely needs a straw hat!
This would be even more cute with a floppy sun hat and Miche’s Candy Shop Sandals. I can’t wait to try this hack!
I think a darling straw hat decorated with flowers would be the finishing touch.
Floppy hat, flip flops. Love the dress and your site.
I would pair it with a cute purse and sun hat. It would be perfect for a walk on the beach.
Perfect timing! My American Girl and Wellie Wisher dolls just adopted a 19” Gotz doll and a Red Ruby doll. Excluding the clothes they traveled to our house in, they are dressed only in their birthday suits. This hack has just moved up on my construction list. Thanks for the darling new pattern idea! I do have the WW Cloche Hat pattern (Eden Ada) that has been waiting on my computer, so it would be a great match.

Espadrilles would be cute.
Very cute hack! I love many of the others you have as well. I agree with many of the others that a floppy hat or the Phoebe hat would look great with this outfit.
Thank you for sharing. I think a pair of sunglasses on her eyes would look great.
Headband or a hat. So cute!
This is an adorable dress! I think some cute little sandals would go nicely with it, too.
So cute! Love the pattern hack! I would maybe add a bright pink pair of sparkly shoes…Thanks
Love the dress. A cute pair of ballet flats would finish the outfit
I would love to see this with a big hat with a green bow!
Some cute espadrilles, for sure!
A floppy hat
I would pair a set of cute mini jewelry(necklace, bracelet) with this sweet springy dress. Maybe a cute little hat, and a purse.
Some sandals and a floppy red hat would look cute with the cherry dress.
The Miche Fringe Sandals would be fun.
I think a pair of espadrilles and a wide-brimmed hat.
I think an adorable little sun hat will go perfectly with this cute dress!
What a darling dress created by mashing these 2 patterns together. And that little bag is sooo cute – must locate supplies to make it to go with this (and many other) spring dress(es)! Cute pair of sandals finishes the look!
The braided sandals and Celeste tote bag would be darling with it.
The Miche bag would be cute.
